Hiding a Broken Face

Brokenkit silently walked out of the nursery, making sure no one saw her, especially not her face. Quickly, she ran over to the prey pile, trying to decide on what to eat before she would quickly retreat back into isolation. She hated being around others, because she knew they hated to be near her, often finding it too uncomfortable to look at her disfigured face. She pulled a large toad from the pile, dragging it by the leg as she went over to her favorite part of camp, a small patch of bramble that was free of snow underneath. Sitting just underneath the leaves, she began to eat the toad as she watched the other clan members go about their day with a judgmental, bitter eye.

Rosepaw woke and walked out of the apprentice den feeling a little sad. She wished she was a warrior so she could sleep next to newtface but she wasn't she was a mangy apprentice who didn't do anything right. She walked towards the preypile and picked up a mouse. She knew others didn't like her cause she was to emotional and hated it when everyone called her weak. She was a adverage tuxedo cat with blue eyes. Sometimes cats would say her eyes turn a little red mixed with the blue but she didn't believe them. All she cared about was making friends who didn't call her names or be mean. So far that was only newtface. She sighed and sat down eating the little mouse she grabbed. She didn't know what else to do all day besides sulk about stuff.

As Brokenkit continued to eat her toad, she looked down at it and saw that it was somewhat rotting. Disgusting! She spat out what she had in her mouth and threw the frog behind her to be forgotten. However, she was still hungry, having not finished her food and made her way back over to the prey pile. She stopped dead in her tracks, seeing another cat there by the pile and let out a small huff. Great, now she'd have to interact with someone.
Trying to look inconspicuous, she went up to the prey pile and searched around for something that looked tasty but also fresh. Unfortunately, there were no more toads, so she had to settle for a shrew. Not exactly her favorite, but it was okay. As she turned to walk back to her bush, she accidentally made eye contact with the black cat sitting by the pile and paused for a second. Not saying anything, she started to walk away, but knew that now the cat would probably want to talk to her.
Finally, she stopped again, whipped her tail in frustration and turned to look back at the cat. "Don't stare at me or I'll fight you." she growled.

Rosepaw looked up from her food when she heard a kit coming to get something. She smiled at the face and saw how hurt she looked. Guess they where felling the same way. The kit left without talking then turned around and yelled at her. She got up and yawned. She knew this kit probably thought she was scared of her looks or sad but nope Rosepaw thought the kit looked like a warrior and a strong one at that. She sat back down and smiled at the kit. She didn't want to talk in case she scared the kit away.

"What do you want?" Brokenkit huffed. She wasn't used to others smiling at her, unless they were showing sympathy, which she hated.

Rosepaw stoped smiling and wondered why the kit was so mad. "nothing I just like your face it looks like your a really tough kit that doesn't like others." she said not smiling anymore cause the kit looked like it didn't like it. "you are yelling at me for no reason by the way I did nothing wrong just trying to get away from mean cats who hate me." she said and started to lick her paw. She didn't have many friends and the cats that where he friends where from different clans. So far no one knew about her secret friends but soon enough someone would bully her until she told them who the friends where.

"My face is always the first thing you all notice..." Brokenkit grumbled under her breath, about to walk back to her bush when she had a sudden and strange urge to stay and talk with this cat. She at least seemed more releatable than most of the cats in ShadowClan. Perhaps it was unwise to make enemies with the other outcast of the clan, so instead she sat down next to her. "Why would anyone hate you? You seem pretty normal."

She noticed the kit come towards her and she wondered what the kit was thinking. The kit asked her a question so she answered. "i don't know everyone makes fun of how emotional I am or how small. The usually make fun of me cause I'm scared of predators and need a cat with me just to fight them off." she said with a little sadness. The only cat that ever got her was newtface and he always stuck close to her. She smiled at the thought of her tom and became happy again before bursting out in tears.

"Those are issues you can change." Brokenkit said. She looked blankly as Rosepaw suddenly started crying in front of her, feeling nothing as this happened. It was nothing to cry about in her opinion. "Get revenge on the cats who make fun of you. Certainly it can't be that hard."

She didn't want to admit the cats making fun of her where bigger and stronger too. .i think they just are too scared to meet me." she said smiling trying to act like that's why they where mean.

"They're scared because of what they think you can do." Brokenkit said, believing what Rosepaw had told her. "Make them scared of what they know you can do."

She look at the kit confused. "I can't be mean I was taught never to be mean and the only thing I can do right is hunt." she said. She was hiking this even though it didn't even know her.

"Well then I guess nothing will change. You'll continue being a laughingstock since you won't do anything to take matters into your own paws and try to make them stop bothering you." Brokenkit said, taking a bite into the shrew and taking a moment to eat before speaking again. "What other plan do you have to fix this problem other than just sulking?"

She thought it over she remembered what she wanted to do. She wanted to ask newtface to help her but knew he was still trying to understand his feelings for her. "well there is newtface." she said out of no where.

"Who is Newtface? And what kind of name even is that?" Brokenkit asked, a judgmental glare on her face.
