P-A-R-T-A-Y! Let it BURN!

Flickerpaw slunk away to the forest. She had hunted down every apprentice in the Clan and told them to meet her in the clearing by the stream and to bring a piece of prey. She was relieved that she was the first one there. She dropped her thrush on the ground and sat down in waiting. They were going to do a little battle, a little talk, maybe some hunting, it was going to be fun! They could even play in the snow.

Swooppaw had fallowed Flickerpaw silently. He knew where she was going and knew she expected him to be there, but he couldn't bear to be alone for even just a little while. The scrawniest mouse he had ever seen was between his jaws, and he wondered if he would even eat it. It would be better to feed it to the kits. As the other apprentice sat down, and stopped sneaking around and stepped out into the clearing, dropping the tiny mouse into the snow. He smiled in a friendly manner and sat down as well, trying to seem warm and open.
"So, why exactly are we here?" he asked quizzically.

Robinpaw had followed her brother, her signature prey clamped between her jaws; a little robin. The pretty little songbird was scrawny and pitiful to say the least, but it was what she found easier to catch. Little birds were often gullible and more interested in picking worms from the frozen ground than watching for predators. She arrived soon after Swooppaw, depositing her catch with the other pieces of prey. The apprentice smiled and dipped her head in greeting.

Flickerpaw grinned. "To celebrate. We're alive, we need some happiness so we'll eat, train a little, talk a little, that sort of stuff."

A celebration?
What was there to celebrate?
There would be other cats there...
Nonetheless, Wisteriapaw padded up to the other apprentices but kept her distance. The small squirrel that she had caught was dangling from her jaws by its tail, and the she-cat couldn't help but feel a bit of pity for the creature despite the fact that it was dead. The apprentice dropped the prey at her paws and nudged it forwards slightly with her nose. Coming here had been a bad idea, and while nothing had happened yet, she could tell that she'd end up doing something that she'd regret. Stepping back a little bit, the ginger-and-white cat flattened her ears against her head and glanced down awkwardly at a woodchip that was sticking out of the snow.
