Dapplepaw groaned and awoke to a blur. He blinked his eyes and saw Gingerpaw had a cut. He stood up, shaking his bloody pelt a little, and blinked again. He realized the badger had its claws unsheathed and it's fangs ready to kill Gingerpaw. With a hiss, he leaped onto the badger, using the rest of his strength to scrape the badgers neck deeply. The badger screeched in pain, throwing an unsheathed claw, yet missing him.

Gingerpaw growled when the badger fought back. She fell down to the side hitting her right side and hurting it. She slowly got up and panted before reached over and biting the badger's right leg hard while clawing it deeply.

Growling deeply, Dapplepaw growled. "Don't mess with Thunderclan!" He yelled at the badger, ripping it's throat. The badger squeaked as it fell. Dapplepaw collapsed, bleeding heavily from his wounds.

Gingerpaw began to claw the badger up as it fell. She then looked at her friend bleeding. They weren't in the camp, and if she left Dapplepaw, he might bleed to death. She ran to retrieve cob webs from a short distance and ran back. She wrapped them on his wounds and kept a close eye on the badger.

Dapplepaw groaned in pain. What just happened? He asked himself. Feeling pain in his body, he looked up to see Gingerpaw. "Gingerpaw, is that you?" He asked, which more sounded like a groan. He looked at his leg. He couldn't feel it. "Gingerpaw... W-what happened?" He asked.

Gingerpaw narrowed her eyes at Dapplepaw. "Of course it's me you stupid furball," she responded in a joking manner and relaxed. "The badger is down and... you're injured. I had placed some cob webs on your wounds."

Dapplepaw looked at himself. The cobwebs were helping a lot, yet he looked at his badly injured leg. He tried to get up, putting most of his strength on his back injured leg. His leg buckled and went limp. In horror, he realized he could never use that leg again.

Gingerpaw widened her eyes in horror. No! "Um... Dapplepaw, what's wrong with your injured leg?"

"I think it's paralyzed." He replied, still horrorstruck. "The badger did hurt it pretty badly." He said, sadly.

"Aww..." Gingerpaw looked down. That was awful, and he didn't deserve it. "What are you going to do with it?"

"I don't know. Probably try to walk with it everyday, to get it back to walking. But, I'll just drag it around today. Keep it like this until I can go out and, well, you know, try to walk on it again." He said.

Gingerpaw tilted her head. "Um, if you can walk on it again, it's just numb. If you can't, that it's really paralyzed then." She stood up and examined his leg.

Dapplepaw looked at his leg. There were a few bite marks, many scratches, and dried blood smeared across it. Skin was showing under his fur. "Hopefully, it's just numb," he said.

"I know right?" Gingerpaw mewed warmly and licked his injured leg.

Sighing, Dapplepaw closed his eyes, imagining what it would be like to have a paralyzed leg. He shuddered at the thought.
