Magpiekit and Sagekit's Apprentice Ceremony

Vixenheart leaped on top of the Tallbranch with a small smile on her muzzle. Another apprentice ceremony! That was good news to hear, considering that SkyClan wasn't the biggest Clan in the forest.
"Let all cats old enough to climb a tree gather beneath the Tallbranch for a Clan meeting!"

Magpiekit silently filed out of the nursery, her face expressionless. She took a seat towards the back, curling her tail around her paws and staring straight ahead at Vixenheart.

Sagekit bounced out of the nursery, a wide grin on his face. He plonked himself down near the front, smiling at the deputy.

Fawnsplash rose to her paws when she heard Vixenhearts call. Another apprentice ceremony probably. She thought with a smile as she saw Sagekit bounce excitedly out of the nursery followed by Magpiekit who didn't seem very excited but she assumed it was hers as well. When she got to Tallbranch she sat down and wrapped her fluffy tail around her paws neatly before resting her pale amber gaze on the deputy.

"Sagekit and Magpiekit, please step forwards." Vixenheart said, as soon as the two soon-to-be apprentices had arrived at the meeting.

Magpiekit smiled, slightly as she stepped forward, gazing up at Vixenheart expectantly. This was just the first step of many.
Sagekit was grinning from ear to ear as he bounded up. He beamed at the deputy, then at Magpiekit, who returned it with nothing but a cold gaze. What was her problem? he thought, but he decided to focus on the more important thing here: he was becoming an apprentice!

"We are gathered here today to make these two kits apprentices," Vixenheart began, "Sagekit and Magpiekit, you have reached the age of six moons, and it is time for you to be apprenticed. From this moment forwards, you two will be known as Sagepaw and Magpiepaw. Magpiepaw, your mentor will be Breezewhisker. Sagepaw, I will mentor you."
When the cheering for the new apprentices began, Vixenheart leaped down and touched noses with her new apprentice, Sagepaw, and ended the ceremony.

Pineeye sat behind his daughter with a nearly blank expression, but he held incredibly pride in his eyes. When the ceremony was finished, he cheered, "Magpiepaw! Magpiepaw!"

Breezewhisker started with surprise as his name was called as Magpiepaw's mentor. He went over to touch noses with the she-cat. "I'm not the deputy, but I promise I'll be a good mentor," he purred.

Magpiepaw touched noses with Breezewhisker, her face showing no emotion save for a tiny glimmer in her eye. I'm an apprentice now. The first step to show them who's the best.

Sagepaw did the same with Vixenheart, but he didn't even try to hide how he felt. "I can't wait to train! I'm gonna fight for SkyClan! His blue eyes shone with excitement.
