| Enro followed in, the taste of the pheasant and potato and leek soup lingering on his tongue. He'd bite his tongue almost twice, wanting to bite another piece of food as the tastes danced on his tongue, but only succeeding in snagging a quick bite of his tongue. He shuffled in, smiling at Helgi, though the smile was fake and jagged. He didn't completely trust the older woman, though she was providing a few necessities they needed, so he had to just deal with it, huh? He shifted his weight constantly, watching as the others went in, and came out garbed in armor, leather or better. He fingered through the robes after turning around, and his eyes sparkeld when he cought sight of a black robe, accented with green. It was amazing. he lifted the robe, and as soon as Tova was out, he headed for the other room. He wanted to just hare in, but decided not to. Due to this, his steps were stiff and robotic even, a giddy smile on his face.
The door closed with a slight creek behind Enro, and the youngest looked in the mirror. His air was scruffy and dotted with mud and twigs, and his face looked scarred and old, though it honestly wasn't. He shed the old, worn, soggy clothes from Croft, and redressed in the robe. He looked at it, the sleeves running barely past his shoulders. The robe came down far, ending just above his ankles. The collar was green, and a trim around the edge of the sleeves, the bottom, and swirling accents of green danced throughout the ebony of the rest of the cloth. Steeping out, Enro lifted his arms a little, then lowered them, joining the others without a word. ______________________________________ Art credit to Grey. |

| As woo. as Garai had gotten his food, he practically inhaled it. The delicious taste and soup sliding down his throat enlivened him and made him feel all happy and stuffs inside. It was amazing. He hadn't felt so happy since.. well, actually, since the morning of the Goodbye ceremony. But now that entire day was run over with terrible thoughts so he didn't ponder it too much before rating more of his soup. Within a good 5 minutes or so, his little wooden bowl was completely empty-- not a drop was left. As he sat back in his chair to rub his satisfied belly like a weird old man would do, he noticed that everyone was done just like he was and was already leaving. He had sort of heard the conversation. He knew it involved armour and from the sounds of it, they were getting it free. Could this day get better? He didn't think so.
As he walked into the next building he already saw the business of his group mates as they looked around and picked up what they wanted. With a curious look, he began searching around himself until he came across some armour. It looked rather odd, but there was something about it that seemed to call to him. Well, not literally. Otherwise that would be weird. But nonetheless, he picked it up. The iron was heavy but after a few minutes, he was already kind of used to it as he began trying it on. It wasn't like robes or anything so he didn't have to take his clothes off that he already had on. Slipping it on, he realized it was pretty uncomfortable, but it fit him like a glove. It was amazing! Just what he needed. "This is perfect!" he called out to anyone that was listening. |

