Physical Traits & Abilities

Physical Description

Being that their forests are stonier than their neighbors in ThunderClan, SkyClan has the qualities to show it. SkyClan cats have hard, thick gray pads, well-weathered and resistant to cracking thanks to a lifetime of crossing harsh surfaces. This trait does not only help them in covering ground: their tough pads provide them an easier time scaling trees without getting scratched on the bark. The trees are their home, and most SkyClan cats are built for a life in the branches. They tend to have notably muscular haunches made for jumping and climbing, and are surprisingly nimble for their size. SkyClan tends to host some of the largest cats in the forest, thanks to sheer muscle and dense fur in equal part.

Noteworthy Abilities

Generations spent honing muscles for gripping and leaping have made SkyClan formidable foes in wooded areas. Their strength and attitudes are fearsome, and they are as capable of locking a cat between their forelegs as they are of springing on them from the trees with their entire weight.

Passive: Climber's Grasp
Your experience in climbing trees has strengthened your grip. Passive boost of +1 to chances to stun or pin an opponent. Can be used anywhere.

Active, Special [Pin]: Leaping Bound
Leap from a high place with powerful back legs and tackle your enemy to the ground. Pins opponent for one turn. Usable in wooded areas only.

Territorial & Seasonal

Unlike the lush forests of their close neighbors, SkyClan's woods are made up mostly of hard-packed earth and stone. Clearings of grass are not uncommon though, especially nearer to the Fallen Oak, the River, or its inlet that runs through SkyClan territory, the Moonlit Creek. Coniferous trees are rare in SkyClan; most of their towering forest is made up of oaks and similar sturdy structures. In the heart of the woods, crowned by a large tree that oversees them all, sits a rocky hollow. The little sanctuary is carefully guarded by a wreath of brambles, loose stones, and strategically placed branches that will snap in the event of trespass.
Moonlit Creek
A tributary of the nearby river that runs through most of the territory. Prey is often plentiful here, and the creek is a favored spot for cats seeking quiet or solace. Currently, the creek is frozen.

Halfstone
Where the grass grows especially thin, a towering boulder sits among the stones. Its surface has been split open, cracked in half as if by struck by lightning. Prey frequents the area, but predators do, as well.

Great Ridge
A gentle rise in the territory that provides a small vantage point above twolegplace. The trees are taller here, the grass softer, the sun warmer. A good area for training young apprentices, as it is open and relatively safe, or simply watching the twolegs go about their days.

DISPUTED TERRITORIES

Skyclan does not currently suffer from disadvantaged stats.
The Fallen Oak
The Thunderclan-Skyclan border. Held by ThunderClan

Highpine
The Shadowclan-Skyclan border. Held by SkyClan

Daily Life

Under Bloodstar's reign, several changes were made to SkyClan's routine. Though these practices may have fallen somewhat out of order through the tumult that has been recent leadership, Birdstar revived them and Wolfstar is continuing their practice.
  • Night guards will be in effect constantly. Warriors will take turns staying awake in pairs to oversee camp while the rest of the Clan sleeps.
  • Warriors will periodically be assigned to limb patrol. This task will consist of investigating every tree possible (not necessarily in a single day) and removing any branches that are deemed unfit for basic exercise. Unless they cannot be practically carried, branches will be returned to camp to be reused in various structural improvements.
  • The sky patrol will consist of warriors that have proven to be the most adept at navigating the trees. They will be the eyes of SkyClan: where a patrol on the ground may not notice an active threat until they're close enough to be scented or heard, cats assigned to sky patrol will have the advantage of sight. Concerning activity is to be reported to Wolfstar or [deputy] immediately or, if necessary and the warriors present are capable, dispatched. If the need arises, warriors may be asked with infiltrating another Clan's territory through the trees.
  • Branches recovered from limb patrols or found scattered around the territory will be methodically laid out surrounding SkyClan's camp. When pressed, the branches will snap and alert all in camp to a possible threat. Only SkyClan cats or those that are escorted can navigate the barrier soundly.

Inner Rules

Wolfstar intends to rid SkyClan of their reputation for being frightening, blood-thirsty warmongers without giving them the impression of softness or as pushovers. Before anything else, this must start at home. While each Clan is a tight-knit group by nature, she intends to put further emphasis on this and encourage deeper relationships with each other. Family is very important to her, and while each cat has their own immediate family members, continued success of the Clan depends on treating all others as if they were your family as well. If you cannot trust your Clanmates-- your family --you cannot trust anyone. While personal conflicts are bound to arise, she expects every member of SkyClan to, at the bare minimum, respect each other and be able to function together as a working Clan and family. In-fighting is one of few acts that is rarely tolerated.

