Once the cheers for Moldpaw settled she purred smiling to Laurelriver and Moldpaw, nodding her head in congrats to them.

"Everyone, there is more, the sickness that Moldpaw got over also was gotten over by Rainkit. Rainkit, my daughter please step forward

Rainkit had been jumping up and down excited and happy for her friend moldpaw, it was no fun being sick with them but maybe now they could be training together.

When mom called her up she was more than ready, she didnt like being so far behind Creamlily, it was about time she was done being sick and could maybe at least catch up a little bit to her sister littermate.

Rapidfire had spoken to her lifelong friend earlier, he had agreed to train Rain. She felt a little bad asking him to take on another apprentice seeing as how he had so many but she just thought that he and rain would be a good match together.

"Rainkit, from now on you will be Rainpaw, your mentor will be Oatfluff."

Rainpaw could hardly believe it was happening, for so long she had been sick and was wondering if she would ever survive to her apprentice day.

She went over on shy quiet paws towards her mentor, she was a lot quieter and more observent than her mum, not as talkative at all.

She looked up at the brown, fluffy mentor and warrior by her side. She waved a tail flick hello, for now too shy to speak any meows of greeting.

Rainkit's ceremony, hmm? Creamlily wanted to laugh at her sister's expression. She must be so glad to finally be out of the nursery. Who knows, she might even be Rainkit's mentor. Wouldn't that be cute? The tabby didn't feel jealous, surprisingly, that today was her sister's special day. She just found it funny. She had already earned her warrior name, so it was already clear for everyone to see that she was the better sister. She had no worries about whether Rainkit would outshine her. As if.

Oatfluff, hmm? "Congrats, sister, you finally became an apprentice!" She called out to the newly-named Rainpaw, not even bothering to hide the laughter in her voice. "Maybe I'll get to take you out for a training session one day!"

Rainkit's eyes narrowed at her sisters mocking tone. Her tail flicked angerly. She rolled her eyes to herself, like she would ever want to train with Cream! She huffed to herself, thank the stars mom had enough sense to not put Cream as her mentor, she would be reminded every day how her sister got her oh so precious warrior name first.

The quieter kit went to sit next to Oatfluff and flicked an ear pretending she didnt even hear her sister at all.

She looked up at him not saying a word but tilted her head slightly silently hoping he would show her sparing first so she could go kick her sisters tail in a spar match, that would show her!

OATFLUFFare you going to age with grace?
he/him - t4 windclan warrior
Oatfluff couldn't hide his surprise as his best friend asked him to step forward. She had conferred with him earlier, but it wasn't any less of a shock. Him, a mentor, again? He supposed Redpaw and Smudgepaw had gone missing, so perhaps Rapidfire wanted to give him another chance. He didn't mind! Besides, she had said herself that she thought the pair would be a good match. Rainpaw was a bit shy, but he could work with that.

Oatfluff flicked his tail in return, then broke into a warm smile. "Hi, Rainpaw! I'm pretty good friends with your mom, so I hope we can be pretty good friends too. It's okay to be quiet - I can talk enough for two cats." He reassured, laughter in his voice as he poked fun at himself. But he didn't miss the laughter in Creamlily's voice as she walked by. Unlike his genuine amusement, hers was mocking. Oatfluff frowned. He turned to Rainpaw's sister. Something in her expression reminded him distinctly of Heatherfrost - the molly that had picked on him during his apprenticeship. At least he hadn't been related to his bully.

"I hardly think that will be necessary, Creamlily. But don't you have other matters to attend to? Tick duty, or cleaning out the elders' den - whatever you brand new warriors do?" Oatfluff said, his voice laced with faux sweetness. It pained him to insult the other, more dutiful junior warriors, but Creamlily clearly needed standing up to.

"Right then," he meowed, turning back to Rainpaw with a softer expression. "Should we start with battle training, then?"

Rainpaw blinked as her mentor was talking to himself and at his little joke at himself, she stayed very quiet unsure of what to think of all that. At least him and mom were friends, so he must be kind of good right? She thought to herself shyly.

Moments later her ears perked up listening to him address her littermate. Her eyes grew wide looking up at him, he had just stood up for her? Her whole life she trailed behind Cream, never able to really stand up for herself because of her sickness and all.

She was so tired of her sister belittling her and when he called her out on it, he shot up in her mind from being an unknown stranger who was a bit big and intimidating to being an absolute hero!

She flicked her tail back and forth gazing up at him, he might as well have stars on his pelt in her eyes, truely a saint. She couldnt have dreamed of a better mentor!!!

She nodded at Creamlily,

yeah! get told meanie! she thought to herself

His expression softened and turned back to her now? She nodded still so shy to actually speak much of anything, she would do her absolute best now! She had wanted to train hard anyways to beat cream in a spar to show her she wasnt worthless. Well now, she also wanted to train hard to show appreciation for the bestest mentor in the whole world!
