Patrol(open)

Hazepaw was itching to leave camp,there was nothing here for her.Moonpaw was dead and Eaglepaw taken by twolegs and she had watched all this.Hazepaw felt helpless and lazy.Might as well go on a patrol then,she thought.The silver apprentice sat there waiting for other cats to join her,she doubted any would come with her reputation.

Darkpaw watched from the distance as Hazepaw sat near the entrance of the camp. She padded up to the bored apprentice. "What are you up to?" She said.

"oh,hi Darkpaw.I thought I'd organise a patrol,you wanna come?"Hazepaw meowed.Hopefully Darkpaw would join her.She needed some more friends,but maybe Darkpaw would end up like Moonpaw and Eaglepaw.Please don't,Hazepaw silently begged.

Mousefang, fully enjoying his new status as a warrior and not a dumb apprentice, strolled along the camp until he heard of Hazepaw and Darkpaw's plans to go on patrol. He and his step-sister had clashed a few times, but more often than not he found himself thinking positively of her. Even if he didn't necessarily want to. She was just fun to pick on, that was all, but things seemed like they had been hard for her lately. The new warrior changed course and stalked over to the two she-cats, tail waving in the air and body language completely relaxed. "Hey, slackers. You shouldn't leave camp without a big, strong warrior like me to keep you safe." He meowed, proud despite his small size making him only a whisker taller than either apprentice.

Hazepaw sighed."Who you calling slack?Anyway brawn doesn't make up for brains,which unfortunately you don't have."she snapped with a smirk.His new status as warrior hadn't changed anything besides it wouldn't be long till she was a warrior.

"Yea sure!" He replied to Hazepaw.

She stepped backwards when Mousefang walked towards them. Mousefang doesn't have brains. She thought as she watched in amusement while Hazepaw and Mousefang argued back and forth.

Having seen the warriors and apprentices at the entrance to the tunnel, he raced over, and started bounding around them.

"Ooh!! Can I come?! A patrol sounds fun!!" Ironically enough, not being afraid of the large warriors, but still nervous around kits his age. He ran in and around their legs, and then tripped, rolled forward and landed sitting up, and started giggling. He ended up right in front of the patrol.

Hazepaw looked at the kit and stifled a laugh."Wait until your an apprentice.A kit like you shouldn't be wandering around the forest with us,it's really dangerous out there"she meowed.The forest was dangerous and full of animals just waiting to attack a kit like Rustkit but that hadn't stopped Hazepaw,when she was his age.The apprentice sighed she was being rather hypocritical but it was for his own good.

"Well, that was uncalled for." He meowed simply, not taking the bait. It was fairly entertaining to watch the both of them smirk at him like they'd just made a dent in his honor. Mousefang had never even had a conversation with Darkpaw before, let alone made a judgement of her, so he didn't bother addressing her. "Are we going to stand around or actually go somewhere?" He wasn't keen on leading patrols. The apprentices could run it for all he cared. He just had to prove to Thrushstar that he hadn't made a mistake when he gave him his ceremony. The warrior looked down in mild surprise at Rustkit's sudden appearance, drawing away slightly. He didn't like kits too much. They were fragile and easily hurt when you played with them too roughly. "Yes, you'll get a chance. We all did. Just wait a while." Was all he offered in advice.

"Well,we're not slackers and you're not that strong.We'd be fine on our own but if you want to come with us silly little apprentices,then sure." Hazepaw meowed with a hint of sarcasm.She watched Mousefang back slightly away from the kit,she grinned.Mousefang looked pretty funny backing away from the tiny kit.Hazepaw glanced over at Darkpaw who wore an amused expression."Lets go,I hate camp."she looked at the others then padded along the patrol route.

Darkpaw followed Hazepaw swiftly, hoping she might catch a sparrow or two to feed the clan. Too lost in her thoughts, she tripped over a branch and landed on a bramble bush. "Fox-Dung!" She yowled as the thorns dugged into her black pelt.

Hazepaw sniggered as she stumbled into the brambles."I didn't know brambles were prey,but your welcome to try it!"she meowed grinning.The cold of Leaffall had really taken it's toll on ShadowClan food was scarce and rumours were that some cats were already going to the Carrion place to eat.Hazepaw scented the air maybe there would be some prey scampering around but it was unlikely.

Darkpaw shook her pelt as the thorns fell out one by one. She then tugged on a thorn the was buried deep in her flesh. "OW" She said as the thorn popped out. "Go catch a bramble yourself!" She hissed as she grabbed a pawful of thorns and threw it towards Hazepaw.

IC: Mousefang's eyes went a little colder. He hadn't done anything to provoke Hazepaw today, so why was she being so bothersome? He followed behind the two apprentices and laughed as well when Darkpaw tripped into the bramble bush. Mousefang held his tongue, sensing her fiery temper flaring, and instead gazed his step-sister. She had a bit of a cruel streak to her, didn't she? They weren't really related, but perhaps they were alike. "Let's not scare off all the prey left, shall we?" He remarked, stepping past the two and carrying on with the patrol, careful to not step on any loose thorns.

Hazepaw kept back as Darkpaw chucked the thorns at her."Brambles are to easy to catch for me."she meowed"That's why I thought you should give it a try,"Hazepaw carefully stepped over the scattered thorns and followed behind Mousefang.She glanced back at Darkpaw who was picking out the thorns in her soft black pelt.The silver She-cat had to be cold and independent because every time she was close to a cat they seemed to die or something awful like that.Strange as it was the She-cat seemed to watch all this happen she'd seen Moonpaw die and Eaglepaw bundled up in the arms of two leg cubs.She didn't want any of that happening anymore.
