| Darkflower had only ever wanted to protect her family, and she had failed. She had failed herself, and her father. Lilypaw had fled in the dead of night, and she had not gone after her, and StarClan knew what had happened to the rest of her family. She was so alone. She'd been washed up battered, and aching somewhere unfamiliar. Some of her clan had been there, but she'd stopped caring. She'd tried so hard, countless times, to keep her family safe, and now she was so so tired.
She'd washed up almost a moon ago, and honestly she'd felt better then even if it was far colder and prey far more scarce. Darkflower stood up, her tail slinking after her, as she headed for her make shift den. It wasn't much, just some weeds, sticks and leaves she'd chucked together. The interior was like any other den, it had enough space for two cats and moss for bedding. Darkflower shuffled inside, letting out a throaty cough, as she kneaded the moss beneath her. It wasn't fresh, and it was growing old and dry, but it was better than sleeping on the rough and uneven forest floor. The white faced cat stretched, and settled into the moss, her head resting on her paws. Her throat burned and she felt so tired. Another cough sounded from within he den.
Darkfower was sick and she'd only just begun to realise it. To make matters worse she hadn't bothered to see any medicine cats, not that it'd help seeing as all their herbs and magic healing plants, or whatever, had been swept away in the flood. Darkflower sighed deeply, closing her eyes. Her throat burned as she in haled, causing her to break into another a coughing fit, and pain wracked her sore and aching body. She was too young to die so weakly, she'd always been a fighter. But her head pounded, her muscles ached and she just wanted to sleep, to rest. She was so so tired. Darkflower wanted to stay awake, but everything else seemed to want her to sleep, perhaps for the better. Maybe she'd feel better in the morning.
Darkflower coughed again, pain coursing through her, and closed her eyes one last time.
When Darkflower awoke, she felt rested and at ease. She didn't ache all over and she didn't to cough and splutter. She didn't even notice that she wasn't in her makeshift den, or that everything seemed so slightly unearthly, including herself. She felt content for the first time in far too long. ______________________________________ silverdusk | thunderclan | tier five warrior | 70/200 | #99cc99 louse | rogue | tier three rogue | 55/140 | #669966 nettleweaver | shadowclan | npc tier three warrior | 50/130 | #996666 viperpaw| windclan | apprentice | 20/40 | #b3b300 petalkit | thunderclan | kit | 15/30 | #e6b0aa clovermottle | RiverClan | npc perma queen | 50/80 | #ff9966pinterest boards | plotting pages | character profiles | heartchart |
