Weevilpaw pranced out of the apprentice den, into camp. The summer sun was shining, and a warm breeze made the grass dance. She smiled and her dark amber eyes sparkled as she made her way to the entrance of camp. Another apprentice was just outside the entrance, and she picked up her pace to join the young cat at their side.
“Hello! My name is Weevilpaw, would you like to spar with me?” Weevilpaw chirped as she accidentally, but gently bumped into the other cat. Viperpaw pursed her lips as she felt herself being knocked to the side, green eyes darting to the cat that had disturbed her. ”Weavilpaw, is it? her tone was annoyed, bushy tail swaying unhappily ”pay more attention, you nearly knocked me over.” she snapped, turning to finally look at the chipper apprentice. The golden she-cat sniffed, unimpressed with the younger cat, but she quickly remembered she needed to welcome her clanmates, even if she was better than them. She wouldn’t be able to lead effectively if no one liked her. ”Gosh, you sure are excitable, aren’t you? It is cute, in a way. I suppose I can spar with you.” she mewed ”I’m Viperpaw by the way, daughter of the noble Tigerstar, in case you were wondering.” she puffed out her chest for a bit of extra emphasis.

Weevilpaw gave a slight chuckle to her fellow apprentice. “Sorry Viperpaw!” She chirped before continuing to walk out of camp. “My mom is Rapidfire, the deputy! So, our parents run the clan together!” She mewed as the two of them got closer to the blooming meadow. She figured that would be a good place to spar; lots of nice thick grass to catch her if she stumbled.
A quick smack to her den mate’s shoulder was a sign to start the sparring but Weevilpaw still decided to speak too. “I’m ready when you are!” She mewed before moving back a few steps and dropping down in her best defensive crouch
Weevilpaw used Smack on Viperpaw for -4 HP and -5 EP

”Oh, so does that make me like your aunt, like the boss of you?” chimed Viperpaw, though she did let herself relax a little. Perhaps that was her mistake, because Weavilpaw was then barging into her. The molly’s eyes narrowed, before realising they were suppose to be sparring. Right, that kind of invoked getting smacked about. fun! she was internally rolling her eyes, while kicking herself for agreeing to something so stupid. Part of her wanted to go back in her word, but unfortunately there were witnesses, and if she was to be leader one day she needed to be reliable. Her word had to count for something. With a grin, Viperpaw suddenly lurched towards Weavilpaw, bowling her over. She placed her forepaws squarely on the other she-cat’s chest. ”Ready!” she chided, with a smirk.
Viperpaw used Leap and Hold on Weavilpaw, dealing -5 HP and costing -15 EP Weavilpaw is pinned for two turns!

Weevilpaw’s head tilted at Viperpaw’s remark. She wasn’t sure how she felt about another apprentice being her boss, but it didn’t really matter. Before she could say anything Viperpaw had her pinned to the ground. She struggled to get her legs to work with her and she was unintentionally flailing in every direction. Finally, the flailing stopped, and she laid on the ground under Viperpaw trying to catch her breath. "I don't think I was ready!" She quietly huffed.