| Since I'm lazy and this is going slower than expected, let's skip the whole post about weapons thing. The smithy had: - 4 swords- 2 longbows- 4 daggers- 1 mace- 2 dirks- 1 shield- a few warhammers, greatswords, war axes and battleaxes no one wants. Also, the store had a staff for one of the mages that claims it. :] Just pick whatever your character needs. You can't have a mace, a dirk, a dagger, a sword, and a a shield >_> make it reasonable - - - - - Helgi paid for everything they wanted. It was incredibly gracious, and Yvara thanked her a multitude of times. When they left the good store, they went to the smithy next door and purchased weapons. The weather did not agree with the Tribal's new garments, and she shivered underneath her cloak. At the blacksmith's store, she picked up a dirk -- it was a small dagger, and she attached the hilt to her belt. The total sum of all the weapons and oddities the companions bought was around six hundred gold coins. . . by the gods, was she really going to pay for all of this? The woman truly was generous. Helgi smiled at them in -- their new armor and weapons and robes seemed to fit, even if most looked uncomfortable. They would get used to it, she decided, remembering her first time in armor. The added weight was bothersome, but saved her more than a few times. "Do you like your new things?" She asked, seeking their praise with earnest. The wealthy old woman didn't have much in terms of family, and she was actually quite lonely here in Iceport; adventurers were the only ones that talked to her at the inn. She loved to be regaled with stories of valor and mystery, those who travel into the depths of ancient Snow Elven crypts or the caverns of the Mistrial plains. The world was huge, and compared to the majesty of all the lands, the few cities and villages full of people were just specks. She loved the stories, but she cherished helping new adventurers. Even if they never came back to tell her their stories. Yvara nodded, and she thought her gesture symbolized what the entire group was feeling. She had gotten her new robes, a cloak, a dirk, and a small wooden mortar and pestle. She didn't know why she bought it, just that alchemy might be a good hobby to take up; surely it couldn't be much different than cooking? Along with it, she got a dusty old book entitled The Herbalist's Guide. She felt like she had gotten too much, but Helgi assured her it wasn't. "Where are you children head--" Helgi was about to ask them where they were going, but a group of people had just walked on Iceport's beaches, from the forest. One of them was riding a droth, and he wore the furs of the Tribal lands, despite Frost's cold atmosphere. It didn't even seem to bother him. He had long, shaggy black hair and unmistakable Tribal characteristics. Helgi grimaced when she saw the group, and attempted to usher the children inside Gromm's. It didn't work. Next to the droth-riding man was another Tribal. He had a bow and quiver full of arrows. The simple design of the weapons were also unmistakably Tribal, and he was just as scantily clad as the other man. They had furs draped across their backs and a ... fur skirt type thing, decorated with feathers. The man on the droth had two pale brown, archaic axes on a leather belt. With them were ten orcs, all with the orcish weapons and armor of the Shadowlands. The man with the bow glared at the adventurers as they approached Iceport. "Dyctor," He said to the man mounting the droth. "I thought Captain Agristyr said there were no soldiers here." He raised his head slightly to the children, who looked much more menacing with their armor and weapons. They were inexperienced, but they looked the part. "He did," hissed Dyctor. "Disarm them." He ordered, pulling on the droth's reigns. The man with the bow raised it, and pulled one of his rustic arrows from the quiver. He aimed at Garai, assuming the Redlander to be the strongest thanks to his warrior-esque posture and weapons and armor. The arrow was released with a twang of the bow, and Serana, who until now had been silent, jumped in front of it. It hit her shoulder, and she collapsed to the ground. Helgi gasped, rushing to the Fair's side. She wrenched the arrow out and put pressure on the wound. "Go!" She ordered. "You can't beat them. Go to the docks and ask the Seafarer's Guild to help. Leave before the rest get here." Dyctor gritted his teeth, as the bowman gestured with his head towards the village. The orcs let out a battlecry, waving their various axes and maces in the air. The orc in front bared his teeth, and they raced towards the village. It was meant to be a peaceful conquering, as it was with most villagers; but the companions led Dyctor to believe Iceport was harboring Rebels. Yvara looked at Serana sadly, but she knew that they were amateur with their new skills and couldn't beat the orcs. "Come on!" She said, breaking off towards the docks. The Seafarer's Guild was already abandoning Iceport at the sight of the Queen's forces. The ship that was being taken was a huge vessel that looked a bit like this. The ship had cargo on it, and the eightteen members of the Guild that resided in Iceport's Guild base as a crew, it was already pretty full. There was extra space below deck, though. . . and the Guild could hardly refuse a group of urchins. They had a reputation to keep. "Swiftly, Alix!" called the Captain of the vessel. He was a burly Redlander man with a beard. The Empress Muminah was named for a former Redlander Empress of the same name. "Aye, captain!" "Captain! Wyverns spotted overhead! The Witch-Queen's forces are laying siege!" "Don't bother with your bow, Crendal! Sail!" They were almost ready to depart someone scream wait ok? ;D ______________________________________ |

