peaceful autumn nights (open)

Shaka shaka. Tsh-shh-shh.

Snaildance was spending a few peaceful moments grooming when the sound of something light hitting the camp floor caught her attention. "Oh. Pinecone." She stared at the thing, its woody tabs flared out and undamaged from its fall. It smelled a bit bitter, not yet rich and deep like how she honestly preferred them to smell. 'Do I really have an opinion on how pinecones smell?' With a bewildered snort she smacked it with a paw. The way it spun and rolled along the ground was pretty fun! "Hehe."

She hadn't walked in the walls of camp in this way for quite some time. Wandering away, off in some twoleg den that held her captive for far too long, only finally wandering back. Well, it meant she had gotten an almost impossibly fluffy pelt, tipped with that rare silver. Somehow, her paws carried her back home without much forethought. A meeting with Leopardstar not long ago had given her her place back in the clan, and so now, she was finding her rhythm again. What better more than to talk to some clanmates?

It only helped that the one she saw was having fun tossing around a pinecone. She had missed them. With eyes that widened near-impossibly, the warrior darted forward, there to play with a similar pinecone as to the one that her clanmate seemed to be enjoying, too. However, batting it forward, she followed it--only to end up with her nose pressed right up against that of the clanmate batting them about in the first place. "Oh. I'm sorry. Hi."

Sunflare was rather pleased to see Hollowgrove back where she belonged. She was kin, and while he no longer held disdain for kittypets, she belonged here. He sat, silently observing as his mentor’s daughter played with a clanmate. I miss you, cousin. I promise to watch over your remaining kits. Despite his somber mood, the skinny tom couldn’t help but purr as he watched the pinecones skitter across camp.

He found a pinecone of his own, tapping his claws rhythmically against it. Tapping turned to pouncing, and soon one of ShadowClan’s council was playing like a kit. “Think fast!” he chirped, chucking the pinecone in the direction of the two she-cats.
