Border patrol

"Hey Featherpaw," Mistpelt called as she steped into the camp and went up to the apprentice den. "Would you like to go on the morning border patrol?"

''you know it!''she mwed.the young she-cats heart almost stopped''well,lets go'' she mewed

OOC:how do you patrol the border?

"Alright." Mistpelt meowed, leading the way out of camp. She figured they should start at the river, so they went there first. They renewed the scent markers and continued along the border. When they made it to the twoleg bridge, she asked, "Can you scent anything, Featherpaw?"

OOC: Well, basically like in the books. We walk around the territory, renew the scent markers, and scent for dangers and intruders.

she took a deep breath then a big sniff she hesitated then sniffed again''hhhhhmmmm''she mewed.
''i smell... dog...in other words...fresh dung''


OOC:can i report this at the gathering?

"Hmm..." Mistpelt parted her mouth to scent the air as well. "The Twolegs do take their dogs out here, I suppose that's what the bridge is for...but they don't leave them, they always take them back with them." She meowed reassuringly.

OOC: Well, we don't have an upcoming gathering. I'm planning on waiting for a bit on that. Besides, we have a prophacy and apparently a badger attack, so I don't think there should be a dog invasion as well...

''really?''featherpaw mewed''twolegs are wierd.''she sniffed again''i smell...''she walked off a couple paces''i smell...ShadowClan...and...''she walked off a little more''the scent heads northwest...towards...us they might be on patrol to''she scented again''what do you think?''

"The scent probably drifted over from their territory." Mistpelt meowed, "we are down-wind from them. And Fourtrees as well, all the Clans' scent is there." she added.

she sniffed once again''hhhmmm...''she walked off mindlessly on a scent trail''m-mistpelt...
about that badger...i smell it...very fresh...more than one...in riverclan! im not kidding!''she mewed.
her deep blue eyes became wide with fear.

"Featherpaw..." Mistpelt sighed, looking at the apprentices fearful expression. "The badger-or badges, I'm not sure which-went over to ThunderClan's territory. They were on our side of the border first, so this is probably the route they took to get there. Where they came from as well, if we'd bother following the scent trail the other way." She explained, wondering if she had an underlying fear of badgers.

''SORRY!i hate badgers! a badger ate my brother...any badger that crosses my path is dead meat!''
she mewed . she began to sniffle,but did not want to make a scene,esspecially in front of mistpelt.
she sniffed again''....hhhmmm....''she mewed''no danger or intruders... maybe we should move to a
different part of the forest...i cant smell anything''

"I'm sorry to hear that, Featherpaw." Mistpelt meowed. "It's a good thing the're aren't any dangers, though." She lightened the subject, "Let's follow the river over to the WindClan border, renew the scent markers over there." She raised a paw, ready to head off in that direction.

''ok!''she mewed padding after her''so,how do we do this?''

OOC: Do I honestly have to say exactly how we mark a border? =/

IC: "Well, I'll show you how to do it. I'll mark it here..." she pointed with her tail to the spot in question, "And you can do it a little farther down." She marked the border and went to the next spot. "Here." she mewed, poking the spot with her paw, and walking a little farther down to wait.

"I think the borders done now. And everything seems fine on this side of the border...Shall we head back now?" She asked Featherpaw.
