Hiding From the Sun [c]

Instead of training as Kestrelchirp had instructed, Gorsepaw had been sidetracked by something truly fascinating. A bug nearly the size of her paw has been wandering around in the tall grasses just outside of camp. It had nearly double the amount of legs she had, and a set of giant pincers on the front of its face! Gorsepaw followed the creature around for what felt like hours before she finally scooped it up between her teeth, careful to keep the pincers pointing away from her, then the she trotted back to camp.

Upon reaching the dip, Gorsepaw scanned the hollow for Kestrelchirp. He wasn't in sight, though she was sure he'd have something to say the moment he found her. Gorsepaw swiftly made her way towards the apprentice's nests, avoiding the gaze of any warrior that turned to look at her. At last she had made it! She could secure the insect in her nest and continue watching it for however long she wanted! Its armored body began to wiggle in the molly's mouth, and not a moment too soon. One step, two, three, and-

Gorsepaw jumped, turning slowly to face the apprentice with a pair of pincers still protruding from her mouth. Was... Was he talking to her? No one ever talked to her aside from her family and, um... Falconpaw? Though, they didn't really talk much since leaving the nursery. Gorsepaw's mouth opened to speak, and out fell the beetle. Amber eyes slid to the insect squirming around on the ground, and there they stayed. She was too embarrassed to look up at her fellow apprentice, and though her mouth worked to try and explain the beetle she had just spit out, nothing seemed to come out. Stars, was it over for her?
