Amber-Kit Kit | WindClan | she/her
The kit tumbled out of the metal beast- Onto the pavement of the Thunderpath with her sibling. The little girl, Amber, as her mother called her, immediately ran for the grasses of Windclan territory... The little boy, however, wasn't so lucky. Amber never saw it, the body of her brother, and she didn't know the dangers of the Thunderpath... Still, she went into the grasses further, oblivious of the loss of life.
"Mama? Mama, where are you??" The kit mewled for her protector without any regard for the noise she made, looking in the tall grass for the figure she thought was with her.
""Mama!?!?" The kit yowled this time, at the top of her tiny voice- Hoping that she'd somehow be brought home. discord: DevilKitten | timezone: US Central | code (c) kieerand tessisamess

The thunderpath was far from one of Cloudjumper's favorite places, but as part of Windclan's border it must be patrolled like anything else, so she did so without complaint. Leopardwind was assigned to the same patrol as well, so that made the acrid stench that wafted onto the territory almost tolerable even if she would have preferred hunting or a spar.
Every once in a while a monster would roar past, and Cloudjumper's nose wrinkled in disgust. She didn't understand the bulky, fast-moving creatures and didn't care to. So long as they kept to the thunderpath and didn't harm her clanmates...
A wail cut through the warm greenleaf air, decidedly not the roaring of the monsters... And coming from a bit further into the territory. The young warrior stiffened, jaws parting. "Leopardwind, did you hear that?" Cloudjumper's head turned in the direction the noise had come from, and she carefully moved forward. The wails continued, immediately clear that this was no predator. A kit... But what Windclanner in their right mind would leave a kit out on the territory? She couldn't even imagine Nectarflower letting one of the kits in the nursery out of her sight for long, much less long enough for one to wander so far from camp.
Without checking if Leopardwind was following her, the lithe calico broke into a trot, hardly noticing anything else as she made her way toward the wailing kit. "Oh, poor thing... What sort of queen abandons a kit out here?" The kit didn't even look old enough to be made an apprentice. "Shh, little one. We won't harm you." Perhaps there was more of her mother in her than just the calico pelt and smaller stature after all. "Do you have a name?"
"I don't see signs of any other cat around, just us. What are we supposed to do?" She glanced from the kit to her darker-furred clanmate, "We can't just leave a kit out here, right?"

Leopardwind found himself enjoying patrols spent with Cloudjumper. The two of them were so like-minded that working on any task was simple and efficient to complete. They made a great team, at least in his mind. The black tom eyed the Thunderpath as they approached it; he hated the smell, the sound, the rough surface... he hated the entire thing. Why Twolegs loved to put these everywhere, he had no idea. Still, he couldn't have refused the patrol. Someone had to do it, and he had no reason not to. It was just part of being a warrior... he couldn't like everything he did, even if he tried to.
Leopardwind froze as a thin wail pierced the rumble. He strained his ears; he could barely hear the cry over the roar of the Monsters. It seems that Cloudjumper had heard the cry as well, as the she-cat stiffened beside him. She spoke before he could, and he nodded his head in acknowledgement. So his ears weren't playing tricks on him after all. He tried scenting the air, but the stench of the Thunderpath was overpowering. Stiffling a growl, the black tom followed calico towards the source of the noise.
The warrior blinked in confusion at the sight of the kit. He didn't recognise the kit, but then again it had been some time since he last visited the nursery. Surely, neither Nectarflower nor Lavendercloud would let a kit stray so far away from Camp without saying anything? To walk all the way here, this kit must have gone missing even before they set off for the patrol. The kit looked way too young to be able to walk such a far distance, however. Leopardwind's eyes narrowed. Could it be that this kit was not from WindClan after all?
Paying no mind to his patrolmate's fussing, the long-legged warrior stepped forward to experimentally scent the kit. Oh, that definetly was not a WindClanner's scent. This kit reeked of the Twolegplace. His lips curled in disgust; had this kit's parents left this thing here expecting WindClan to care for it?
But Cloudjumper was right; they couldn't leave this kit here. The Warrior Code itself dictated that they had to offer assistance to any kit they found, regardless of the kit's origins. With a small irritable flick of his tail, Leopardwind turned to his patrolmate. "You're right, we can't leave this kit here. Why don't we bring the kit back to Camp so that Hemlockfox can check on it's condition, and Rapidfire or Tigerstar can send out another patrol searching for it's parents? We should try to find the parents before we decide anything," He suggested. It seemed the most logical course of action, though he hated the idea of dragging this kittypet-spawn further into WindClan territory. "Plus, the longer we stay out here, the more risk we have of a predator hearing the kit's cries and coming to look for trouble," He added.

