A Tree Falls (Semi-closed death topic for Midnee)

Bear was stalking the edges of the Windclan territory. His eyes scanned the moorlands for any activity. So far, he hadn't managed much progress. Slinking around the borders by himself had not gotten him much of anywhere. The large, brown tom wouldn't risk entering any clan territory without a larger group. By himself, he was a formidable opponent, bu he could not take on an entire clan of cats all by himself. A flicker of moment caught his attention. After tasting the air, he recognized it to be another tom. He would make a good addition, Bear noted. There didn't seem to be any other cats nearby. It was the perfect timing. And he wouldn't have to cross the border much since the warrior was very close. As the other cat approached, he leaped into the open a snarl breaking from his throat. No time to waste.

"My name is Bear. I am here recruiting cats to join my ground. Moor cat, you're coming with me," He extended his claws as he hissed just loud enough for the other cat to hear him. He did not want to draw attention to himself. His claws slid out into the dirt as he waited for a response.

Sprucethorn paced the border. He'd made sure to do this everyday since the birth of Twistedtail's kits. He loved like he would of loved his own kits, but the fact they belonged to Shadewillow always riled him up. Sprucethorn's claws slithered out of their fur sheathes as he thought about the bulky tom. I'll tear that fox heart apart! He won't stand a chance! He's brought so much pain to Twistedtail and her beautiful kits, they don't deserve this! If he dares to walk past..

The snapping of twigs caught Sprucethorn's attention. The chocolate brown tom whipped his head up, his ears flickered backwards as he searched for the culprit. His green eyes quickly picked up a large brown shape quickly moving towards him. Sprucethorn at first thought it was Shadewillow and charged forward, but upon realising it wasn't he slowed down.

Cautiously, the Tom circled the newcomer. He stared at the Tom challenging him. The pelt along his spine prickled slightly as he looked at the large muscular tom. The words the tom emitted shocked him, was this rogue really that stupid? "Why? I am a loyal WindClanner, I have a beautiful mate and kits, why would I leave? More importantly though, is the fact you think you can trespass on WindClan territory. Leave now, before I make you wish you never left your filthy little twolegs!" Sprucethorn hissed.

"I never had twolegs," Bear meowed indignantly, "I am not one of those disgusting house pets. Nor am I one of you stupid clan idiots. So wrapped up in following an old code." He laughed at Sprucethorn harshly, not at all intimidated. The rogue's eyes narrowed as he looked over the warrior. This 'Windclanner' had some fight in him. If he wasn't foolish enough to challenge Bear, he would be a wonderful addition to the barn group.

"Now, once more, I ask you to simply join me. If not, I will have no use for you, and I doubt you would want the alternative," His meow was flat, straight-forward. Bear was not messing around here. But he would also not let himself become frustrated by this cat.

"Stipid rogue." Sprucethorn muttered darkly. The tom lifted his chocolate brown head. "Leave now. I'm sure ShadowClan over there would like to join your group." he meowed flicking his tail towards a clump of line trees that marked the ShadowClan border.

"Wrong answer," Bear meowed, striking forwards as the words finished leaving his mouth. He was on the Windclan cat in an instant. Bear latched his claws into Sprucethorn's back, holding on tight. His jaws closed around the nape of the other tom's neck. Overall, he was firmly attached to his victim. Through the mouthful of fur, Bear let out a low hiss, "I'm going to give you one more chance to to make the right choice. I have no time for stupidity."

Sprucethorn howled in pain as Bear's claws tore into his flesh. The tom shook off the brown brute and whipped around his green eyes narrowing at the tom. "Stupidity... Stupidity is not understanding what no means. Now go!" he hissed stepping forward, Sprucethorn dug his sharp claws into the frozen ground, churning the hard dirt up. The tom lifted his gaze from his brown paw and turned it to Bear. "I said leave."

"I'm not going anywhere, moor cat," He spat back, eyes burning with frustration. This tom was being a problem. Bear did not like problems. A growl rumbled in his throat as he looked over Sprucethorn. This is going to be such a waste if I have to kill you, The rogue thought. However, he could care less whether or not this clan cat lived.

"You come with me or this is going to be your last moment!" He roared furiously, striking forwards, catching the side of Sprucethorn's face with unsheathed claws. Fire coursed though his veins, ready to kill if that's what it came down to. In the forest, he hadn't had the chance to kill any cat yet. The prospect was exciting.

