Sliding into Home [Open for TC - Staff Generated Event]

Petalpaw heard more cats' screams, but she knew Marshpaw was nearest her. She could feel the vibrations of his thrashing through the dirt, and her heart did a flittery-fluttery thing that she immediately felt embarrassed about. Her heart was beating quickly, not just out of fear, as she scrabbled against the dirt that barred her from Marshpaw.

"Marshpaw!" she screamed through the dirt. "Can you hear me? Marshpaw!" She clawed further into the dirt until her claw hit a tuft of fur. "Marshpaw, is that you?"

OOC: With permission from higher ups, once charrie of mine is not trapped (since I didn't post at all during this) but the rest are trapped.

IC: All fours cats, Spottedstar, Nightfire, Oliveheart, and Echostrike got buried underneath the wave of dirt. All but Nightfire screeched.

A wave of dirt consumed him, but his huge frame, held most of it off. He was mostly under, but using his bulk he shoved the rock above him off. Looking around, Specklefur had already gave order and Beanpaw was getting an apprentice out of the ground. Turning to the long fur next to him, he heard his younger sister screeching in anger. He'd rather shut that up, so he started to shove the rocks off of her first.

Echostrike started to screech in anger. Stupid rocks, stupid dirt, stupid everything. "Someone get me!" she yowled, not in panic but more of impatience. The rocks moved and there was Nightfire. "Finally..." she grumbled, and started looking around.

All Miles heard was Robinflight's sudden gasp of horror and then a sound like the ominous roar of thunder, only far too close for comfort. The pain of suddenly being piled with something very hard and rather pointed was a complete shock, and he cried out in a mixture of surprise and pain. It was once chilly, but body heat began filling the limited space around him and he felt enclosed in what he could not see. Distantly, past some sort of sound barrier, he could hear the Clan cats screeching and shrieking for help. When there was the sound of someone giving a great heave and then of a rock being turned over, there was fresh air and Miles drew a deep breath. "Come on, then. There are others to help." Came the she-cat's voice, ushering away the dread that had built up in his chest.

Robinflight glanced around the wreck that was the camp clearing. Not everybody was able to make it out, it seemed. There was a good chance that the rest were alive, but no doubt there would be casualties. The calico's head was pounding; a rock had struck a heavy blow to her head and she could see the blood dripping from the wound on her forehead into her eyes. But there was no time to worry about herself. She nodded at Nightfire and Echostrike, glad to see them well, yet still worried for Spottedstar and Oliveheart. Her ears perked at the sound of a cat, clearly terrified, and she nudged Miles to a spot where it seemed to be coming from. "Miles, dig! I heard someone from under here." He nodded and felt with his paws for a rock he could use his claws to grasp. Robinflight scattered gravel and stones until the pair of them came upon a young apprentice. They pulled up the last large rock, freeing Darkpaw.

For a moment, Robinflight's ears flattened. If Specklefur saw Robinflight or Miles anywhere near her kit, there'd be hell to pay, whether they were helping or not.

It all happened in a roaring blur. The rocks and dirt toppled over Thunderclan's home like a ocean wave crashing onto the sand, but the only difference was that the rocks and dirt didn't get sucked back like waves to reveal what they had covered. They just stayed there. It took a second for the older warrior to figure out what had happened. It seemed like the sun had magically burnt out in less then a second and the whole world had went dark. A suffocating dust swam through the air, threatening to cut off Frozenflame's airways and watch him die in darkness. It had been a miracle that he hadn't been crushed by some big boulder...Frozenflame seemed to be trapped in a tiny room made of fallen rocks. A few frighteningly sharp pebbles had rained down on him when the landslide first happened, causing deep gashes to be scattered over the tom's grey and ginger pelt. Blood spilled out onto the earth below him, staining the grass and dirt.

He tried to stand from his laying position, but hit his head on a large rock that was the "roof" of the little room. Frozenflame tried to crawl forwards, backwards, to the sides, but the room was too small to move in with no holes big enough for him to crawl through and escape. He was completely trapped in a coffin made of rocks and he could feel the stones crowding around him, their rough surface scratching his sides and back. "Help," he screamed as a mist of dirt fell on top of him, signaling that the rock roof was unstable and bound to collapse down onto him at any second. Frozenflame screamed out a few more times, but all of his yells turned into coughing fits.

The tom gave up. Even if someone did hear his cries for help, it wasn't like anyone would save him. There was nobody that had any reason to keep Frozenflame alive, no mate, no parents, no best friends. Maybe his apprentice or kits...but he didn't even know who his kits were. Hawkstrike had hogged the last litter to herself so Frozenflame had not a clue to who was his children. Even after he was reminded by someone who his kits were, the tom always forgot. He had no reason to remember because he wasn't close to them. If only he had gotten a chance to be with them as they grew up, Frozenflame would have a closer relationship with them. With a sigh of defeat, he closed his eyes and let silent tears trickle down his cheeks. Starclan, what did I do to deserve this? Please help me, please save me! I beg you! I have done nothing wrong to anger you. Please help me.