| Koa had been quite enjoying his new dirk. The small dagger was light. He had almost been considering a sword, what with all the leather armor and all, but if it ever came down to a sword fight, Koa knew he'd be hopelessly outmatched. The Wavefolk boy was quite happy with his choice. Though, holding the tiny blade, he knew its purpose. He just hoped he'd never have to use it in battle.
Helgi's voice brought his attention from the dirk to the Tribal men and orcs. When the scantily dressed savage pulled the bow back he was already moving his feet to dart away. The pack smacked against his legs with every movement. In the small amount of time that he'd been in the leather armor, it had already started to feel lighter on his shoulders, but even if it was the heaviest thing in the world he wouldn't have noticed. He was sprinting as fast as he could. Koa dared a glance back, only to see Serana get hit in the shoulder. Koa quickly looked away. There was no helping her. Above the small buildings he could see the white sails of a ship. It was their only escape from Iceport and their gateway to the Redlands. The Wavefolk boy began to move his feet even faster, if that was possible. Koa looked back again, seeing his traveling companions not far behind. They'd have to hurry, because he sure as hell wasn't going to wait for them.
"Wait! Stop!" he called out, waving his hands manically in the air as he reached the docks. His hood fell back, and if his yelling hadn't already ruined the mysterious thief persona he had tried to build up, that certainly did. ______________________________________ ‹‹ former site administrator ›› pm me |

| As Garai held his new mace in his hand, he looked at it with concern. It was very dangerous. One swim of this thing could easily kill someone. Did he really want a weapon like that? He shook his head at himself. No of course not. But with this whole destiny/journey the group had, he knew they would be running into situation where he would have to tint simply to save his own life. He just desperately hoped it wouldn't come down to that. Although, as he got lost in his daydreams of fighting the creatures of the Witch, and even the Queen herself, he felt slightly empowered. He would do this only because he knew it was what Tristan would want. At least, that's how he thought. The Gods would want this small group to conquer the Witch Queen and end her reign. After all, they were chosen, right?
With a slight smile, the Redlander swung his new weapon lightly in his hands a couple of times before the sounds of strange and rather loud voices interrupted his thoughts. Of course, he just thought of them as simple people of Iceport, not even thinking about the dangers that could be lurking around with his naïve little mind. It was only when one of them shouted "Disarm them!" did he look up. Instantly his eyes widened. The only thing he could see was the arrow pointed straight at him. Everything else simply drained away and turned dark his fear struck through him faster than the arrow probably would have. As the Tribal man released it, all time slowed down. All he could see was the arrow striking him dead. This was it. He barely started this journey and he was already going to die. So much help he was. Tristan must have been disappointed. As would be Igmund and the rest of the orphanage. Would anyone really think of him as a hero, or just another failure?
The arrow seemed like it wasn't even really moving through the air. It seemed like time was at a compete standstill. He knew he had to move. He had to get away from this thing about to kill him, but as he tried to flee, he found that his feet wouldn't budge. It suddenly felt as if they turned into blocks of lead. Even his weapon seemed to gain 20 tons by just sitting in his hands. He couldn't move. He just.. couldn't. But as soon as his horror began it ended when Serana stepped in front of him, the arrow going through her shoulder. The instant she was hit, Garai found his breath and his strength again. He gasped as the girl landed on the ground and took a few steps away from the archer who shot her. It took him a few moments to realize exactly what had happened, but when he finally realized it, he stared at Serana with pure horror. She had taken that arrow for him, and now as he looked around and saw Koa fleeing, he knew he couldn't help her, otherwise he would be killed and her sacrifice would have been for nothing.
After a few gasps of breath to regain what composure he had left, he quickly tightened his grip on his weapon, turned on his heel and ran as Helgi came to Serana's aid and demanded him to go. He quickly complied and ran after Koa who already was closing in on the docks and trying to catch the attention of one of the ships. Hopefully Koa could catch them. The sea was their only means of escape at this point. |

