| Careful paws picked their way up the Jaggedrock, only stopping as they met their destination above the rest of the clan. It had become easy to scale the great rock with the constant flood of kits turning to apprentices. What wasn't easy however would be picking a warrior that suited this next apprentice-to-be.

It was her turn. It had to be. Frecklekit was gone, and that left just her and Willowkit. She didn't want to be the last of her litter to become an apprentice... she would be delighted if Willowkit became an apprentice today, but only she was. All her effort had to mean something, even if it meant that her name would be called mere heartbeats before her brother's. Juniperkit pushed herself to the very front of the crowd, the small ball of black fluff popping out from the crowd. Hopeful green eyes searched her father's, desperately looking for a sign that he would finally fulfill her wish.

| Sablestrike smiled as his kit pushed her way to the front of the clan. He wished he could keep her as a kit just a while longer, but she was already outgrowing the nursery. It would be fine, turning to an apprentice wouldn't change her... right? "Juniperkit, please step forward."
"You have reached the age of six moons and are ready to become an apprentice. From this day on until you earn you warrior name you will be known as Juniperpaw, and your mentor will be Orchidspark. I trust she will train you well."
