The Clover's pool shines no more.. (OPEN DEATH TOPIC)

Blacktwig pressed up against his great great grandmother. He purred like a motor engine, curling his tail around his pretty hazel-eyed daughter. He brushed his tail along his speckled pelt, getting drowsy.

Mothkit drifted off to sleep, purring as she did so.

Cloverpool purred and turned to Blacktwig. The rain dropped down on the den like a lullaby, lulling her to sleep, but she knew if she closed her eyes they wouldn't open again. "Go to sleep my grandchildren. All will be fine in the morning." She meowed, her voice soothing.

Blacktwig shook his head. "Nah, I'm staying awake," he said somewhat stubbornly, but calmly. He could feel the small shape of Mothkit curled up against him, just a warm little bundle, like when she was born.

Cloverpool purred and groomed her grandson's ears. "Blacktwig don't overexert yourself dear. Your leg won't heal with out rest." She meowed flicking her tail.

Blacktwig nodded, inching his leg uneasily at the mention of it, he gave up and succumbed and closed his eyes to rest.

Cloverpool sighed in happiness and laid her head down and whispered. "I love you all. Take care my family.." She then closed her eyes for the last time before drifting off into sleep. Somewhere late in the night her breathing stopped. In the morning it was still raining, a full on storm now, and Cloverpool did not awaken the next morning.

Mothkit yawned and opened her eyes. She listened to the rain for a while, and didn't notice Cloverpool had died.

Blacktwig awakened in the night, not noticing that Cloverpool's flank didn't rise and fall like usual. Annoyed by the storm raging outside, he clutched Mothkit close to him, and didn't realize that Cloverpool's body temperature was slowly dropping.

Mothkit blinked up at her father and purred, nuzzling him.

Blacktwig touched his nose affectionately to his daughter's, then gestured for her to go to sleep again through the violently pattering drops and thunder claps.

Mothkit nodded. "Do you think the storm woke up Cloverpool as well?" She meowed innocently.

"Ah, she's a deep sleeper," Blacktwig purred, although uncertain. Though he did a good job of making his tone sound reassuring, and he curled up in the back of the hollow, scratching at the ground for Mothkit to come over on tiny paws.

Mothkit followed and snuggled up with her father again.

Blacktwig smiled at Mothkit, and soon began feeling the tug of sleep dragging him into a whimsical world of... I don't know.

Mothkit purred and fell asleep again.

OOC: next time he wakes up he should notice Cloverpool's dead

Blacktwig woke up to the sight of the dawn's light bathing the den. He yawned a bit, and got up. He first nudged his daughter, then glanced to the others. He nudged Stormstrike after, wanting to save Cloverpool for last.
