Snakepaw's Assessment [Closed]

Snakepaw looked up, turning his head around to find anything else. He smelled some lizard. He crept up, tail low but not too low. He found it sitting there. He leaped at it, and his left paw landed on it's tail. He snapped it's neck and carried it back. He looked around, and found the twig he put on the snow pile. He dug at it, and put the lizard with the frog. He covered it again, and put a different twig on it.

After seeing the three failure, Smokestripe smiled brightly when Snakepaw managed to catch not just one - but two pieces of prey in a row. Only a single piece of prey more was needed to finish this assessment. Yes, he had no doubt. Snakepaw would become a warrior. He purred quietly from where he watched the apprentice, already looking forward to telling Thrushstar of this.

Snakepaw looked around, listening for a sound and listening for some scent of prey. He soon found the scent of another lizard. He started to creep up to it. It ran from something, he didn't make a noise, but didn't hear anything. He started to smell something else.

Snakepaw identified toad. He crawled to it. He leaped for it. He almost got it, it still fled.

Snakepaw then saw a frog. It was near a puddle of muddy water. He started to creep up to it. He slowly went behind it. He finally pounces. He got his claws to get a grip on it. The frog soon died, and he carried it to the pile. Knowing he got three, he dug up the other frog and lizard.

Despite the miss, Snakepaw quickly caught his last prey as Smokestripe watched with a grin. As the apprentice dug up his other caught prey, the warrior stepped from the shadow with a loud purr. "You did it, Snakepaw," he meowed as he strolled up to the tom. "Let's get this prey back to camp and I'll inform Thrushstar at once that you are ready to become a warrior." Leaning down, he picked up the two pieces of prey that Snakepaw had just uncovered before jerking his head in the direction of the camp, leading the apprentice back home.

Snakepaw smiled and picked up the lizard. He started to walk in the direction of camp.
