Storms are Dappled With Life [Birth Topic - Open]

(Using an NPC Dapplecloud just for this birth topic.)

Dapplecloud had been lying in the nursery for quite a while now, dreaming of the kits she was soon to have with Stormstrike. She could clearly remember when she was an apprentice and had grown a crush on the blue-gray tom, and now they would be having kits together. How fortunate was that? The tortoiseshell she-cat looked down at her swollen belly with a small snort of laughter. She had never imagined to see herself in this state. Dapplecloud rolled onto her back so that she could clearly see the ceiling of the nursery. It had all seemed peaceful and calm, until all of the sudden, pain shot through her.
"Gah!" She yowled in pain, and plus there was the shock that went through her as well.
Was it happening? Were the kits coming? Was this it? Was she about to become a mother? The tortoiseshell hissed as more pain flew through her. She needed Dreamleaf, and Stormstrike!
"Dreamleaf?! S-Stormstrike!" She screeched as loud as she could.

Stormstrike had just come back from a hunting patrol, and it was excellent timing to, because right as he finished dropping his newly-caught prey into the pile, he heard his mate's panicked voice from the nursery. His ears flattened against his head as he rushed in. He noticed that his mate was in pain...were the kits coming? He was panicked as well, and he lashed his tail in fright.
"Hold on, love. It'll be okay. Just breathe. I'm going to fetch Dreamleaf." He said, soothingly, trying to stay calm for the sake of Dapplecloud. He darted out of the nursery, heading for the medicine den.
"Dreamleaf! The kits are coming!" He said to Dreamleaf, before quickly leaving. He was right back in the nursery soon after, sitting beside his mate and nuzzling her head to comfort her.

Blacktwig rushed into the Nursery, steps loud with panic. "H-Hmm?" He questioned with a low rumble in his voice, before noticing the queen who was clearly in pain. "Oh, Dapplecloud!" He yowled, voice rising with terror. He was instantly reminded of his mother's kitting, and his fur bristled with alarm. "D-Don't worry, Dreamleaf is coming soon." He assured, certain that the possibly crabby she-cat would snap back.

OOC: ah sorry! I'm trying to find ways to get on here still!

IC: Dreamleaf bundled up some herbs at the call and hurried out of her den and into the nursery. She dropped the herbs in front of the queen and instructed her to eat the herbs she set out. She then laid a stick and some wet moss down.
"When I say push, I want you to push. Push," Dreamleaf commanded when she felt the convulsion.

(It's okay! There's no rush! Also, just for the sake of keeping this orderly, they'll be born in order of how you three volunteered to make kits. So, Acrylic's kit first, then Thin's kit, then Mozy's kit.)

She wanted to flick her tail in greeting Blacktwig, who was the cousin of her mate, but she was in too much pain to even acknowledge him. Dapplecloud gratefully lapped up the herbs that she had been instructed by Dreamleaf to eat, but then another wave of pain washed over her. She bit down on the stick, beginning to push right after the medicine cat told her to push. She felt one of her kits begin to come out.

Stormstrike flicked his ear in greeting to Blacktwig, yet he was still worried for his mate, he repeatedly brushed his tail over the tortoiseshell queen's back.
"Push and breathe...push and breathe..." He said, soothingly, over and over again.

Blacktwig set himself down in a comfortable spot, then decided to help out. "Just, push when you feel the urge," he commanded, though he was no medicine cat. He tried to allow Dreamleaf most of the help for Dapplecloud, since he had just become a warrior.

The she-cat felt the urge again, and pushed as hard as she could. The next thing Dapplecloud could tell was that a kit had fallen out. It was a little tortoiseshell kitten, just like her. She let out a small purr, seeing her beautiful daughter, but then more pain shot through her.
After a few more pushes, her other two kits had came out as well. She could feel no more pain, and she honestly glad that it was over. She then looked up at her mate, smiling.
"Here they are, Stormstrike," She purred, "Your kits."

As soon as the first kit plopped out, Stormstrike just stared at it with love in his expression, he padded over, beginning to lick the kit just as he had seen the other queens do it before. He now had kits, it was as if his life had gone by so fast, and he still had life ahead of him to live. He set the tortoiseshell she-kit by Dapplecloud to begin suckling. He did the same with the other two kits, and then glanced at all of them, and his mate, with a purr.
"No, they're our kits." He corrected, laying down beside his mate and nuzzling her shoulder.

Blacktwig's face beamed with pride for Stormstrike. His tail wrung over the grey tom's broad shoulder, purring instinctively. "You're a father now, Stormstrike," he said, with a long sigh after he relaxed from the commotion.

A dusty small she-kit squirmed as she was pushed out of a warm place into a cold cruel world. She felt her father pick her up, his jaw lifted her as she felt her paws get picked up off the ground. She began to suckle next to her siblings, mewing every once in a while.

The little tortoiseshell let out a mewl as soon as she was born, and she could feel her paws being lifted off of the ground for a moment before being placed beside something warm. Out of instinct, the soon-to-be-named Halfkit began to suckle.

Morningshine had heard the noise that Stormstrike had made before Dapplecloud began kitting, and she had been put into a panicked flurry during that time. She had been sitting outside of the nursery, waiting for the tortoiseshell queen to stop kitting, but after she heard the she-cat stop yowling, she padded in, her eyes wide with curiosity.
She stopped in her tracks as she saw the three kits that belonged the Dapplecloud and Stormstrike, and she instantly began purring.
"Oh my goodness, they're beautiful!"

When the soon-to-be-named Shadekit was born she let out a quiet but adoble mew as she felt herself be lifted up. When she was let doen she was surronded my warmth scents filling her nose. On instink the kit began to suckle along with her sisters. Her front paws against her mother's side.

Blacktwig glanced down at them, blinking and purring warmly. As he watched the small kits suckle, he wondered what it would be like to have his own. The soon-to-be-named Halfkit's appearance resembled her mother's greatly.

Dapplecloud continued to smile, looking down at her kits. She noticed the one that resembled her had a face with two different fur colors. It seemed to be half black and half ginger.
"Can we name this one Halfkit? Because, of her face? I'm not saying her face is ugly, it just...suits her." She said.

Stormstrike purred, "That's a beautiful name. How about we name the brown one Sparrowkit, and the last one Shadekit?" He asked, touching his muzzle gently to each kit as he recommended names.

Dapplecloud nodded, "That sounds perfect. Welcome to the world, my kits, Sparrowkit, Shadekit, and Halfkit."

"Those are perfect names," Blacktwig complimented, joy welling up in the flecked tom's large, blue orbs. He felt a pang of envy he couldn't have named one of the kits himself, however, they weren't his.
