So, Wolfblossom is going to be a bit different than Skyclan's previous high ranks (and my own previous high rank). She's determined to break the cycle of hostility and general chaos that has surrounded Skyclan for years, and this starts with the clan's youth as well as those leading it. With that said, Wolfblossom has a Plan. As do I.
Mentors will be given priority based on the following:
Request of the kit’s RPer. May be subject to change if there are too many warriors who don’t have their T4 training requirement in combination with too few kits/apprentices.
T4 training requirements not met (with those closer to T5 given priority over newly-named T1 warriors)
Activity – Active warriors are given priority over less active warriors, and those who have missed the current month’s activity check. Having a mentor is important both IC and OOC, as they can help newer users navigate many of the systems on WCC.
Multiple apprentices – Generally, Wolfblossom tries not to give a single warrior more than one apprentice to avoid overwhelming them, and to ensure that every apprentice can receive appropriate training. If a specific mentor is requested who already has an apprentice, the request will be honored unless the warrior in question does not wish to take on more than what they already have.
Mentor Reassignments If your mentor has not been active within a month of being assigned, or has not started your training after you have reached out to them, you can request a mentor reassignment ceremony by repurposing the kit>apprentice form in Skyclan Ceremony Requests and dm'ing me either on-site or through discord. Wolfblossom will assign apprentices to another active warrior following the guidelines above, or will take on an apprentice’s training herself if desired.
With the above out of the way, I've also come up with several optional threads to promote character interaction and development. Wolfblossom doesn't just want to send kits off to training with a mentor and leave them to their own devices. If she's giving a new rank and responsibility to a cat, she's going to make sure to check in on them when she can. Again, the following threads are all optional.
Apprentice check-ins Wolfblossom likes to keep tabs on the cats that she’s given a new rank to. While these topics are optional, she’ll ask how their training is going, how they’re getting along with their mentor, and offer to help them with a particular skill (hunting, fighting, tree-climbing) if she or the apprentice think it’s needed. These topics are not intended to be formal training, especially for apprentices given to a mentor that needs their T4 training requirements fulfilled, but can use the system if the apprentice’s RPer would like. Ideally, these optional topics would occur somewhere along the midpoint of an apprentice's training - after they've at least gone through some training, but possibly haven't taken the trip to the moonstone quite yet. These topics are entirely optional, and check-ins should remain strictly in-character.
Optionally, instead you can opt for a more "formal" assessment of your apprentice's skills. Wolfblossom will follow an apprentice as they hunt a set number of prey, or watch as they spar with a clanmate. If a predator is encountered while hunting, Wolfblossom will step in to help, but will also take note of how the apprentice reacts to the interruption and how they fight. Again, this type of topic is not meant to be the sole thing that earns an apprentice their requirements, and is more meant for character development, but it can be used for this as well. Mentors are also encouraged to be present for this style of topic, if the RPer chooses to go with this.
Mentor check-ins Another optional topic, that can be used to fill the "interact with a clanmate" development topic if wanted. Similar to check-ins on the apprentices, Wolfblossom will check in with mentors to discuss how they feel training is progressing, and if they have any concerns about their apprentice or training, or they can ask her for advice of some sort, Wolfblossom will do her best to work with them. As with apprentice check-ins, these are strictly in-character and not to be a reflection of OOC matters. Mentors are also encouraged to accompany Wolfblossom and their apprentice on the "formal" assessment mentioned as an option above.
