Subject: Cloudpaw's Warrior Ceremony Wed 19 Jun 2024 - 21:31
Tigerstar jumped up onto the tall rock, green eyes turning to face the wide space of the camp as he settled on his perch. It was time for another ceremony, another warrior. Things were getting better and he was happy. The striped tom cleared his throat before calling out. "Let all cats old enough to run the moor gather here for a clan meeting!
Cloudpaw had recently returned from a patrol, and rested near the edge of camp, grooming her short fur. Slowly but surely, the current apprentices were moving up in ranks and their spot was filled with the seemingly endless kits the clan had recently. With her moonstone recently finished, Cloudpaw was certain that it would be her turn to move up soon, and when Tigerstar called for a clan meeting she would be ready. Not caught with a messy pelt.
As if her thoughts had summoned the leader, his voice was clear as it rang across camp. Cloudpaw stood and moved closer to the tallrock, both curious to the meeting's reason and hopeful that it might be her own ceremony.
"Today we are gathered to name another warrior. This apprentice has trained hard, and worked diligently. Cloudpaw would you please come forward." The leader said, turning his gaze to the mentioned apprentice, noting her already groomed fur. She had been prepared, willingly or not.
"I, Tigerstar, leader of Windclan call upon our warrior ancestors to look down upon this apprentice, she has trained hard to understand your ways and I commend her to you as a warrior in turn. Cloudpaw, do you promise to uphold the code, defend and honor Windclan even at the cost of your life?"
She had hoped to hear her name called, but actually hearing it sent a thrill of excitement down the young she-cat's spine. Cloudpaw was quick to step forward as Tigerstar bid her to, elation shining in her eyes. She had pushed herself during training, had worked hard for this moment. Spiderdance would be proud to see his apprentice named, her parents would be proud. So too was Cloudpaw. Her work, her effort, had gotten her here.
"I do." Cloudpaw mewed, voice confident and unwavering.
Tigerstar nodded, appreciating the answer like he always did when it came to these ceremonies. It didn't matter to him if it was the same words, their tone conveyed what they meant when they said them, proved their dedication. With her answer he could continue. "Then by the powers of Starclan I grant you your warrior name. Cloudpaw from this moment on you will be known as Cloudjumper. Windclan honors your dedication and preparation." He said to the new warrior while also addressing the crowd, with that he jumped down and approached Cloudjumper, resting his head atop of hers.
"Congratulations." He told her quietly before stepping back to let others greet and congratulate the new warrior.
Leopardwind was relieved that at least one familiar face would be joining him in the warrior's den. Though he had never spoken to Cloudjumper before, he knew the she-cat to be a friend to some of his siblings, and daughter of Nectarflower and Kestrelchirp. Which he supposed made her the granddaughter of Shrikestar. Not a bad family tree at all. In the future, he should take note to be friendly to the she-cat. Perhaps he should start now.
Seeing that no one was congratulating her personally-- perhaps her family was simply tired at the moment, or Nectarflower was busy taking care of her litter. Whatever the reason, Leopardwind now had a free path to the new warrior. "Congratulations on your new name, Cloudjumper. I look forward to patrolling by your side in the future."

Cloudpaw couldn't supress her smile as Tigerstar continued, bestowing her the name of Cloudjumper. At last, her dedication was being recognized by the leader himself! She reveled in the crowd calling her new name, and Leopardwind, a cat she'd kept pace with in training, was the first to approach her. "Thank you, Leopardwind." She mewed, "Perhaps we'll patrol together soon!"
Nectarflower peered out from the nursery at Tigerstar's summons, her green eyes round with curiosity. She shushed the kits at her paws and bade them to find a game to play before limping into the clearing. Tigerstar didn't call meeting often except to name a new warrior. Several of her own kits had made themselves comfortable in the apprentice's den, but she doubted any of them had been training long enough to become a warrior so soon. Though, there was Leopardwind, who'd flown through his own training at breakneck speed.
Regardless, she wanted to be there to support whichever young cat would be earning their warrior name today. The tortoiseshell queen settled alongside her clanmates and cast her gaze upward, ears pricked. Though, as he continued, her chest grew warm. Great StarClan, one of her kits was earning their warrior name! She eyed Cloudpaw, chest puffed out with pride for her daughter, and kneaded the ground, eager to race to her kit's side and shower her with praise. It was nothing short of amazing how quickly she finished her training!
As such, she was the first to call out her daughter's new name. "Cloudjumper!!!" With a purr, Nectarflower got to her paws and trotted to Cloudjumper's side none too gracefully. "Dear, I can't believe it! It seemed like just yesterday you became an apprentice!" As she finished speaking, her gaze drifted to Leopardwind, and a mischievous smile tugged at her lips. "Oh-!" With a playful hum, she looked between the two young warriors and tipped her head to the side, eyes sparkling. "I do hope I'm not interrupting anything."
