Two Apprentices just Chillin [Closed]

Wasppaw sat at the edge of camp. The night sky dancing with stars above. His tail was flicking occasionally to signal he was still awake, and there was also the fact that his eyes were half open. He was still trying to adjust to being awake at night. Back with the exiles he was awake during the day with everyone else, but now that the clans were back he had to get used to how Shadowclan was run. The young apprentice watched his clan mates move about while he just decided to be lazy for the time being.

Hawkpaw exited the den quietly. She and Mousepaw weren't much of friends; Hawkpaw was told by Tigerflower that she got that from her father. Her ears flicked in annoyance at that thought. As she settled down to an orangey apprentice, Beepaw was it? she thought about her father who had abandoned her for his older kits. It was a strange idea, thinking that she had an older half-brother in WindClan. It bothered her. Would she be like her father? Angry and controlling and so ambitious he would put a family behind? The young she-cat hoped not. Almost haphazardly, Hawkpaw glanced down, the sudden movement causing her to loose her balance a little. "Sorry... Um Beepaw." she murmured, settling down next to him a little bit away.

"Wasppaw." He corrected as soon as she said Beepaw. He didn't think he looked like a bee. Maybe if he was a lighter color then he could be a Beepaw, but he wasn't he was Wasppaw. "You seem lost, Hawkpaw." He said to her, referring to how she was sucked into her thoughts and other drama that was going on.

A hot flash burned her pelt as she laughed awkwardly. "Sorry, Wasppaw. My mind is so busy." She scooted closer upon her lost comment, keeping her head down and her eyes trained on the ground. "Yeah it's just. Yeah, lost is a good way to describe it." A couple heartbeats past in silence. "My father is a WindClan cat that moved here and then left me." she said suddenly, saying nothing more.

His tail hit the ground one last time then settled down for the moment since the conversation was keeping him awake now. "It's fine." He said. His brown eyes looked towards her in slight concern. She was really going through something huh? He didn't really know what to say to her to make her feel better, but he could try right? "Well you still have your mom, and you have the clan. So what if your father is gone?" He said. The clan was important, everyone was basically family.

"I mean, I suppose." Hawkpaw murmured... Turning to face Wasppaw. "Who's your father?" she asked in her quiet voice. Soft and warm with an undertone of the sickness of depression.

"My father is Mudfoot. It's hard to find him sometimes.. He always seems busy.." He said with a hint of sadness in his voice, but his father was a warrior he had things to do. "But have Tigerflower, and Ferretshine both there in the nursery while we were growing up was nice." He said going through some memories he had after returning to camp and being in the nursery with the rest of them.

Hawkpaw nodded. "Tigerflower is my mother. She is very kind, but really sad since my father left." Her tail flicked slowly, in a steady rhythem. "Do you ever wish you were in a different clan?" she asked, hardly above a whisper.

Wappaw shook his head. "No. I like Shadowclan, I would rather not end up away from it again." He was born in the twoleg place and only heard stories of the actual thing. But now that he was here, he didn't want to lose it every again. It was far too important to him. He looked at her from the side of his eyes. He couldn't help but wonder. "Do you want to leave Hawkpaw?" He asked in the same low whisper.

"No." she said forcibly, a little louder than she meant to. Embaressed, Hawkpaw tried again. "No." She said softly. "I just wonder if I was in WindClan, if my father would have loved me." Her heart ached and she craved her father more than anything. When he was here, he was affectionate. She was his third born, the first of his second litter, named after a bird of prey that he had killed and a bird of prey like he was. Even her name was a sadistic reminder and constant connection. Her claws unsheathed and she stared down. She would be a better warrior than her father.

Wasppaw sort of flinched at her reaction. He wasn't going to judge her if she wanted to, but he guess he didn't exactly make that clear. "Well you have Tigerflower, and you have the clan. We all love you and support you. Even I'm here for you." The brown apprentice said. He didn't like seeing a clanmate this way. "So what if he isn't here? I will support you and cheer you on and I'm sure there are others who will do the same." He wasn't really good with this type of situation but he was trying.

Hawkpaw tilted her brown head, eyeing Wasppaw. "Would you like to train super hard with me? We can be the best warriors in the forest and then my father will be really mad he left our clan." Her father's ambition ran through her blood. What more could she do but follow it? Instead of being leader, she would focus on being an amazing warrior.

"Yeah, we can train together." The golden apprentice said. He wouldn't mind doing that. Having someone to keep him active and working? Yeah he would certainly get to be a strong warrior like that. He was glad that she wanted to prove her father wrong it was a good drive to have. "It sounds like a good plan, though I don't want to start right now. I want to relax for the night while we have some peace." Wasppaw mewed.

Hawkpaw nodded, starting to feel a sense of comfort witht he tom. "Sure. The stars are pretty great tonight." Hawkpaw decided as she trained her blue eyes to the stars.

Wasppaw nodded, settling down again. He needed to stay awake since that is what Shadowclan did. They were awake at night while the other clans slept. "It's nice to be able to see them. Back in the twoleg place while the clans were exiled you couldn't see them since there was light from the twolegs.." He said to Hawkpaw. Looking up at the stars shining brightly above. He remembered how he would stare at the sky pondering on the stories he was told about the clans.
