What are the duties of a medicine cat? :

A medicine cat heals the injured and sick with medicinal herbs they hunt for around the territory. Medicine cats are also the spiritual leaders of their clan, speaking with Starclan every half-moon to revive prophecies and taking apprentices to their moonstone journeys. While these are the main duties of a medicine cat, they often do more, acting as therapists for their clanmates or as advisors for their leaders. Generally, they make sure the clan is healthy and running well.

What would you do with this position? :

Oleanderkit has spent the majority of his life so far in the medicine den and has had his apprentice ceremony delayed due to his sickly birth. Frankly, he does not want to be stuck in the medicine den any longer than he has to be. I think I could offer a unique experience by offering a medicine cat who does not want to be a medicine cat and all the roleplay opportunities that it provides. Oleander would be a really flawed medicine cat in terms of bedside manner, though he would be really good at the medicine side of things. His pride wouldn't allow himself to be bad at something. It could also be some good development for him. He could either grow as a character, learning to find goals beyond being a warrior, or he could succumb further to his anger and the circumstances of his birth, which could make way for a villainous arc. Who doesn't love a bad guy medicine cat?

However, out of character, I would be attentive in my role and try to make Oleander as available as possible for topics and reqs. I would make plenty of herb-hunting topics and innovate new ways for Oleander to interact with the clan. Some ideas I had was allowing cats to help with herb sorting and regular nursery check-ins (Since Oleander was a sickly kit, he would want to make sure that doesn't happen again)

Why you think you deserve this position? :

Once May starts, I should have the freedom to be extremely active and help inspire roleplay. I am also determined to stick around. With all that's going on, WCC needs some stability, and I'm staying on board regardless of where WCC goes. I love this place and want to see it improve.
