Hawks! (Closed Event)

Finchpaw soon awakened to see cats fighting, she looked at Ashwing and back at the fighting cats. She gathered her strength to get back up and fight for the clan, she joined Maizepaw and pinned down the other wing this time more violently. She kept on biting the wing repeatedly.

"Finish him off!" Pinedusk yowled, sinking his claws into the hawk before lunging off to help Rowancloud. The cuts on his face barely fazed him, along with the pecks on his front legs. He lunged at the hawk, pinning it down for a moment. However, his paws slipped whilst trying to help Rowancloud claw it, and it got free. He attempted to claw at its neck.

The hawk screeched in pain as it pecked at Saltpelt's face. It howled as it's wing was broken and it was beaten. It feared for it's own safety. So, it shook itself free by clawing and pecking them several times. I knocked Maizepaw off first, pecking furiously at him. While doing that, it struggled to thrash at Mothpaw and Sablestar at the same time, all while trying to fly with it's broken wing. It was overwhelmed.

The second bird screeched, pecking furiously at Foxpaw. It eventually brushed him aside, finishing off their piece of battle by chomping down, hard, which it's beak onto Foxpaw's front leg, hoping to break it. The bird, in defiance and nervousness for its companions, decided to help the third bird out first. It rushed straight at Pinedusk, flapping his wings as it thrashed at him. It grasped Pinedusk by his shoulders, heaving as it tried to lift him up and fly him to their nest. Pinedusk yowled and clawed the bird, but it was difficult to get them to let him go.

Finchpaw struggled on the bird loosing her balance some of the time. She moved up to the hawks chest and clawed it fiercely, she gipped onto its neck by rapping her hind legs and front legs around its nest and chest. She slowly moved up getting to its head she tried to stay focused, Finchpaw scrapped its head hoping for it to finally die.

IC: The tom flew to the ground with a thud as he was thrown off the large bird and mugged with a wave of deadly pecks. His face and body was scarred with deep gashes and cuts, which bled out and turned his pink fur a crimson color. Scarlet liquid dripped down into his eyes, and he blinked the blood away as he stumbled to his feet and sucked in heavy, ragged breaths. Maizepaw's yellow orbs landed on Pinedusk, who was being dragged away by a hawk. "No," the apprentice yowled as he limped after the warrior. "Pinedusk, hold on! We'll save you!" He couldn't let one of his clan mates die, he just couldn't.

The apprentice felt a surge of aggression as he continued to attack the bird. He heard Foxpax's yell over all thread noise and moved to the other apprentice. He had no idea how many hawks there actually were. At times it felt like three, others it felt like thirty. "You'll rue the day you thought WindClan to be easy prey!" he hissed. He could feel his ear stinging, probably injured by a flailing talons but he didn't care. He wouldn't stop until every one of these things were dead.

Ashwing leapt on top of the hawk that was attacking Pinedusk. She clawed at it as hard as she could. "I will not let any more of you mousebrained birds kill my Clanmates," she hissed angrily.

The hawk screeched in defiance again, knocking off Ashwing quickly as it dragged Pinedusk up. Pinedusk struggled, but he couldn't get out of it's grip. Higher and higher, Pinedusk was really scared now. The hawk soon spotted an easier target- Maizepaw. He'd be easier since he was wounded. Thinking nothing of Pinedusk, when he was about thirty feet in the air, the hawk dropped him and flew straight at Maizepaw, non-stop.

Ooc: Thanks for leaving me behind guys!

Kestrelstorm was calm on the inside. His gaze had decided who to help. Palepaw or Foxpaw? Both were his apprentice. However, Foxpaw was older and could help himself easier. But the flurry of wings did confuse him and he lept at the hawk Foxpaw was being bit by. He couldn't help it; his love for Foxpaw drove him to care for him first. With a terrified screech he lept onto the hawk's back. His body was almost as big as the hawk's and he was able to grip the bird in a hug like matter. His jaw gripped the neck of the hawk as he thrashed violently from side to side.

Finchpaw saw the hawk heading straight for Maizepaw, she leaped down from the hawk and landed on the ground. She shook off her fur "Maizepaw look out!" she yowled.

OOC- Rewriting his death scene.

IC- Pinedusk landed on the ground with a thud, but managed to get up, just barely. Quick on his stunned paws, he lunged in front of Maizepaw and took the hawks blow, leaving his head and chest quite mangled from the impact of the hawk. Its beak has smashed in his chest and chin terribly, so he shook and he dropped dead in front of Maizepaw. The hawk fell from the impact, and their beak was terribly injured and broken. It flew off, not quite dead, but turned in a caw of resignation from the fight.

Meanwhile, Pinedusk lay motionless with a bashed in body on the ground, blood trickling out of his mouth as his eyes glazed over.

Harepaw slashed at the hawks eyes as Kestrelstorm gripped it's neck, blinding the bird, his heart beating fast in the heat of battle, his first battle. The apprentice hissed, his short fur stood on end. The tom heard the chaos around him but, his gaze was fixed to the hawk in front of him. Out of the corner of his eye, something broke that gaze, it seemed to be nothing more than a grey-now blotted with crimson- heap but sadly it wasn't. As he put the pieces together he felt stuck, fixed, paralyzed to the ground. His paws were as helpful as stones, doing nothing no matter how hard he tried.

OOC: What hawk will do the honors? Harepaw needs to lose an eye before this is over.

Foxpaw felt the weight of the bird being pushed off of him to reveal that Kestrelstorm was viscously fighting the bird, "Thank goodness you two came, the fall must have hurt my paw, but don't worry we can still do this." He said sharply at the seriousness of the matter, he was more than happy that his mentor came over to save him and that only motivated him even more.

"Pinedusk! No!" Saltpelt screeched as her brother plummeted down from the hawk's claws, his body hitting the earth in a wet thud. But he got up, for a second, her chest was filled with hope. He'd be fine, her brother was fine. But all of her hopes were dashed again as he ran back into the fray, getting further injured by the hawks. Saltpelt wanted to chase after the bird, tear it to shreds for what it'd done, but her brother needed her more. The white tabby raced over to his side, looking down at her brother's glazed eyes and realising the bitter truth. Pinedusk was gone.

"No. Nonono! Pinedusk! Please! Someone! Gorsefeather! Emberleaf!" She yowled desperately for someone to come and help her. Her own paws and face were bloody, but she didn't care. She grabbed her brother's body by the scruff, dragging him under one of the gorse bushes.

Foxpaw heard the urgent cries coming from Saltpelt and raced over to the pair, "No! Quick what should we do?" He cried searching or any herbs in sight, feeling more like a burden than a help. "Is he breathing at all? Emberleaf come quick!" He called once more with a few leaves to apply to wombs as no cobwebs were in sight.

They were winning weren't they? Although bruised and bloodied surely they were winning. Then Saltpelt's cries sounded through the noise. Mothpaw turned his head to see the pale she-cat pulling the tattered fur of Pinedusk to shelter. His blood turned to ice as apprehension settled in his bones. He moved towards her and got there just after Foxpaw had also arrived to help. Mothpaw felt helpless, only thinking to keep an eye on the skies for trouble all the while wondering how bad this all was. He let out a seething hiss of fury and frustration.
