Ravenpaw and Creampaw's assessment

Two of her kits, about to become warriors and she found herself growing sad. They wouldn't stay young forever, she knew that but now they would be forced to fight without any cat to send them back to safety. But, they would be able to sleep in the same den as her, and they would be closer too, no longer apart when their mentors were training them. Specklefang took in a deep breath and sighed, her eyes shutting tightly as she waited for her sons.

Impatience dogged her every emotion, knowing that every moment that stretched by the worse it felt for her. She just wanted to get this over with.

Ravenpaw woke up from his nest, quickly padded over to Creampaw and nudged him u til he woke up. He gazed at him strangely seeing the stick under his nest then shook his head and waited for his brother to get up. Once Creampaw was up the two large tons padded out to meet their mother for their assessments.

Specklefang nodded to her kits as they met up with her. Nodding stiffly the large she-cat got to her paws unsteadily to address her kits, "You both will retrive four different kinds of prey, each. You both will not help each other, or discuss of anything. This is completely individual. You must be here by sundown, no later." Specklefang spat stiffly, nudging her kits away on their assessments.

Ravenpaw and Creampaw nodded and went off to hunt. Ravenpaw scented the air and caught whiff of a squirrel. He looked around until he spotted it and then got into a hunting crouch and started to stalk the prey. Once he was close enough to pounce The tom crouched and waited for the perfect time to spring and then pouncedand killed the squirrel and stashed the prey in a small hollow in a tree.

Creampaw scented the air and found a vole. He got into a hunting crouch and stalked the rodent. Once close enough the tom crouch and poised to spring. Waiting until it was distracted he pounced and missed. He sighed as he watched it run away.

Ravenpaw scented the air once more and found a bird. Getting into a hunting crouch he stalked the bird. Waiting until it had picked up some seeds on the ground he inches closer careful not to make a sound or anything that would give him away. He crouched and pounced snapping the birds neck before burying t and continuing.

Creampaw scented the air again and found the scent of a mouse. He got into a hunting crouch and stalked the prey. Once he was close enough Creampaw pounced and killed the mouse. He smiled and buried the mouse before continuing on.

Ravenpaw scented the air and smelled a rabbit. Getting into a hunting crouch the tom stalked the rabbit. Once close enough he pounced he missed . Moving on he scented a vole and got into another hunting crouch and stalked that prey before pouncing but before he could catch the prey it was scared off by a raccoon. Cursing under his breath He took a battle stance. Being almost as big as his mother he puffed his fur out to give him the appearance that he was even bigger. He slashed his claws across its nose making it let out an enraged growl.

Creampaw scented the air and scented a bird and a squirrel in two different directions. He went for the bird first and got into a hunting crouch and stalked it before pouncing and killing the bird quickly and stashed it somewhere.. Once he was done he went after the squirrel got into a hunting crouch, stalked it and pounced but before he could a raccoon had the same idea and Creampaw skidded back to avoid colliding with the predator. He got into a battle stance and raked his opponents face with his claws.

IC: Specklefang was sick and tired of saving all of her apprentices and kits from predation, just plain sick of it! Did she have to put down every single predator that she met to keep them safe? Claws unsheathing Specklefang's chest filled with rage, her tail bushing and awkwardly lashing though this was a hard feat to accomplish.

Firing forwards from her hiding spot and pushing herself past the brambles and her stumbling, she slammed into the grey predator, her teeth bared as she latched onto it and heaved it onto its side before kicking herself away from it with a hiss, her leg buckling briefly as she steadied herself. "Finish it off, Ravenpaw, Creampaw." Specklefang spat, glowering at the raccoon as it complained.

Specklefang used Run-and-Tackle costing 10 damage + 3 for being unfocused! Specklefang lost 10 stamina!

The raccoon screamed enraged as three cats slammed into it and two clawing its face. It swiped at the closest of the smaller cats seating him aside.

Ravenpaw narrowed his eyes as the raccoon quickly swatted his brother away. He growled and ran at the raccoon and rolled under clawing its belly and clawed it before rolling away again.

Oh no, it didn't! Specklefang spat angrily at the raccoon, her head lowering as her back arched and her fur fluffed out, spittle drenching her chin as she launched forwards once more. Powerful jaws wrapped around the throat of the raccoon, quick to latch and suffocate the animal. Soon, Specklefang had the predator on the ground once more, her paws placed around its mouth and nose, her jaws squeezing its throat shut. Everything fell still, Specklefang waited to make sure it was dead before she released her grip. Getting to her paws she licked her maw and turned to her son Creampaw. "Grow up, son. Go see Honeyspark. Ravenpaw, come with me, we'll talk to Blizzardstar about your ceremonies." Specklefang panted, nudging Creampaw to his paws.

Creampaw falattened his ears in shame and got up to go see Honeyspark like his mother instructed him. On the way he listed all the gigs he did wrong that day.

Ravenpaw smiled and nodded, obviously not seeing his brothers crestfallen face.

Leopardclaw was disrupted from his quiet solo hunting trip by the screeches of angry cats and the chattering of a...raccoon?!  Instantly alert, the tall golden deputy abandoned the pidgeon he was stalking and raced in the direction of the scuffle.  He knew that a couple apprentices were taking their assessments today; even though they weren't much of a problem for a full-grown warrior, raccoons could be considerably dangerous to younger cats.  By the time he got to the scene though, he was relieved to find that he was too late; the creature lay dead on the ground.  Heaving a calming sigh, Leopardclaw glanced around at the group of cats present; Specklefang's sons Ravenpaw and Creampaw and...Specklefang herself, standing over the raccoon's limp form.  His eyes narrowing into slits, he padded up to the three cats and hissed in a concerned tone.  "Is everyone okay?  Are there any serious injuries?"  His tone changed into one of stern exasperation though as he shifted his gaze to the large she-cat; "Or any provoked injuries?"

Specklefang was getting reeeaaaal sick of Leopardclaw's concern, she wasn't a kit that needed to be coddled! Peeling her lips back Specklefang spat angrily "Why do you care so much? I'm doing my duty! Let it lie, Leopardclaw." Stepping so she was towering over her deputy she hissed at him. "I was protecting my kits from a predator! Would you rather I sit back and let it tear my sons apart? Because Starclan forbids I act aggressively to anything!" Specklefangs ears flicked against her head as her good eye looked straight into Leopardclaw's, her fall lying flat as she searched his gaze.

Specklefang shut her eyes tightly, taking in a few deep breaths to quell her anger, telling herself over and over again that it wouldn't solve anything. "Just- Just my son, he got a nasty swipe but I sent him off to see Honeyspark." Specklefang huffed, picking up a paw to lick and swipe over her frazzled muzzle but instead stumbled and fell onto her rump with a thump, Specklefang tried to make it look like she intended too and that she was just bad at sitting down nicely like a sophisticated clan-cat.
