Hopepaw's Border Patrol

Sparrowflight looked down at the apprentice. "The trees over there belong to ThunderClan. The ones over there belong to SkyClan. Remember the scent for when you see them at the gathering." The she-cat explained and flicked over to each area with her tail in their own turn.

"Well, I suppose it won't hurt anything." Sparrowflight laughed lightly and greeted her sister, then turning to look at Maypaw. "That's strange, you shouldn't be able to scent WindClan until we're by the gorge." She shrugged. The young cat's senses were at it's peaks... And there was an awfully strong breeze today. She gritted her teeth and tried her best not too think past that.

Badgerfang padded up next to Sparrowflight, letting out a small sigh. "We won't be able to hide this forever, one day the truth will come out..." Badgerfang whispered, so only her sibling cold hear her.

"Maybe someone's intruding!" Hopepaw growled. "Ma-maybe we should, um, go back now?" Hopepaw was scared to actually maybe be near another warrior from another clan.

A dark shadow glazed over Sparrowflight's eyes, her voice choked in denial, low enough that it were to reach Badgerfang's ears only. "I don't know what you're talking about, dear sister..." She was broken out of her little trance-like state at the sound of her apprentice. "Don't worry, Hopepaw, all scents here are stale. Let's just hurry and head to four-trees..." The she-cat got back on her feet and padded away.

"Oh- okay." she said, and followed Sparrowflight.

Sparrowflight didn't say another word until they had reached the path to their sacred land.

Hopepaw looked up at Sparrowflight. Did what she said before about siblings upset her?

"This is Fourtrees." Sparrowflight explained, stopping in front of the two-leg bridge that led to the grounds. "All the clans meet up here at the full moon for a night of peace to share news and stories."

"Whoa." Hopepaw said. It was really Fourtrees! Right before her eyes!

Badgerfang nodded, as she padded up next to them, not really wanting to speak.

Maypaw stared and laughed. "This is gonna be GREAT-- being an apprentice and all!"

Sparrowflight smiled slightly. "Let's hurry and finish, I'm sure you all are getting hungry." She led them to the edge of the gorge. "Don't get too close, this gorge is dangerous, even we have trouble swimming in the waters... There is the abandoned two-leg stand, you find a loner in there every now and then, keep on walking that way up and you'll get to high-stones."

"Hungry? I'm starving!" Hopepaw joked. She followed Sparrowflight.

"Well then, let's go home." Sparrowflight flicked Hopepaw with the tip of her tail playfully and headed back to camp.
