Viperkit's Apprentice Ceremony

The tom leapt toward the branch with more confidence but still hating doing this kind of announcement. Why he had to call the attention of everyone in the camp? He was afraid of all those eyes looking at him... judging him. But these ceremonies were his duty and he couldn't avoid that because of his dumb fears. "Ahem...L-let all cats old enough to catch their own prey, gather beneath the willow branch for a clan meeting!" He said loudly so the young kit would listen to him. Viperkit... poor kit. She would never meet her mother alive... Thistleblaze was a fine warrior, powerful and strong. Her death was a great loss for the clan but she gave us one last gift before leaving this world: her last daughter.

Viperkit jumped out of the nursery, her gray blue pelt shiny, and her river blue eyes scanning for her father. He was going to be here right? Viperkit padded through the snow her smaller size not really getting in the way in anyway, and once she reached the meeting spot she sat down.

"Viperkit, you have reached the age of six moons, and now it is time for you to be apprenticed. From now on you will be known as Viperpaw. And you mentor will be... F-Finchstream." The tom doubted for a second, thinking who would be the best option. Finchstream only had one apprentice and she was a good warrior. He was sure she was capable of handling two apprentices. "She's a kind, loyal and good mentor that is currently training Thymepaw... so you will be training with her as well. Finchstream... I hope is not a trouble for you training another apprentice. I'm sure you will be a good mentor for her." Those last words were said as he turned his sight to the she-cat. Even if he had the power to decide the mentors of the apprentices, for now, he still felt worried about the fact that some warriors might not want more apprentices and they would hate him for that.

The tom jumped off the willow branch and gave one last smile to the young she-cat before leaving the small gathering. Inside his mind, the question flew around all his thoughts: did he take the right decision? Was this what Ivystar expected from him?

Viperkit, no.. Viperpaw nodded. She was hoping to be trained by her dad since he followed her every move pretty much, but it would be a nice break to train with someone else! Viperpaw turned to Finchstream ready to great her new mentor. Hopefully Finchstream can handle a lets say easily excitable apprentice.
