Smokekit's Apprentice Ceremony

Oh, Starclan... please help me... The grey tabby tom approached the willow branch with shaking legs, after a while making up his mind to do this. Jaystream jumped to the branch and landed looking at his own paws at first, trying to find his own voice for the announcement that Ivystar asked him to do. So many kits had born and she must be overwhelmed by all the apprentice ceremonies.

"Uhm... L-l-let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather beneath the Willow Branch for a clan m-meeting!" He called out loudly with a bit of hesitation. However, he had to be confident. He had to show that he was capable to be the deputy... the only thing he wished was to meet his mother's expectations.

A light grey she-cat barrelled from the nursery, much different to her usual quietness. However, Smokekit had an idea what would happen today, and she couldn't be more excited. She skidded towards the tree as fast as her paws would take her, coming to a halt at the base of the tree. Smokekit sat down, flicking her tail expectantly. Her light grey eyes showed excitement beyond compare.

His green eyes searched for the young she-cat before he started speaking again. Jaystream took a deep breath and then he looked at the kit with a friendly smile, trying to get rid of his own insecurities. "Smokekit... you have reached the age of six moons, and now it is time for you to be apprenticed. From now on you will be known as Smokepaw. And you mentor will be... He hesitated for a few seconds, looking at the cats that were surrounding the willow branch. This was his choice... what if he messed this up? What if...? His worried thoughts stopped when he finally saw the amber eyes of a she-cat that was completely recovered after giving birth to two toms and didn't have any apprentices. "Your mentor will be Tinytip. She's a good and loyal warrior that will lead you on the right path to becoming a warrior. I'm sure she will teach you well."

With that being said, he jumped off the branch, sighing. That was one of the scariest experiences of his life... but he felt good. The tom trusted in the little she-cat and for the first time, he was able to do an announcement. If one day he would follow the steps of his mother, he would have to do this every day so it was good for him to learn everything he could about leading a clan.
