A Group for Food [closed]

Kestrelchirp led his little duo to the flower fields. Laurelpaw and Gorsepaw were both his apprentices- his own child! It had been a massive undertaking for him, but he felt like he was doing well. Pausing at a crest, the warrior turned to the two apprentices. "Well, I'd like you two to show me what you know of hunting. I'd like to assess your skills to see what can be improved." He said in his honied voice, a grin cracking at the end. "It can be a contest, if you two wish. Whoever wins gets first pick for their evening meal." He flicked his tail to the fields around them, waiting for their responses.

Gorsepaw's hesitance dropped the moment they all stepped into the flower fields. Nectarflower had told her stories of how pretty it was, but being able to see it, to touch the flowers and the expanding twisting colors was a different story! Gorsepaw had been so mesmerized by the sight that she had almost tuned out Kestrelchirp. Hunting! She could do that! She was already good at catching bugs, and what were prey but larger bugs? The apprenticed beamed at her father. "Okay! If I win can I bring some flowers home too, please? Pretty pretty please Kestrelchirp!"

Laurelpaw beamed at Gorsepaw's suggestion. "Yeah! Can we go picking flowers after we catch some prey? Pretty please?" Imagine if they could bring back a couple rabbits and flowers back to camp. That would make it the best hunting trip ever, especially if she won the hunting competition to boot.

A warm sense of feeling rushed over Kestrelchirp. His kid and his apprentice were so like him. With a cheeky nod, the warrior winked to them. "I could never say no to that. But first, you two must catch something." The tall tom stepped aside, swishing his tail to the beyond where hopefully, rabbits ran in abundance.