ACCEPTANCE POLICIES

In short, most cats attempting to join SkyClan will be taken under a strictly case-by-case basis. All decisions are final according to Wolfstar. While she intends to be open and accepting of those that may require a home or shelter, she will not be lenient or compromise the safety of her family.
Rogues, loners, and kittypets
Examined under a case-by-case basis. If they are welcomed into SkyClan, they’ll be required to complete a minimum of two moons of apprentice training, which may be extended depending on circumstances. At the end of their training they will receive a full warrior name, and it is expected they’ll be regarded just as a cat that was born into SkyClan.

Clan-hoppers
Examined under a case-by-case basis. While they will not have to recomplete their apprentice training, they will have to prove their loyalty to SkyClan through a trial of Wolfstar’s choosing. They will spend their early moons in SkyClan supervised by a reputable warrior to be sure they’re not acting against SkyClan’s interests; duration will be determined depending on the situation. Name may be changed upon the warrior’s request to reflect their new allegiance.

Exiled Clan cats
Undergo a similar process as Clan-hoppers, though Wolfstar will be stricter on initial evaluation and harsher in her choice of trial. Depending on the nature of their exile, they may never receive full warrior status in SkyClan, even if they’ve successfully proved their loyalty. With the exception of extreme circumstances, a name change will never be granted to a formerly-exiled cat.

Kits, no matter their origin,
Always accepted. Efforts will be exhausted to return them to their original home beforehand, but if no one or nothing is found, they will be raised just as a Clanborn cat.

CODE BREAKING

Wolfstar does not adhere to the Code as strictly as some leaders might, though that isn’t to say she treats it flippantly. Acknowledgement and punishment will be enacted. All accounts of code-breaking will be addressed as they come; which is to say, there is no "one size fits all" punishment, even for crimes on the same scale or even for the same crime.
  • The most likely effect will be a sentence where the offending cat is confined to camp for a duration reflecting what they've done. This punishment could cover something as small as an accidental trespass to instigating needless fights.
  • More severe crimes, such as grievously injuring or murdering a cat, will result in immediate demotion upon Wolfstar's finding out. The offending cat will be allowed a chance to plead their case, but repeal of the leader's decision is unlikely.
  • Should the crime be severe enough, the cat risks permanently losing their right to warriorhood. They will be formally demoted and will exist as an elder in Clan life, with the only benefit being that they may continue to join hunting patrols. The offending cat will be under constant watch by an available reputable warrior.
  • Exile will generally only be employed if a cat has repeated accounts of severely crossing the warrior code or disobeying Wolfstar (circumstantially). Exceptions may be made depending on the situation.
  • In the event that you are exiled from SkyClan, your presence on the territory will be considered a threat. Expect to be met with claws should you be caught.
  • Unless the cat is deemed to be a threat to the entire forest, Wolfstar will never employ any means of execution.

FORBIDDEN ROMANCES

Being the product of one, Wolfstar is understanding of warriors that might find themselves in a forbidden relationship. Even if she may be sympathetic, she will acknowledge that the warrior in question has still broken an important rule of Clan life and has potentially compromised their loyalty to SkyClan.
  • If the SkyClan cat is the mother of kits, the mother will be expected to remain in SkyClan and raise her litter there. Efforts will be made between Skyclan's leadership, the mate, and the other Clan's leader (if applicable) to invite the mate into SkyClan so the kits will grow up with their whole family. If the mate is unwilling to join SkyClan, or leadership is unwilling to release them, Wolfstar will ask that the relationship be formally ended. Once the kits have reached apprenticehood, supervised visits between them and their mentor (or other reputable warrior) may be conducted at the nearest border so the kits will still have some relation with their other parent.
  • If the SkyClan cat is the father of kits, similar efforts will be made to bring the mother (and kits) to SkyClan. If she is unwilling to join SkyClan, or leadership is unwilling to release her and the kits, Wolfstar will suggest to allow the father into the opposing Clan. This is far from a first result; all efforts will be exhausted to unite the family under SkyClan before that conclusion is reached.
  • Though she is understanding and a degree forgiving of forbidden relationships, and will do everything in her power to keep the pair and their family together, the rule that was broken must still be acknowledged. The offending warrior will be confined to camp for a minimum of two moons (extensions may be added circumstantially) with a chance they may have to recomplete apprentice training.
  • In any case, should a cat leave SkyClan to pursue their relationship, their connections with SkyClan will be severed. Wolfstar will make every attempt to work with you, your mate, and possible kits to keep SkyClan and your family together. She will consider leaving SkyClan as a severance of her trust, and you will not be permitted on SkyClan territory in the future.

CURRENT CLAN HAPPENINGS

CURRENT CLAN STANDINGS

SkyClan's alliances with RiverClan and ThunderClan have crumbled. Tensions are high with both, especially after the war that killed Birdstar, Beechfang and Mottlestar. SkyClan is neutral with WindClan and ShadowClan.
