She shook her head. "It doesn't matter." She mewed, regaining her composture. "We've got a squirrel and a vole. Those are great catches, especially for leaf fall."

"It is." Stripedspine meowed.

She licked him around the ears. "Wanna keep hunting, or bury these and get them later and go for a walk?" Moonpaw asked.

"Let's go for a walk," he decided "If you want." he added hastily.

"Of course." She purred, her eyes glimmering in delight. "Where to?"

"Anywhere," Stripedspine purred."I can't wait until your a warrior."

Moonpaw gave a little jump. "Me neither!"

They started walking towards the Sky Oak.

"What now?" he asked.

Moonpaw stared awkwardly at her paws. "Uhhhmmmmm.." She mumbled

Stripedspine sat next to Moonpaw."Are you cold?" he asked her.

"No, but thanks." Moonpaw felt his warm flank against her fur. She licked his ear. "No one ever gets to see you like this, you're always so guarded.." She murmured.

Exept Rosejade. But he shook the thought away."I protect the ones I love." he replied.

She purred, eyes half-shut with contentement. "I know." But their was something else he wasn't telling her, Moonpaw could tell by the edge on his voice. "What wrong?" She asked sympathetically.

"Nothing." he lied.

"Okay.." She sounded hurt, and wasn't convinced. "You know you can tell me anything."
