Me huntin' patrol

She turned towards Shadowstar with bright eyes. Being offered training by the Clan leader was a big honor, and was something that rarely even happened. R-Really?" She stammered.

"Shadowstar, are you sure you can take on an apprentice so early, after you just trained me?"

Shadowstar nodded happily as she turned her attention to the new warrior. "Of course! And since you were not able to complete your hunting training, today can be your first lesson. I'm sure Littlelight would be happy to oblige to help with it too," She purred after looking back at Spiderpaw.

Spiderpaw shot a glance at Littlelight, but said nothing as she turned her head towards her leader and gave her head a small bow. "I'd love that." She purred.

"Okay" Littlelight replied walking to the entrance of the camp "we should get started"

Spiderpaw nodded, following Littlelight in the general direction of the camp exit. Her tail twitched in excitement for the upcoming hunt.

"So where do you think we should start first?" Littlelight asked Shadowstar

Shadowstar followed them out of the camp reluctantly until they got close to the middle of the territory. When they stopped, she took a good look around before inhaling deeply with her mouth slightly open to try to catch the scent of any prey that could be lurking in the tall grasses of the marsh. After failing to smell anything, she looked in the direction opposite the Thunderpath. "There's not a whole lot of prey around this area and there isn't going to be much near the Thunderpath. We should probably start more towards the Carrion Place or Highpines."

"Okay" Littlelight nodded, leading the way. They finally got at highpines, finding a frog he slowly crouched down, "Be still" he ordered as he pounced


"Got it" he said coming out from behind the tree, a frog hanging from his jaws

Spiderpaw nodded. "Carrion place are full of rats, so even though we need to be weary we can still get a decent meal out of them." She agreed, nodding her head in approval. "Though we'll get some better-tasting prey from Highpines, so we should hunt there."

Spiderpaw's eyes glimmered in the slowly arriving darkness. She tasted the air, pausing briefly to scan the forest floor with her eyes when she heard the distinct shuffling of a nearby creature. She dropped into the hunters crouch, recalling what little knowledge she had of hunting from her previous mentor and began creeping up slowly behind the creature. She gave a single lash of her tail before springing into the bush with her other claws unsheathed.
Her claws slammed down hard on what appeared to be a vole, killing it instantly as she snapped its neck with her teeth. She padded quietly back through the muck and laid the vole at Littlelight's paws. "So much for 'in need of hunting practice.'." She scoffed.
