It was dawn when the figure started across the path. The sky was streaked with pale gold and pink, the clouds stained red in the light of the rising sun.

The cat froze, his bright red tail held up. His eyes widened as the monster hit him. He flew several feet in the air before landing with a smack on the ground. Gingerkit-Gingerpaw-Ginger. Whatever his name had been, he knew he was going.
