"Defending a murderer, Code-breaker scum. Why am I not surprised? Thunderclan apprentices will always be dumb and easily misguided. Not a surprise that Rockthorn came out from this place..." She said in a low, hiss, not wanting to argue with stupid apprentices. She didn't even threaten Flickerpaw's life! Were they really deaf? She just said that death wasn't the only way of punishment.

Her anger only rose when another one dumb apprentice managed to attack Ivystar. With a hiss, she attempted to get her but the grey and white Thunderclan stopped her first. Good... at least that former tribe cat had still some sense in her mind. And then... Specklefang dropped the bomb. So that huge brown warrior was Rowanpaw's murderer. She hissed, her teeth clenched in anger but the young warrior stayed quiet. She knew that that filthy scum would get what she deserved.

Her odd eyes then glanced at Swoopnose and she grinned, mockingly. "Riverclan is always the bad guy, right? In the first place, that Birchheart got what is expected from a war that YOUR clan started! Sunningrocks belongs to us. You were the ones invading our territory. That's an old story but you seem to forget who started all this. Spotpaw did nothing less than fight for his home and clan, like a true loyal clan member. There is no blame on him. Birchheart's loss is the consequences of a fight that Thunderclan started, not Riverclan." She spatted, calmer than before but with poison in every word.

Ivystar finally talked. She listened to Flickerpaw's punishment and even though she desired her exile... the leader's punishment seemed fair enough. The fiery she-cat wanted to rip her to shreds but, unlike the apprentice, she was loyal to the Warrior Code and the leader's word was the Warrior Code. With a satisfied and silent look, Silverfang glanced at Ivystar pinning down the other murderer. An open execution... was truly a good punishment for Rowanpaw's murderer.

Scorchpaw could not believe his eyes when one of the ThunderClan apprentices actually had the audacity to claw Ivystar. A furious hiss erupted from his jaws, but before Scorchpaw could do anything, Splashwillow shoved the apprentice away and he was pinned down by another Thunderclanner. Digging his claws into the ground, the fluffy tabby apprentice glared down at Featherpaw and then at the other apprentices surrounding Flickerpaw. Were they out of their minds, protecting a murderer?! Having never had a true family himself, the bonds between siblings were something that he just could not understand. His claws itched to rake themselves across Featherpaw's muzzle, but he restrained himself. RiverClan would not benefit from a fight breaking out here. Then a huge brown warrior stepped forward and claimed to be Rowanpaw's murderer. In an instant, Ivystar was upon her, eyes flashing with rage. She was going to kill the Thunderclanner. Scorchpaw's eyes widened when he realized what his leader wanted to do. For the first time since entering the ThunderClan camp, he wavered slightly. Was he really about to witness his leader kill another cat before his eyes? And why not? The less emotional side of him asked. The fox-hearted creaure is only getting what she deserves.

OOC: I actually... expected this punishment? It was one of the top 3. Death, Exile, and would you call that Capture? I dunno, but she'll def miss her siblings. ~~tbh I might've cried had she been killed but now I can write a fanfic about If Ivystar Killed Flickerpaw and make everyone cry with the sad saturation~~

Flickerpaw was scared. The murder in Ivystar's eyes... It wanted to kill her, and only her. Not her family. Not her Clan. Flickerpaw. She was going to die, and live in StarClan with Thistlepaw and Shrewheart- and even then she might go to the Dark Forest for killing Fawnsong. Fear was overtaking her, making her fur stand up at its greatest height. She was a small cat, compared to her siblings. Ivystar was a huge cat that could straight-out murder her in one swipe. Then, an unexpected thing happened. Ivystar's eyes changed to a soft realization, or so it seemed. Did the leader still want to kill her?

Flickerpaw whipped her head around towards Specklefang's voice. Ivystar was on top of the warrior in a single moment. The dung heap of an apprentice of yours may keep her life, trapped in my camp without any contact with ThunderClan. Let her live out the rest of her life around those that mourn a sister, a warrior who'd just been appointed not even a few sunrises ago. Flickerpaw's clenched heart felt like it had stopped beating in those few moments of fear. She hadn't realized she stopped breathing until she let out a big breath and, well, breathed again. ~~I just used breath, breathed, and breathing in the same sentence.~~

That meant Specklefang was going to die instead. Instead of losing an apprentice, Thunderclan would lose a warrior and an apprentice. The apprentice was her. She was still alive, though. It took a few moments to comprehend this. Ivystar would take Specklefang's life away for murdering Rowanpaw, and for killing Fawnsong, Flickerpaw was to blame. But why let her keep her life? But this one, I will not let her live. I've seen eyes like yours before, and I know what they can do, will do... Her life for peace, Blizzardstar. I'll even return Lionspark to you early. Return Lionspark? That seemed good... Thunderclan would gain back a warrior but lose one too.

