Juniperpaw was to accompany Briarpaw to hunt something for the elders. It was their turn to fetch fresh-kill for the elders, and it was just their luck that the hunting patrols had yet to return, and would not for a long while, so they had to venture out in search of prey themselves. The black she-cat padded a little behind the tortoiseshell, conscious of the silence that fell over them like a thick blanket. Was she meant to say something? Or was that Briarpaw's job, since she was older? They had interacted during their lessons as kits, but that had been mere shared glances and a few conversations. It didn't feel like the same as when she spoke to Willowkit or Hollowpaw. So what did that make Briarpaw to her? If they were not friends, then they would be... strangers? No, that wasn't quite right either. Juniperpaw shook her head to clear her thoughts and instead focused on the terrain around her in hopes of finding prey.
