Cold Mornings [Open Hunting Patrol]

Nightheart got up fairly early and padded out from her den. Only some warriors and apprentices were up at this time, but she thought it was enough. She just had another nightmare…and she only wanted to get her mind focused on something else than…she shook her head to get rid of the bloody dark images that reflected her greatest fears. Badgerpaw dying, Viperpaw dying, getting backstabbed by those she trusted yet again…

With still tired eyes, as no matter how much sleep she could get she could never fully rest, she looked at the cats that walked out of their dens with the first rays of sun “Anyone up to join me for a hunting patrol?”.

Dawnlight padded over and nodded, "I will come. You okay?" he asked, concerned. She looked worse for wear.

FrostFeather came out of warrior den with yet another bad dream. She wanted to get her mind off of it and saw NightHeart was making a patrol to do the same thing. She could easily notice cats who had bad dreams from all the times she did. She padded up to the two cats. "can I come I'm trying to get my mind of a bad dream I had." she asked trying to tell nightheart that she knew about the bad dream. She licked her fur trying to keep to down from her fear.

Bagderpaw was sitting outside the apprentice den already waiting on something to do, he couldn't sleep much but he didn't mind. He was able to function normally he just couldn't sleep as long as the others. "Mom! Can I come on your patrol?" The apprentice asked Nightheart. Hollowbranch didn't do much with him so he wanted to take any opportunity he could get.

Nightheart’s worries and tiredness faded almost immediately with the sweet voice of Badgerpaw, causing her to almost ignore the two warriors by accident. Her usually serious gaze melted into a soft smile as she nodded to the small group of cats “Sure, sure! I think four is more than enough for now, if anyone else wants to come they’ll need to catch up. Lets go!” With those words and a quick flick from her tail she started to lead the patrol out of camp and toward the territories, ears already moving in an attempt to catch any noise coming from potential prey around them and nose trying to catch even the faintest of scents.

The very similar apprentice nodded in response to his mother, before padding off after her. His feet seeming to glide across the snow. The tom walked quietly. He was never a one for words deciding to let the warriors do the talking. He kept his mouth open for any scents he may find.

IC: Twistedtail watched as Nightheart called for a hunting patrol. She couldn't decide whether to go or not- she was just recovering from her bout of sicknes and the death of Ash of Burning Forest, after all. But as she looked it seemed like time she got off of her rump and start contributing to her Clan. But by the time she had decided on going, she looked up to find they already left.

She quickly stood up and ran after the four. Having reached them, she padded up to Nightheart and gave a small smile to the she-cat. "Hello," she greeted. "I hope you don't mind if I tag along. Thought it would be a good day to stop grieving and start helping out with hunting."

FrostFeather smiled as she followed the group out. She then noticed another warrior come running up to nightheart and smiled at how big the group grew.

Badgerpaw looked up at his mother. "So hunting?" The tom asked Nightheart. He wasn't too experienced with hunting himself. He knew something but not a whole lot so this was totally a chance for him to make a fool of himself in front of a bunch of warriors.
