February’s Gathering 2018

Dappledpaw looked up as a cat walked over to him. She seemed... intimidating, to say the least. Her voice was a little louder than necessary, but whatever. It was a growl, and it was talking about ‘sharp’, whatever that was. Did she mean Sharptooth? His mother? Oh, no. Not on his watch. He could easily see the rage in her eyes. ”Sharptooth? Why, did she do something wrong?” He asked, fighting to keep his tone level. He wouldn’t start an argument. Maybe it was just a misunderstanding.

Scorchfang blinked curiously at Nectarleap as he approached and introduced himself. Why did he want to start a conversation with him? Well, he couldn't be rude. Besides, there was nothing better to do than to just stand around doing nothing. "Scorchfang of ShadowClan." He suddenly looked very sheepish. "Hey, uh, you're Swiftstep's Clanmate, aren't you? Could you, uh, tell him that I apologize for... er, crossing the Thunderpath into your territory? I really didn't mean it. I guess I was just so focused on feeding the kits and elders that I wasn't thinking of my surroundings."


Heatherpetal watched as ShadowClan padded into the clearing, and her eyes narrowed. "I'll be right back, Emberheart," she briskly meowed to her mate before standing up and walking towards the clutter of ShadowClanners, searching for a particular flame-colored tom (Firestone).

Birdflight arrived with Thunderclan. Her gaze swept through the gathering mass as she gracefully made her way to a place she could sit. She she-cat wasn't in a mood to speak to anyone.

Crowfur had come in with Shadowclan. He was looking around where he sat but trying to avoid direct eye contact. He just wanted the gathering to begin.

Kestrelpaw arrived with Shadowclan. The tom bounded away excitedly to try and talk to as many cats as he could for his first time.

Wildpaw caught sight of his sister Silentpaw and walked up to her side and sat down "Hi! Isn't this cool? Look at all the cat!" he meowed and smiled at his sister.

Ravenflight padded into the Gathering with her Clanmates.

Tansyheart followed Magpiestar into the clearing and settled quietly among her Clanmates.

Violetpaw enered Fourtrees with her Clan, scanning the cats already there for any familiar faces.

They were all surprised to hear that darkpaw was dead. "you must be soo sad." said Spottedpelt in a motherly voice. They all then turned to Swirlpaw. "well hello little one." FrostFeather said smiling. Swirlpaw looked at all the cats and noticed the new cat(spotpaw). She sighed knowing it was a bad idea to come. "h...hi..you..guys..act..like..your..in..same..clan..." she said shyly. Rosepaw smiled at them. "im Rosepaw it's nice to meet you Swirlpaw. This is FrostFeather, wolfsong, Spottedpelt,spotpaw ,and DaisyHeart." she said nicely to the shy cat.

Owlpaw arrived to the gathering with Shadowclan. He then sat down and looked around, hoping somebody would come talk to him.

Nightpaw came in with Thunderclan. Her face emotionless but her body movement showed depression. She was in no mood to talk with anybody.

Hickorypaw walked around with wide eyes after arriving with Windclan. He was willing to speak with everyone. It was his first time in a gathering so he wanted it to be special.

Russetpelt nodded, but then the all the other clans came in. Soon, the gathering would start.

Sunpaw of Thunderclan
Sunpaw excitedly followed his mentor Heatherpetal into Fourtrees, and watched as she went off to join her mate. He cleared a small space of snow with his tail and sat, looking around at the mass of cats in wonder. He had never seen so many cats in one place before, and though he was nearly a warrior this was his first Gathering- he had focused so much on his training that he hadn't had the chance to come to one. Sunpaw saw a gray tom that smelled of Windclan and approached him, flicking his feathery tail in greeting (Rainpaw, Ivyy). "Hello!" He mewed, taking a seat next to what he figured was a fellow apprentice. "My name is Sunpaw. How are you tonight?"

Softpaw of Windclan
Softpaw nervously followed his sister Fernfeather into the Gathering, but was struck with fear when he lost her in the crowd. He struggled onto his toes to try to find somebody he knew, but he was too short, and in the mass of cats he couldn't pick out a fellow Windclan scent. Panicking, Softpaw pushed his way to the edge of the clearing to where there was more space, and breathed a sigh of relief. He looked out over the swarm of cats and thought that though this was his first Gathering, he was unsure if he would be coming to another, if only because of the large number of cats.
(OOC: please talk to Softy, he's too shy to start a conversation of his own but he'll warm up to you!)

Rippedsky had followed Crowstar dutifully in and headed straight for the base of the highrock as he broke away from his mate. He settled down next to Jaystream, the youngest deputy and offered up a soft smile. Their last interactions had been rather pleasant and he appreciated that Ivystar seemed to have chosen a level-headed deputy. The warrior found himself hoping that when the time came, he too would make a good decision. There was still an air of tension between all of the cats. It was palpable. However, the black and white tom, as much as he did not like the actions of Riverclan in war, hoped to keep a neutral role. Whichever way Crowstar chose to support, he would follow. Blizzardstar and Ivystar had their points and he respected them both.