Sprucethorn yowled furiously and leapt at the tom. His claws raked the Bear's back leaving deep gouges. As Sprucethorn landed he whipped around to face Bear eyes burning with fury. "Leave! I don't want to have to hurt you anymore... " he yowled furiously.

Bear gritted his teeth at the pain, but a dark grimace crossed his features. This was fun. He narrowed his eyes in a teasing glare.

"Do it!" He challenged in a snarl striking forwards once more. This time he used his weight to knock Sprucethorn's paws from underneath him. Before the warrior could stand back up, Bear was on top of him. His claws dug into the thick fur and he looked down at the large, Windclan tom.

"Give up yet?" The rogue hissed into his ear.

Hr didn't want to do it, but as he lay beneath Bear he realised he was serious and if Sprucethorn didn't want to fight he'd die without trying.

Sprucethorn kicked the tom off of him, leaving deep gouges on his poor opponent's stomach. "Fine! I'll teach you, you stupid rogue!" he spat rearing up on his hind legs and slamming them down on the rogue's head.

A sharp laugh broke from the tom's throat and he grinned eagerly at the challenge. His head roared for a moment, but Bear recovered fairly quickly and darted to the side. Once more his claws scored the clan cat's face. Afterwards, he leaped onto Sprucethorn's back digging his claws into the fur and skin again. After a second, he muzzle clamped down tightly into the Windclan tom's shoulder. A growl of satisfaction rumbled in his throat as he tasted the tang of blood.

Sprucethorn hissed angrily as he twisted in agony. The tom bunched his legs up and sprang forwards knocking the rogue off of him. He spun around as he landed and charged towards a dazed Bear, slamming his head into his opponent's chest. Sprucethorn smirked with satisfaction, it had been too long since he had had a good fight. "Is that all you got? I knew rogues were pathetic!" he taunted almost dancing on his paws like he use to do when he was an apprentice. "You're nothing compared to the clan cats I faced! You wouldn't stand two seconds against ShadowClan over there! They're real dirty fighters, more dirtier than you!" he hissed flicking his tail in the direction of ShadowClan's home. Maybe Sprucethorn could get this rogue to teach that pathetic Shadewillow a lesson.

Bear's eyes glittered darkly as he followed Sprucethorn's gaze to Shadowclan territory. The rogue flexed his claws as he met the Windclan cat's eyes once more. It surprised him to see the large tom almost dancing on his paws, but it wouldn't stop him. After a brief moment of not saying anything a grin covered his features and he meowed, "That's Shadowclan? I've already slain one of their warriors. If that's the best the forest has to offer, this will be easy. I'm just playing around, kit!" Bear yowled at him mockingly before leaping forwards.

The brown tom soared over his prey's head, landing steadily on his paws behind. He grabbed Sprucethorn's tail in his teeth, sinking down into the flesh and yanked backwards with all his might. Before the warrior could react, Bear moved forwards slightly to nip both side of his haunches. Much like with the shoulder wound, blood poured out and stained the ground of the moor beneath where they fought.

Sprucethorn gazed at the rogue in shock. There was no way some rogue like him could of killed a ShadowClan warrior. At the same time though, Sprucethorn began to smile, who had Bear killed? Wa it Shadewillow, or that Hazeflight. His moment of happiness was short lived as Bear tackled him to he ground. Sprucethorn scrambled to his paws hissing and spitting. The chocolate tom let out a snarl of pain and fury and blood raged in his ears. "I bet it was a kit. A poor defenceless kit that got lost. A lot of their kits wander off and get lost. You're pathetic killing a kit!" he hissed rather pathetically. The tom dug his claws into the ground and lifted his gaze to Bear's eyes. His green eyes narrows and Sprucethorn rushed forward leaping onto the other tom's back. He dug his claws in and began to tear out large chunks of his opponent's fur, spraying the ground with blood.

Bear snorted at Sprucethorn's retort, "It was far from a kit. Unless you consider yourself a kit." A low hiss of pain broke from his throat. The sting only further drove him to attack. Somehow the moor at had managed to get on his back. Quickly, he rolled over onto his back, crushing Sprucethorn underneath him and loosening the tom's grip. Once the warrior was on the ground, Bear leaped on top of him, pinning him to the ground with his soft underbelly up. His sides heaved with the effort of it all. However, a smile still crossed his maw. The rogue placed his unsheathed claws onto Sprucethorn's soft throat, letting them prickle the neck skin. It was a signature move of his. He loved the feel of his claws on the neck right before the kill.

"Still sticking to your clan morals, forest fool? Is this really how you'd like to go?" Bear snarled, ignoring the sting of wounds on his pelt.
