Quillsplash was having a bad day, and now he was stuck in the same training session as the medicine cat who he wanted nothing to do with and a queen who he wanted even less to do with. She was saying something about how he was naturally suited to the territory, which only made him wince. He very much was not suited to ShadowClan's marshland, not with WindClan and ThunderClan blood in his veins and an entire childhood spent in the Twolegplace and Highstones. The soft mud under his paws was nothing but a disturbance to his every movement, and that was evident when he attempted to try out the move that was meant to be taught to him. His paws were stuck in the half-frozen mud, and he gave up on the move to try and yank his paw out of the slimy brown substance only for his fur to get tangled up and clotted with more mud. So much for being a ShadowClan warrior. Heat washed over him as he fought with the territory, practically clawing at the mud to release him to the point of yanking himself away as he might if he were stuck in a log, only for him to back into a tree and send a flurry of snow descending upon him.

Quillsplash was glad that he was at least not alone in his failure of trying to get his territory to cooperate with him. He didn't appreciate Cherish's laughter at it, though, but at least it wasn't directed at him in particular... was it? The tom shook out his pelt and cleaned most off the snow, then took a deep breath and tried again. He had succeed the first time, with Muse, so he could do it again. Just... relax. This was not different from the Twolegplace. Quillsplash let himself take a step back, then another, letting the thick viel of shadows slowly envelope him until his tortoiseshell coat had all but disappeared from sight.

Heatherberry still didn't seem to catch on, though Cherish immediately pointed out that he had succeeded. Quillsplash stepped out of the shadows, shaking out the bits of snow still dusting his thick coat. He blinked at the two medicine cat, unsure of what to make of her words to him. Perhaps they meant nothing. His ear flicked, but he remained silent otherwise, just waiting for Heatherberry to reply to Cherish. He may not be in the shadows now, but he might as well have been.