Amber-Kit Kit | WindClan | she/her
The kitten looked at them both with wide eyes, her yowling and mewling going quiet as soon as the two cats showed up. Her fur puffed up in a feeble attempt at intimidation, and she seemed a bit wary of the two new cats...
"W-who... Are you...? Your not my Mama..." Her words came out more scared then she intended- She was disoriented and confused and afraid all in one. Still, to think a queen would abandon a kit not even 2 moons old... All together it made a slightly pitiful picture, albeit a thankfully quieter one. She had a big voice for such a little form. discord: DevilKitten | timezone: US Central | code (c) kieerand tessisamess

Cloudjumper nodded at her patrolmate's words. "I think that's a good idea. And staying out here in this heat can't be good for anyone, much less a kit this young." Hemlockfox could check the kitten over at camp, the queens could surely help take care of her while they searched for family, right?
"We're not." She agreed gently with the kit, "But we can try to help you find her, okay? But it's not safe for you to be on the edge of the thunderpath all alone. Would you come back to camp with us? We'll get you fed and looked at, and you'll be safe while we look for your mama." She tried to offer reassurance. But if a kit was all the way out here with no other cat scent around, Cloudjumper had a sinking suspicion that mama would not be found. The scent that came off of the little kit belonged to no clan or cat that she was familiar with. But Cloudjumper would keep that doubt to herself. One glance at Leopardwind and she knew that her clanmate, so like-minded to her, already shared her thought process.

Leopardwind's ear flicked as the kit spoke up. She sounded so young, it was almost pitiful that she had been left here at all. Surely, an cat that had been determined to be useless so early in their life wouldn't flourish much at all, but he kept that thought to himself. And if this kit had been left here long enough for her to have crawled into WindClan territory and started crying, he highly doubted that the parents would be lingering around. If they were, they likely wouldn't want to be seen by any Clan cats. He glanced over at Cloudjumper, the look in her eyes showing that she too shared his line of thought.
The black warrior straightened, and looked expectantly at Cloudjumper to pick the kit up. So far, she was the one that seemed more caring towards the kit; probably from spending so much time with her mother Nectarflower and hence picking up a thing or two about kits. Leopardwind, on the other paw, was useless at being comforting to anyone. He had a feeling that should he try to touch the kit, she'd break out into another crying mess.

Amber-Kit Kit | WindClan | she/her
Amber looked between them, a bit overwhelmed and scared still, but calming down... Her back slowly lowered from the arch, her fur flattening and her ears unpinning themselves from her skull.
"You'll help me find my Mama...? The two-leg took me from her..." A stolen kit then. Would explain the scent as well. She seemed to get more hopeful, but if she was stolen from her mother, then who knows where they were.
"What, uhm... What is your names...? I'm Amber..." Amber was nervous still, but quickly becoming bolder. Her body language was reflecting her calming down, those kitten blue-green eyes were intently looking up, full attention on them. discord: DevilKitten | timezone: US Central | code (c) kieerand tessisamess

"Twolegs..." Cloudjumper frowned at that. Twolegs weren't good news at all. She had no experience with them thankfully, but had heard all the nursery tales. If the kit and her mother had been separated...
Amber... A fitting name for the little kit, she thought. "I'm Cloudjumper, and this is my clanmate Leopardwind. We're Windclanners - you were lucky to stumble onto our territory instead of some place more dangerous." Of course, the environment could always be dangerous, especially for a kit so young. It was a good thing that she and Leopardwind had been patrolling where they were, to be able to hear the kit's cries for help.

Twolegs... that wasn't a good sign. If Twolegs had left this kit here, Leopardwind highly doubted that they would be back anytime soon in search of her. And who knows how far the Twolegs had travelled? Monsters seemed to move faster than lightning, and oddly enough Twolegs loved to... crawl into their bellies and stay there. The black tom shuddered at the thought of what went on inside a Monster.
Leopardwind nodded to show agreement with Cloudjumper's statement. In fact, this kit was lucky that Cloudjumper had been on the patrol with him at all. Had it been up to him, he would have left this unwanted pile of fur to starve. But now that they were heading for Camp, Leopardwind supposed he would have to accept the fact that they would probably be taking in this kit as an official member of the Clan. At least, the kit was young enough to have some influence over how she turned out later in life.
"Come on, let's hurry up. The sooner we get back to Camp, the sooner we can send a search party out," Leopardwind mewed as he quickened his pace, glancing back every now and then to make sure that Cloudjumper was keeping up.
