Blizzardshine was a heavy sleeper, so as soon as she fell asleep near to Cloverpool and the rest of her clanmates she hadn’t noticed anything until the moon left the skies and her well trained body woke with the first rays of sunshine. She blinked several times before shaking her head, looking at the gathering cats with curiosity as the last traces of drowsiness left her body, it didn’t took her too long to figure out what was happening.
Without losing a single second she quickly got up and padded towards the elder’s body, hoping that her ears were deceiving her, but instead only found the cruel truth…Coverpool had left them to join the ranks of StarClan during their sleep. She felt somehow glad with the knowledge that she at least died peacefully in her sleep, surrounded by family and friends, something not many clan cats could achieve. Taking a deep breath and lowering her ears, she silently mourned the old she-cat that had always been there even before she was born.
Her teary eyes landed on Mothkit, gently placing her fluffy tail on the young she-cat’s shoulder, trying her best to give her a comforting smile but only managing to come up with a weak smile thanks to her own sadness “Dead means…that she won’t wake up, Mothkit…that even if her body is still with us, Cloverpool is now a member of StarClan, and is watching over us from the skies” Her voice, though kind as always, now held a clear tone of grief, as she tried to explain this the best way she could to the kit without causing any negative emotions within her “This night, look at the stars, you will see a new one shinning between them…that star is Cloverpool” Her voice trembled softly with her words, turning her head to look at the old she-cat’s body as a tear ran down her white face. She was going to miss her so much…and only hoped to see her again one day alongside all those she had lost in her past, when the proper time came.
