Skyclan Newsletter | July 2023
Welcome to the Skyclan newsletter! These newsletters will be posted on the 1st of every month, and will recap important events and announcements pertaining to Skyclan, including signal-boosting ceremonies and open threads. If you have suggestions for either the newsletter or something you would like to see more of in Skyclan, don't hesitate to reach out to the clan's High Ranks on the forum or through discord!
Chronological links to important threads related to Skyclan's clanwides, role in sitewides, clan meetings, etc, with a brief explanation of what's going on. Characters should probably be aware of these things in RP.
Before getting into the in-character news, we have some OOC news: Downfive is on vacation until the 10th, which means that kj (Wolfblossom) will be handling all ceremonies and stuff that comes up, including this month's gathering. Don't hesitate to dm her for your plotting or other topic needs!
A change has been made to predator hunts. Now they will run bimonthly (every two months) instead of every month. This is to keep them from becoming overwhelming, and with a lower participation rate hopefully this will let them feel a bit more special than something forced. The monthly patrols and duties optional signups have not changed. During off months, expect to see more open topics, instead!
Speaking of open topics, check out the Open Topic Thread that was made recently! It's a good spot to advertise open threads, especially for those who don't have access to discord and the #open-topics-listing channel. We try to find Skyclan-centric open threads for the newsletter, but we're bound to slip up eventually, and this is another form of advertising them.
Our wonderful Cocoa has organized signups for a sparring tournament! Sparring is a good way to fill both a battle requirement and a development topic requirement, so we're encouraging people to sign up! If anyone has any ideas for mini events like these in the future, don't hesitate to reach out to your high ranks, either, we love to see this kind of stuff!
Gather, girlboss generals - With tension rising across the forest, and such a public display of solidarity during the previous gatherings, Skyclan, Thunderclan and Riverclan have solidified an alliance together. This is not complete yet, so be mindful of that when RPing.
Looking through a fogged mirror + Finish what you shouldn't have started - Already however, there is a crack forming in that alliance. At the request of Bloodstrike and Ravenclaw, Birdstar went to twolegplace in search of Beechfang. The former medicine cat and warrior was exiled for the murder of Cloverheart, Riverclan's medicine cat a year ago (to the day, even.) Now, the aging loner has returned to Skyclan. The decision to stay away from Riverclan's border and gatherings was an easy one for both Birdstar and Beechfang to make, but how long can such a secret truly last? The reactions from Skyclan were better than Wolfblossom had hoped for, so perhaps there is a chance this can remain within the clan.