The loyal parts of her wanted to save Specklefang, a valuable warrior, and sacrifice herself. But the logic that was surprisingly still in Flickerpaw told her not to. That part wanted Blizzardstar to accept the kill for peace. And the darkest parts that were left over, they wanted Blizzardstar to deny. To deny it all. To send all of Thunderclan on this Riverclan patrol, murder them all, and block the entrance to camp so nobody could send for help. As that thought came to mind, she realized, horrified, that these thoughts were what made her a murderer.

Maybe it was better that Ivystar kept her away. Alone. With nobody to confide in, and nobody to kill.

Spotpaw was angry. As he sat, he waved his tail back and forth in annoyance. "Why are we keeping her in camp," He asked with an almost snide mien. "She could kill every kit in camp! Shadekit, Wrenkit, all of them! And if there are any apprentices younger than her, or even older, I mean, she killed a warrior, older and stronger than her! She's dangerous!" Then he slapped a paw over his mouth with wide eyes. "Sorry! I didn't mean to contradict... I just thought it would be safer for the Clan if..." He trailed off before guiltily looking at Silverfang. She had defended him to the Thunderclan apprentices.

Dappledpaw couldn’t believe what was happening. One moment, it seemed Ivystar was ready to back down. Within a heartbeat, she was on top of Specklefang. And then, she was stating her price, and Dappledpaw felt the world was crumbling at his feet. Kill Specklefang? Take Flickerpaw? The words resounded in his head, over and over again, until he finally came to his senses. No. No, no, no. He finally understood that there was nothing he could do. They were going to take his sister from him. They wouldn’t leave without her. He had to clamp his jaws shut and bite his tongue to stop himself from yowling every foul insult he could think of at these RiverClanners. What could he do? What could he do? Was there anything he could do? He had to think of something to stop them from taking Specklefang’s life and Flickerpaw’s freedom. Something, anything. Nothing came to him. Nothing. Once he had found his voice, he opened his mouth again. ”N-no... No! I- I won’t let you! Noo! You can’t! Please, please, NO!” He started off quiet, and his voice increased in volume until he was begging them. It couldn’t be happening! This wasn’t happening!

Scarletpaw's eyes widened in shock the moment Ivystar meowed out those words. Ivystar was going to kill her mentor? Thoughts swirled through her mind like a storm, and she struggled to get clearheaded. "You can't kill Specklefang!" she growled, trying to act brave.

“Specklefang...” the words came out as a whisper. Leafstorm stood stock-still, his large green eyes wide as he watched his entire world crash and burn. There were so many things he needed to say- take me instead, I love you -but he was powerless. Ivystar was a leader. She had every right to kill specklefang.
But just because she was allowed to didn’t mean that it was the right course of action, right?
Leafstorm grunted as he felt someone’s teeth sink into his scruff, but he pushed the cat off. “Revenge is not the answer!” He shot Leopardclaw a desperate look. Help me. “Take our best warriors as prisoners. Steal our prey, but don’t spill any more blood! Only rouges and scoundrels deal in revenge.”
Leafstorm turned to Blizzardstar and took a few hesitant steps back. He had to remember his place.
The sight of specklefang on the ground made vomit rise in his throat. He was desperate now, but he couldn’t let it show. He had to stay calm, let the older and wiser cats sort this out. “For Specklefang.” He whispered, fighting back the bitter anger and sharp panic that were threatening to sink in.
Instead of panicking, leafstorm did the only other thing he could do. What needed done?
“Apprentices, into the dens.” He mewed, wading through the crowd. “This is a meeting of leaders. It’s not safe for you here.”
The fluffy Tom flicked his ears. “The rest of you, stay quiet. I don’t want to hear a single word from any of you until this whole thing is over with.”

Heatherpetal trembled heavily, the color rushing from her face. Flickerpaw would be confined in RiverClan camp. And Specklefang would be... How would Sunpaw take this? How would anyone take this?

She pressed herself into Emberheart's side, not just to comfort her over the fact that she'd be losing her former mentor, but also to comfort herself. She was tired of seeing death and murder. When she looked at Ivystar pinning Specklefang, she could only see herself pinning her mother who didn't deserve to die. No one deserved to die! Oh, please, StarClan, make this all STOP!

Specklefang rolled with it but did not struggle. She stared defyingly into Ivystar's eyes listening intently as she stated her reasons. Peace, Lionspark being returned, for her demise? Her family finding peace was the ultimate prize to be won, and she had won it, no matter the cost. Despite her death penalty, she had won. Specklefang contemplated going out with a bang, making her seem like the bad cat. She could easily kick Ivystar off and snap her jaws around her throat and tear it out in seconds, no cat could prevent that no matter how fast they were. But she knew that the peace agreement would possibly break and her sacrifice would all be for nothing.

Family and Loyalty was worth more than her life, the young she-cat prayed that someday she'd be able to redeem herself, clear her name. Prayed that whoever the real murderers did not step forwards now that they faced risking an innocents cat life. "Rowanpaw's death was a quick one, so it's only common courtesy that you make mine quick." She spat, her back legs pressing threateningly against Ivystar's belly.