"How are things going?" He meowed lowly to Jaystream, softly enough for the other tom to hear. This was a conversation just meant for the two of them and between deputies. Hopefully, there would be good news of some sort to combat the rising discomfort that was felt by anyone in the clearing. While he awaited an answer, a voice caused his head to whip around. It was Twistedtail. They hadn't spoken since she had tried to come see in Skyclan territory. His tail tip twitched uncomfortably. Crowstar would most likely not take kindly to him being friendly with the she-cat. With a stiff nod of welcome, the deputy responded, "All is well with my kin and my clan." The response was curt and formal. It was as if he was not talking to an old friend. A twang of guilt caused his stomach to turn uncomfortably, but he hoped she would understand.

Mumblepaw's ears fell back when he didn't spot Bonestrike right away. Either he had managed to miss the large white warrior, or Shadowclan hadn't brought him tonight. Unlike previous gatherings, the little apprentice had already broken away from his clan without realizing it. For a moment, he froze and assessed the situation. It was obvious how uncomfortable he was. However, the feeling was pushed away as he spotted a she-cat sitting alone. Normally, the tiny Skyclanner would not have been intrigued by this, but there was something special about her. She didn't have a tail, just like him.

His paws hesitated for a moment, yet Mumblepaw managed to push himself to pad up to her. She smelled of Thunderclan. That was good. He opened his mouth slightly, searching for the right thing to say. Nothing seemed proper. Mumblepaw barely knew how to speak to his own clanmates, let alone cats from other clans, save for Bonestrike. Instead of anything intelligent, the black and white tom ended up softly blurting out, "Y-you don't have a tail. Uh... I'm, uh, Mumblepaw by the way. Of Skyclan." His sentence was jerky and awkward. Immediately his ears heated up with embarrassment. However, he stood his ground stiffly as he waited for Birchheart to say something.

Coyotefang was less than pleased to be forced to attend another gathering. But, he had held his tongue on the matter the entire walk here. For some reason, Blizzardstar chose him time and time again to attend on behalf of Thunderclan. All the clan saw him as something good due to their ignorance of how little he genuinely cared for others. His tabby tail twitching irritably was the only indication of his true annoyance. The tom chose a spot at the edge of the clearing near his clan. It was the best way to avoid any real conversation. He could only hope that no over-eager apprentice would come up to him on their first gathering.

The ever-growing tensions between Riverclan and Thunderclan were obvious in the air. That was his main reason for wanting to avoid this. He had dealt with hearing about this whole ordeal enough. The less-than-dedicated warrior had no reason to fight in the battle yet. If Blizzardstar were to choose him for that too, he would just barely scrape by in battling another and only be fighting for his own life. A grumble left his maw as he sunk back on his haunches, "Let's get this over with..."

Wolfsong smiled slightly at the new cat Swirlpaw and shook his head "Nope Spotted'paw' and Daisy'paw' are from Thunderclan, Rosepaw from Shadowclan, Frostfeather from Windclan and Spotpaw and I are from Riverclan" he answerd quietly. He then asked again "Frostfeather? What's wrong with Echopaw?" he glanced at the silver tabby who sat quietly looking like he where scared to death.

Echopaws eyes meet Wolf'paw's and he lowerd is head quickly looking away "Don't worry she won't tell them.." he wisperd quietly to himself even if he where unsure about it, what if she did tell them? Oh no! They would hate him!

Silentpaw jumped in surprise and slight fear, but relaxed a bit upon hearing her brother's familiar voice. "It's kinda scary... there's so many cats. I don't know what to do or who to talk to." she mewed, curling her long, fluffy white tail over her paws and looking around nervously.

Thornpaw quickly grew bored with glaring at the other clans. She wasn't allowed to start a fight here, she had been repeatedly warned not to. There was nothing to do! With an angry huff, she began to wander along the outside of the clearing, exploring the new area and seeing what she could find. She wondered if there was anything of interest nearby.

"Nice to meet you, Scorchfang," Nectarleap replied, dipping his head in a greeting. A puzzled expression covered his features when Scorchfang mentioned Swiftstep, wondering how he could know his classmate's name. But understanding dawned on him as the dark tabby tom continued speaking. This must be a very honorable warrior to have the courage to own up and apologize for his mistakes, especially to someone in a different clan. This was a cat that he now respected. "I'll be sure to tell him that as soon as I see him. Good job admitting to your mistakes, I can tell you must be a great warrior. How's the prey running in ShadowClan? From your comment before, things don't seem like they're looking too good."

"I can't hear a word you're saying because of her. Just look at the scar where my ear used to be for proof of that. Now where is she?" Curlyfeather's words were still an angry growl, and her frustration just grew at not being able to hear the other cat's voice. Why did she think this was going to work? ThunderClan cats were stupid enough, and she shouldn't have expected anything better from Sharp's family. Her lack of ears should be enough to show that she was deaf, but clearly she had been mistaken in thinking that. Now, if only this tom would cooperate, she could give the fluffy she-cat a piece of her mind before the gathering was over.
