One Humongous Border Patrol

Sagestar waited outside of the clan entrance for hopefully his deputy and many of the new warriors-in-training for a tour around the clan's land. He was slightly looking forward to this, though the apprentices might be a pawful. He remembered when he had done this before for Nightwing, Cedarfur, and Snowstorm. It couldn't be that terrible. The leader simply eyed the setting sun and continued to sit silently, the end of his tail flicking back and forth.

Nightpaw came bounding from the apprentice den; a large smile on her face. She slid to a stop infront of Sagestar, standing tall. "Are we doing anything today Sagestar?" she said; her eyes bright as she watched her mentor. She still couldn't believe that Sagestar himself was training her!

Darkpaw came, not far behind Nightpaw. "No, we aren't. We are just going to go fall in love with a fox!" she said with a snort. They had better had been woken up for a good reason, not to go see if Sagestar was full of sunshine or something stupid. Her black tail lashed once when she sat down, glaring at nothing. Darkpaw was lovely when she was just woken up, don't you think?

Nightwing approached the group, her pelt groomed and belly full after eating a quick frog. Her eyes gazed around the group, checking off the cats that were there. "I hope not." The deputy huffed in an amused way. Then mewed in greeting to the other two cats in the group. Nightwing letting her gaze fall around camp. Things were just about picking up. Her black and white ears tilted towards the apprentice's den waiting for the others to get out of the den.

Smokepaw pushed her way out of the den, and over to her mentor. Sleep still apparent in her eyes, but she soon shoke the tiredness out of her, and smiled at the other apprentices. She looked at Nightpaw, and responded her input. "I hope we do something exciting!" She purred happily.

Shadepaw followed out, leaping up next to Smokepaw. "Exciting? Any training can be exciting, as long as you know how to have fun." He purred, glancing at Darkpaw with a teasing look in his eyes. "Some of us might have a little trouble though."

Sagestar gave his deputy a grateful look, and gave the apprentices a bit more of a stern gaze, though amusement was shining brightly in his eyes. He loved their enthusiasm, but they needed to focus. "Since you all are just starting your training, we'll just be taking a regular patrol around to show you the territory." The tabby said, "You'll see WindClan, Fourtrees, and ThunderClan." He could show them Carrionplace another time, looking meaningfully at his deputy. "And I think it'd be wise to look around the SkyClan border as well." With a flick of his tail, the leader stood up and walked up, heading towards WindClan first.

Ooc: Since others aren't posting...

Ic: Shadepaw followed eagerly, taking up place behind the two mentors as he walked. For a moment he wondered if border patrols were always this big...perhaps they looked like a battle patrol so cats who saw them would get scared and not cross the border. Maybe he'd ask in a moment, but first he wanted to have a good look around, his eyes darting everywhere as he tried to take in the whole territory at once. Shadepaw wanted to be the first to memorize the land; every bush, path, and tree.

ooc;; I guess now would be a good time to point out that ShadowClan doesn't live in a forest, only a whole lot of this... o3o

The tom said nothing as he eyed the last of the setting sun and glancing around their land, seeing the fireflies starting to come out and glancing in the marsh waters, seeing the many tadpoles flee from the sounds of their steps. Their territory wasn't the most bountiful or beautiful, but it was something to appreciate. "What do you kits know about WindClan?" He quizzed the new apprentices, casting a glance over his shoulder for a moment before pausing and scenting the breeze. They'd be near their land soon.

Smokepaw followed the others carefully taking notes on the territory around her in case she ever go lost. The dark gray she-cat carefully crept along her paws making an occasional splash in the marshy water below. She paused for a moment to think when she heard Sagestar's words. "I know that they eat icky rabbit. She mewed with a hint of disgust in her tone. "I prefer a nice frog. She mewed on, having to add her input.

Ooc: Exactly why I put every bush and tree, considering there are so few it'd be easy to memorize :)

Ic: Shadepaw nodded in agreement. "...And they're really fast! Obviously they got to be fast to catch those rabbits." He added, moving to the side a little to see if he could spot the border ahead. But he didn't exactly know what the border even looked like or what it was marked with, so it was a bit hard to find it. Instead he moved back into his spot and waited to be shown.

"Yup; and they are skinnier then us!" Nightpaw added in as she took a deep breath. She could already smell what she figured was WindClan. She had never smelled such an odd scent before... Her yellow eyes sparkled in the faint moonlight, before glancing at her mentor. She started to try to figure out what she knew of the other Clans; just in case Sagestar asked about them.

Occ: Sorry for not posting; this week has/is going to be busy and tiring for me.

"They live on open land, and are cowards." Darkpaw's eyes flashed as she looked at Sagestar. "What would happen if we fought them in the dark, Sagestar? If we were on their land, I mean. Would the dark make it harder or easier for us?" She had been walking in silence, a quiet observer. If we know how the enemy thinks, we....know how the enemy thinks. she snorted softly to herself at the dumb thought.

Nightwing let Sagestar answer the questions. Because Splotchy is working on other stuff >:U /shot Her paws dipping into the puddles, with a light splash. Though she had been silent most of the time, her facial expressions were more then amused. "I'd hope we wouldn't have to fight them in the first place." The deputy felt the memories of the war with the Deos flash through her mind. The clans had worked together. Now their was peace, but how long would that actually last? "If it was in the dark, we would have the advantage of surprise. Though the WindClan cats are fast and small. So we move a lot slower because of our bulky structures. But we have powerful paws, so then if they get hit, it slows them down."

"I would watch your mouth if I were you, apprentice. The gray windclan leader growled as she was passing by the border, but happened to over hear the apprentice. Raccoonstar looked up to see Sagestar, and Nightwing. "Greetings Sagestar. I see you are teaching new apprentices?" The leader half stated, half asked.

Smokepaw jumped as the new unusual voice, appeared out of no where. The gray cat looked small, but she looked mean, and threatening. The apprentice took a step back behind Nightwing, hoping the deputy would protect her from the Windclan leader. The leader looked small, and weak, but the apprentice heard the story of the Deos, and how she fight them with the others.
