Honey with a Feather

Honeykit paused as she gazed at the forest around her. While she had a feeling that it didn't go on forever; she could understand how Snowkit would think that; the trees showing no end in their numbers as they loomed over the camp. Her tail flickered as she wrapped it around her paws, a look of interest on her face. She couldn't wait until she would be able to explore the forest as an apprentice!

"If it ever stopped, what'd be behind it?" Rookkit inquired, his big eyes widening as he gazed around him curiously.

"I think nothing would look like the night sky, but without the little twinkle-dots and big silver circle!" Rookkit mewed happily, smiling at his sister. "I know I heard some queens talking about them but I can't remember which one's the moon." His face shadowed in concentration.

"The moon is the big one; mouse-brains," Honeykit said with a small giggle, her tail flickering. She glanced at the deputy; tilting her head. "Mosspelt; what is beyond the forest? I mean; the other Clans right? They don't live in a forest like we do, do they? What do their territory look like? It must look weird without trees..."

Mosspelt looked at the forest and laughed turning his attention back to the kits at the question "Well, it depends which way you go. If you go north, you'll go straight to ShadowClan territory. But if you go West you'll go to RiverClan territory. But south is the Two-Leg Place, that's where kitty pets live. Those softies" he said, spitting the last two words in disgust.

Interest flashed across Honeykit's face. The only thing she couldn't figure out what it was Two-legs; much like Snowkit. Her head titled as she glanced from Snowkit to Mosspelt. "Yea; what is a Two-leg, Mosspelt?"

"A Twoleg is a tall, dangerous creature who live in large nests back in Twoleg-place."

Lionstar appeared out of his den, padding up to the group. He was obviously getting old, with white whiskers and fur showing up over his muzzle. "They are strange and can easily kill a cat, with or without whatever it can get its paws on. But I'd rather not scare you youngsters." He huffed, amusement in his dulling yellow eyes. "Mosspelt, have the patrols gone out for today?" He asked, turning to the deputy.

Rookkit shrunk back in horror while his eyes widened.
"Yeah!" He mewed, looking at the other kits that were gathered around. He could on begin to imagine what two-legs looked like, presumably just like him but with two legs and big, fat paws. 
"W-What do they look like?" he wondered aloud, his long tail swishing from side to side as he set his wide imagination to work.

Honeykit titled her head, listening to Lionstar speak with interest. She had been surprised by the leader suddenly appearing; but she smiled softly. "Wow, Lionstar, you sure know a lot of things!" Her tail flickered as she glanced at her denmates before turning back to the leader. "Yea, what do they look like? Are they like giant cats or what? Ooo; or are they more like dog? Giant squirrels maybe?" She would of loved to go on by naming all the animals she knew; but that wasn't a very big list anyways.

Lionstar chuckled. "I've...Been alive for a long time, you could say, so I know a lot. Though it may be time soon that Mosspelt here takes my place." He purred. "Twolegs look nothing like us, if you're really interested. They stand up on two legs and have more toes than us on their paws. They always seem to wear these rock-shaped things on the feet they stand on, so I don't know what they look like, but the paws they use for picking things up have very long toes on them. They're quite...different, if I do say so myself. They often wear these bright pelts, probably because the only fur they have to protect them from the cold is on their head." The large tom explained. "But listen to me, rambling on about what those odd creatures look like. You're only kits, so why not enjoy your relaxed age while you have it? You'll all have plenty of time for learning when you're apprentices."