ic; Eira was still jittery with excitement and happiness from the new clothes. And even more, the silver dagger now hidden in her bag, along with her books and slip of paper. When she entered the smithy, she had decided against getting a weapon. But as she saw all the others arm themselves, she realized how weak she would seem without anything at all to protect herself. She had no intention of using the blade, but she had no idea of what the future held, and she had to be ready for anything. She stood in the shop, studying the dagger closely, trying to decide what it made of her. She would never be a warrior, but at least now she could defend herself; and others. It filled her with strength, and she smiled softly in the blade's dull light.
When the small group left the place, she had sheathed the dagger and set it in her bag. It was then the Tribals walked up. Eira helplessly watched the events unfold, staying in the back of the group. It was only when Serena got hit that she reacted in any way. "NO!" She cried, shoving others out of the way and running up to the girl. She covered her mouth with her hand to hold back a sob as she looked at the girl's blood drenched shoulder. She placed her hand near the injury, although it was hard to do with Helgi's hands in the way. She ignored the woman's orders to leave as she tried to heal Serena. Salty tears ran down her face and she couldn't bring herself to be happy. It was to hectic around her, and she reluntantly gave up. Eira looked at Helgi intently, blue eyes bright with tears. "Take care of her." She begged. "Please."
Then she left.
Eira ran after Yvara, Koa and Garai, as they made it to the docks. The salt from the sea battled with the salt of the tears she was quickly wiping from her face. She tried in vain to hide her distress as she looked back several times. The young woman felt horrible for leaving Serena, but knew it was for the best. ______________________________________ forever nostalgic |

| Silya gritted her teeth at the thugs, clearly not realizing the serious danger that their presence brought and the damage that they could toll to this village. There were a few moments when were was a bit amazed, this guys seemed rather tough, and damn - she had never really seen an orc up close before, not to mention this many; but other than that, the look on the tree elf's face couldn't be helping the situation at all.
Neither did it when she gripped the bow on her back with a firm hand. Hell, she hadn't tried to shoot it yet, but it did feel natural in her grasp - and there was a first time for everything. Wasn't this the perfect time to test it out? No? Okay. Well, Silya would have tried, hadn't the douches already fired; piercing the arm if Serana. That threw her a bit off of her rocker. "Is she okay?" she asked Eira with wide eyes, staying behind with the Healer for a bit as she refused to leave Serana's side.
The archer finally pulled her act together, realizing that they should probably run, and worried what they would do to the village. But... they couldn't really leave them here with these thugs, could they? And it was only the beginning of their super-special-awesome quest! What would happen to Serana...? What about her gift...? Could they leave it to these guys who worked for the Queen?
Silya eyed the small bag at her side. She knew what was inside it. The short girl had seen. Something that was so special made for the girl, but she was already at the end of her journey it seemed - it would seem that the message had been written for her was chosen by fate. Maybe fate wasn't as set in stone as they all would've hoped.
"I'm sorry." Silya muttered to the fellow orphan. When Eira got up and left, the tree elf quickly snatched up Serana's bag and took in for a sprint, running after the others, quickly catching up and eying the large boat. "Hey! Wait for us!!" she quickly joined in Koa's calls, hoping that they'd stop for the kids. ______________________________________ |

