An Assessment:: For all those assessment needy RC apps.

Froststar sat near the entrance, waiting for Reedpaw to join her, along with anyone else that needed the training. She couldn't quite put her claw on it, but she had a profound sense of danger approaching. It often made her fur stand on end, as if a storm was approaching. There had been no signs, but she had been edgy lately. Until she understood completely, she knew one thing for certain- RiverClan would need to be strong. Apprentices needed to be made warriors, and the clan needed to be feed. So what better way to kill two birds with one stone than to hunt and train at the same time?

Reedpaw slowly crept up, not looking her way. His gaze was situated firmly on his paws and he didn't make any sign of greeting. He'd been so conflicted these days... And with the recent banishment of Greyheart, he hadn't been very friendly with anybody lately. The apprentice should have been excited. It was his assessment. If he did well, he'd become a warrior. And as much as tried to get his spirits up, it wasn't working. But he needed a distraction from his thoughts, anyways, even if it was only temporarily...

Silvershade the trusty deputy appeared next to Froststar due to the power of roflicity.

Redpaw padded up to the two cats and sat without saying a word. He didn't look at anyone and acted as though he was the only one there. He stared down at his paws. After this, he be made a warrior. Still, Redpaw didn't care. His thoughts were fixed on when Greyheart had taken him hunting. He glanced up for a moment, looking Frostleap was there.

Stormpaw padded over to the group of cats. He didn't know what was going on, but everyone seemed rather glum.

Well, aren't we all just a cheerful little group? This isn't depressing at all. No, you guys aren't making me feel like a horrible leader. Not at all.
Froststar cleared her throat, not even bothering to put up an act of happiness. What was the use? They were all grieving, or silently despising her. Fun times. "Today will be your assessment. You'll be hunting, so catch three mice, fish, voles- I don't care- and then return here. Me and Silvershade will be observing you, but if you see either of us, don't let it distract you. Alright, go." She ordered briskly before flicking her tail in dismissal.
Pausing, she continued. "Good luck." She said gently.

Reedpaw pushed past her, diving into the water that protected RiverClan cat before re-emerging on the other side, not even bothering to shake the water out of his fur and broke through the reeds, rushing through. The river. That'd have to work out for now. He tried focusing on this task ahead. It was vitally important. As the reeds ended and the pebbly shore opened up to him, he couldn't help but think about his hunting patrol for Greyheart. She was the one who taught him how to fish. He shook the thoughts out of his head. FOCUS!

He slowed down when he made it to the river bank, wading paw-deep. A silver flash caught his eye, and with a hook of his paw he swooped down into the water. A fish was flung up in the air and landed on the rocks of land with a slap. It flopped desperately around before Reedpaw brought his head down, biting down hard on its neck before rapidly shaking. The fish's neck snapped instantly, making the prey's head hang at a crooked angle. With a satisfied smirk, he strutted over to the reeds. They always grew in deep damp soil. It'd be a good place to store them.

While Reedpaw was hunting fish, Stormpaw was stalking a vole in the reeds. He got into position and pounced, but missed by a tail-length. The vole, startled by the sudden movement, ran off.

Redpaw padded of to stand downriver. He stood, shadow out of the water. He waited for a fish to pass and he tried to pull it out. Anger flashed through him when he missed it.

Stormpaw turned his attention to the water. Perhaps he'd have better luck with fish than voles. He sat down beside the water and waited for some fish to swim past. When he saw one he slashed out at it with his claws extended. He hooked it with his claw and flung it up onto dry land beside himself.