Marshpaw suddenly saw fur. "Petalpaw?" He gasped. He pulled through some of the muck, dirt and pebbles to her. "What's... H-happening? Where's Fawnwillow...?" He asked, trying to see.

ooc; lol, sorry cat, but Petalpaw didn't drag him from the dirt into open space. She just found him because she was trapped too, but she was nearest him, and she wanted to save him because she had a crush on him. ;) But it's fine, you can just edit your post.

ic; Petalpaw smiled. "Now we just have to figure out how to get out of here..." She looked up at the closed in ceiling, the dirt moving slightly as if it would suddenly collapse upon her and Marshpaw.

She glanced sideways at her denmate, and her heart did the stupid fluttery thing again as their fur touched. Her pelt flushed, and she hoped Marshpaw hadn't noticed her differed heartbeat. "So... any ideas?" she asked, kind of randomly and dumbly.

Bluepaw felt a heavy weight on her. She was trapped. She let out a Yelp but she felt pain lace her body. She couldn't move. Every breathe hurt. She attempted to cry out for help.

Dropping Mothpaw and whirling back Specklefur ripped the stick away she tended to the rock that held Marshpaw down, shoving the stick in she pushed and shoved frantically, after the final push and heave the boulder gave as it uncovered Marshpaw. "Move it! Get out of there Marshpaw!" She ordered harshly, looking up at Nightfire she pointed to Mothpaw. "Attend to her wounds!" She snapped as she awaited the apprentice to move.

Beanpaw frantically scrabbled at his sister before uncovering a paw, sighing with a little relief he tugged her out from under the gravel, panting/

Bluepaw tried to push with all her might but to no avail. She shouted and howled but no one seemed to hear. She let out a small cry of helplessness. She would not let herself die.

Marshpaw gasped as Specklefur set him free. "Thank you!" He gasped. "C'mon Petalpaw! Let's go!" He reached out his paw to grasp hers in if she needed extra help getting up. He then scented Bluepaw. Petalpaw first. Make sure she's safe first- it will benefit everyone. Marshpaw winced at the feeling pushing down on his back- he hadn't even noticed the heavy rock was there until it was off. His back ached terribly, but it would most definitely heal. C'mon, Petalpaw...

Bluepaw saw black dots swimming in her eyes. She gasped for breathe and tried to move but the rock on her back shifted and pinned her to the ground even more. She let out a desperate cry and lowered her head. Oh it was useless! She gave up trying to wiggle free and she laid their half conscious.

Nightfire looked to Specklefur and then to Mothpaw. Oh dear Starclan. The she-cat was bleeding a lot. Did he even has room to get to his den? Running to the cat, he ushered her to where his den would be. There was some space, to which he squeezed his upper body into and grabbed some cobweb. Bringing it back out, he started pressing it to the wound.

Echostrike growled, and started to look around. She had to get another warrior out, so there was for power for getting rocks. Frozenflame. Running over, she clawed rocks around, pushing them until they tumbled away. Finally she reached the cat, who was panicking. "Calm down! Either go to Nightfire or help!"

Mothpaw could barely speak a word of thanks to Nightfire or Specklefur for saving her, but she knew that now she was safe. She felt her eyes slowly flutter shut to rest with the knowledge that the others would save her family, and that Marshpaw, at least, was definitely free. The pain and wetness still lingered, and every new spurt of warmth weakened her further till she could barely draw breath, but she wasn't afraid.

'I'm so tired. Forgive me, mother.'

Laying there near as Nightfire tended to her, she finally closed her eyes, warm from the last rays of the afternoon sun.

In. Out. In. Out.

And there she drew her final breath, and exhaled.

Marshpaws mind was whirling. Save Petalpaw. No, she can get out now. Save Bluepaw. She'll die! MOTHPAW! MOTHPAW! MOTHPAW! He looked over by Nightfire to see Mothpaw, dying. He ran over to his half-sister, crying in disbelief. "MOTHPAW! NO!" He screamed. The two cats never really had much interaction before, but this counted- at least he thought so. His eyes widened as she took her last breath. "I'm sorry..." He said quietly as she died. "I was a terrible brother..." He said, tears forming in his eyes.

Bluepaw fought for breathe and she closed her eyes and whimpered. Pain engulfed her in waves. The rocks shifted again and crushed her spine. She let out a cry of agony and she fell still. She had to stop moving. Bluepaw breathed slowly and very little. She need more air but she didn't dare gasp in a breathe.
"Someone... Help Me..." Bluepaw chocked out then she let herself go motionless again.