| Akila was clearly happy with her new clothes. She followed the others into the Black smith's browsing the many weapons that were there. There were many choices for her but it came down to two in the end. She wanted thither another dagger or a sword. After much thinking Akila decided on the sword. It would help her better in a full blown combat.
Akila smile turned into a frown as she looked at the goons come into the city. Her fear turned into an anger Serenna saved one of them. The redlander girl wanted to go over then, and do something, but what would she do? They were trained, and she wasn't. She would end up gettingkilled. She nodded to Helgi, as she went to take care of Serenna.
She turned, and caught up with Eira, she put her hand on her friends shoulder. "She is going to be okay.." She hoped she would be. She wasn't exactly sure what would become of the poor girl, but she was in safe hands for now. She was concerned for the town.. So they would be over run to.. She looked to Koa who was trying to get the ship to stop leaving, and she waited with hope the ship would stop. ______________________________________ "끝나지 않은 이 소설의 페이지 마지막까지 함께 채울래" Tigerstar ✦ Blackpaw ✦ Owlcall ✦ Harespring ✦ Ravenfall ✦ Otterkit Windclan ✦ Thunderclan ✦ Riverclan ✦ Skyclan ✦ Riverclan ✦ Skyclan Leader (Tier 5) ✦ Apprentice ✦ Tier 2 ✦ Tier 2 ✦ Tier 1 ✦ Kit Reaper's Beans | Plotting Pages | Heartchart |

| Captain Leth was not a patient Redlander, and he had no wish to be held up in fleeing this scene. Creatures of witch magic were flying around, ready freeze the place with their breath, and now orcs were headed toward his vessel, following a group of urchins and their ilk. A wyvern dived for the children, but Leth shot it in the neck with his crossbow. He reloaded it, shouting, "Get in! Quickly!" Yvara didn't look back for her comrades. She ran up onto the wooden dock, surprised at how lithe she felt in her new boots. The ship was already a few feet from the dock. She jumped for it, and a huge man caught her by her arm. He wasn't really a man -- he was Uthane, a civilized centaur from Mistrial. Probably one of the only horseman sailors in the world. Gasping, she said a quick thank you, and collapsed onto the ship. Captain Leth looked at the other children, and up at the sky. "Uthane!" He shouted, and the centaur withdrew a bow. A wyvern was shot out of the sky and into the water. Most of the pirates had scimitars, but Leth and a few men had crossbows -- and Uthane had a fine centaur-crafted bow. Leth turned to those that were still not yet on the docks. He shot a bolt from the crossbow at one of the orcs. It shrieked and fell to the ground. "Hurry!" called the Redlander, more to the children than to his crew. If they were left, at least he'd still be alive. - Spoiler:

| Enro raced after Yvara and the others, his heart pounding. Hearing was gone, he couldn't even hear Leth scream. He was too scared to hear, he didn't want to hear. Helgi had bought a staff for mages for him, and he held it close to his sides, holding it down with his arm as he ran. He would be one of the last to board the ship. But, maybe he would never. Sweat dribbled into his eyes and down his forehead. His vision blurred. His heart pounded. The ship never seemed to get closer. Like he was running in palce. He would never make. With a gasping breath, he suddenly heard the thud of wood under his shoes. He was safe on the ship. He lowered himself against the wall of the ship and closed his eyes, bringing his knees tight to his chest and lying the staff in the small crook between his chest and his knees. He shivered in the cold, his arms feeling frozen. ______________________________________ Art credit to Grey. |

| Eira hadn't bothered answering Silya, because- well, Serena was obviously not alright, and Eira was to deep in shock to utter a reply, or even shake her head. She prayed to Alma for Serena's and the town's safety, and hoped that she hadn't brought misfortune to them all. Feeling the presence of a hand on her shoulder, Eira turned to see Akila just behind her. "I hope so.. More than anything, Akila, I hope so." She muttered under her shaky breath. She looked up, seeing the others already climbing on to the boat. She turned around, seeing the monsters draw closer. The wyvern had been particularily close to Eira, and she cried out in fear and surprise as it dove towards her, only to be taken out by the arrow.
Catching her breath, she sent one last prayer to the Four, wishing for safety to the town and her friend, before she made a run for the boat. She had no time to be nervous about the fair distanced jump, because all that was on her mind was getting to safety. She leaped forward, barely making it to the boat as she grabbed Uthane's hand, pulling herself the rest of the distance. "Thank you." She tried not to act surprised when she realized he was a centuar, instead dipping her head and turning to face the dock, ready to help the others get aboard. ______________________________________ forever nostalgic |
