Friendship Lasts Forever

"Oh yeah?" He was going to support her dream, as long as it didn't interfere with his. "So that's it?" No, it didnt matter he would always support her. He couldn't stop her from being better than hi. She was already faster, and maybe stronger, but he would try to beat her until the end.

Lightkit nodded. "Being a leader is too much responsibility." she squeaked. "You'd be a great leader!" she exclaimed suddenly.

"No, I wouldn't be able to focus on anything." he slowly looked over to the tree that they had raced to. He looked back at Lightkit, and waited for her to say something.

"Are you kidding me? You'd be the best leader!" she exclaimed.

He tried to change the subject, "Do you think you're okay for another?" he asked as he looked at the tree.

Lightkit looked at the tree and smiled. "Go!" she yelled, taking off.

Graykit charged after her, and laughed a little. Hopefully they could finish this time. Hopefully she didn't get hurt again and make him worry.

Lightkit made it to the tree and stopped, turning to smile triumphantly.

Graykit reached the tree just a couple of seconds after Lightkit. He was panting heavily. "How.... How are you so fast?" He wanted to know why he couldn't beat her.

"I don't know. I just run." she said with a giggle.

When he finally got his breath back, he said "I want a rematch when we become apprentices, and again when were warriors! Say yes because I won't take no for an answer." He wanted it to happen, he wanted to beat her in at least one thing.

"Deal!" she said and took off running again. "Come on slowpoke!" she called.

He let out a little growl, and started to run after her. At least she didn't say no, but another one so soon? He was pretty far behind her now, and wondered when she would stop.

Lightkit jumped and rolled and landed on her back. She let out a laugh.

When Graykit was a couple tail lengths away from her, he slowed to a walk. He dropped to the ground panting. "Is that it?" he asked as he took deep breaths.