Emberheart stared at the cat that had once been her mentor. Specklefang had been the cat to teach her the basics of what being a Clan cat was. And there she stood, defying everything Emberheart understood.

The honorable Clan she had thought she called home was no more, so it seemed, and her eyes turned to Blizzardstar, hoping for some shred of something she could still cling to.

Birchheart glared at Silverfang and Swoopnose as they bickered over her problems. They were treating her just like her sister now! Looking to her mother as Ivystar decided, she felt her world crumble. She wanted to stop this and save her mother but, this was her decision. She'd chose this and she certainly had the power to stop Ivystar. The she-cat's head hung in defeat. The cat she held so highly was about to die. Not only that but, she'd murdered a near kit in cold blood? She did everything she could to impress her and tried to stay strong when her mother was grieving. If they had won, would things be different? If she'd tried harder, would they have won?

Wildpaw gasped as Ivystar chose to keep Flickerpaw away forever. She'd never see her sister again? Hot, angry tears spilled from her eyes as she clawed at the ground. Running forward, she buried her face in her sister's fur. Lifting her head, her eyes blazed and she stared holes into Spotpaw. "You are a spineless piece of foxdung. You can't even give your opinion without being afraid. Or, are Ivystar's feelings just that fragile? You'd better be happy I'm not the one in your camp." With that, she nuzzled her sister again and glared at Sharptooth. She said she would fix this! Now their family was ruined and Blizzardstar would bow and cower in the face of every leader she breathed near. What was happening?

Newtpaw grimaced. It was done. While Specklefang would die, there would be no more tragedies. Hopefully. If Ivystar was good on her word, things would be alright. He groomed the blood from his cheek and curled his tail over his paws.

'I will not let her live.' Dustcloud stood up immediately, her tail flicking back and forth in anticipation. "I r-really h-h-hate to sp-speak against you Ivystar, but is the m-m-murdering of an-another cat r-really the s-solution to a-ll of th-this? Or w-will it j-just f-f-fuel th-the argum-ment m-more?" The senior warrior pawed at the ground anxiously, looking down at her paws for a moment. She hated for any cat to die, whether it was a RiverClanner, a ThunderClanner, or a kittypet. She also didn't like going against the silver leaders word, but a cats life was at stake, so she felt it was necessary. She looked up to Blizzardstar, awaiting whatever it was that she would say next.

Take Flickerpaw...kill Specklefang?! "No..Ivystar-" Leopardclaw cut himself off, his voice was horse. This couldn't be happening, but it was. No matter how he felt about Flickerpaw's actions, or his opinions of Specklefang's flawed views, they were ThunderClan cats! They belonged here, with their families, friends and siblings...not alone. Not taken to the stars. He wanted to step up, to refuse Ivystar this revenge, but he couldn't find the strength to put one paw in front of the other. He wanted to scream 'Don't take them from us, take me!' but his voice couldn't seem to get out the words. In the moment, his world was nothing but chaos and pain, and he could only see darkness looming on the horizon. To believe you are ThunderClan is what makes you ThunderClan...we are the clan that welcomes the downtrodden and allows them to climb our ranks...somehow an unwanted rogue kit became deputy, sworn to protect and love his clan for the rest of his days...but today my paws are tied with tendrils of ivy, and the cats that need to be protected are the ones doing all the harm...... "....may StarClan watch over their souls." Leopardclaw turned his face down to the ground at his paws, and flattened his ears to his head, hiding his eyes that brimmed with more agony than he could possibly describe.

I don't care about the nine lives that you don't deserve. They may have done horrible things, but so did Otterleap! Is he in a grave or in our camp? NO! You may not be a tyrant over your own clan, but not ours!" By now, Swoopnose was too far into a rage to think properly. As soon as Ivystar pounced on his former mentor, he jumped closer instinctively, rage burning in his green eyes. She would not kill her. "Revenge is a petty goal. Kill her, and you will be destined for the Dark Forest when we kill you! You have no control over ThunderClan, you crazy excuse for a leader! We are already in war, we know the death and capture of two more cats will do the opposite of settle this. Not that this will happen, because you can't make THUNDERCLAN follow RiverClan's fox-hearted, mouse-brained leader!" No sane thoughts still resided in the young warriors brain, only pure rage.

Robinpaw looked on in disbelief as her usually happy, friendly, sensible brother went full rage on Ivystar. Did he want to get his pelt torn off? The RiverClan patrol would see to that. But, he had a point. And Robinpaw felt like he was actually making some sense. She stepped forwards with him, a growl rumbling in her throat. He was right. Ivystar would pay if she killed a ThunderClanner in their own camp.

Foxfire’s heart was pounding. He could barely take the stress. ”You can’t...” he trailed off. The newly appointed warrior had no power against the raging RiverClan leader. He could only pray to StarClan things wouldn’t end in the worst.
