Frostkit's Apprentice Ceremony

"Let all cats old enough to hunt their own prey, gather beneath the willow branch for a clan meeting." His green looked at his clan covered in snow and until the tom finally saw the only she-cat of Silverfang's litter. The she-cat's fur was just like her mother's so it wasn't hard to identify her.

"Stay with me. This is probably one of your ceremonies." The she-cat purred looking at her two kits that weren't yet apprentices: her only daughter, Frsotkit, and Raccoonkit. Silverfang glanced at Jaystream with a smile as she waited for his announcement. Which one of her kits would be this time?

Frostkit settled neatly beside Silverfang at the Deputy's call. She could barely contain her excitement at hearing Silverfang predict another apprentice ceremony for one of her kits. This could be the day, her day! Yellow-green eyes stayed fixed on Jaystream as the rest of RiverClan heeded his summons.

"Frostkit, you have reached the age of six moons, and now it is time for you to be apprenticed. From now on you will be known as Frostpaw until you're ready to become a warrior. Your mentor will be Silverfang. As you might know, she's a strong and well-skilled warrior so I hope you can learn a lot from her." The warrior finished the ceremony with those words and he stepped down from the willow branch, smiling at the two she-cats.

Silverfang's eyes widened in surprise when she heard her name but she soon left that stunned state to push her daughter gently with her paw, smiling happily. The silvery warrior approached the centre of the gathering and when her daughter was by her side, she touched noses with her, starting the new bond mentor-apprentice. "Don't think that I'm going easy on you because you're my daughter. Be prepared for tomorrow's training because we're going to work a lot on your skills." She said strict at first but then she licked Frostpaw's forehead lovingly. Her first apprentice... and it was her own daughter.

Frostpaw gaped in delighted surprise when she heard that her own mother would be her mentor. The newly minted apprentice purred in joy and gratitude as she ceremoniously touched noses with Silverfang. "I'll be ready, Silverfang. I promise!" she meowed softly.
