Steadfast crept through the marshes as an exceptional pace, keeping the sound he emitted to a minimum while he followed the scent of a predator. Muse and Cherish had given him countless tips when it came to tracking, tips that he was now putting to use while hunting down their quarry. It was an ordinary red fox that had been getting way too close to Shadowclan's camp, so he had been tasked with taking two cats with him to dispatch the beast. It seemed like kit's play to Steadfast, after all there was no need for anyone other than himself for a hunt like this, but the help was welcome.
Hints of red finally appeared in front of them. The fox was slightly obscured by tall grass but was unmistakable. In a low whisper the tom commanded his fellows. "Strike fast, both of you. Get it before it has the chance to react. The element of surprise is pivotal in taking down predators. If you're quick enough, you'll leave it shocked long enough to take it down before it can even react. Wolfpaw, attack while its back is turned. Fernpaw, circle around as quietly as possible and strike when it turns to Wolfpaw." Steadfast gave the two an encouraging nod. "I'll be right behind the both of you, now go."

Wolfpaw would have had countless protests if he had have been sent out with one of the outlander cats, had he not been put with Fernpaw as well. He was glad then, thinking it better he be here with his brother than someone else-- Not when that freak was looking at his brother like he was crowfood. He could almost predict what would happen. They'd be sent in charging, and then their accompaniement would vanish and leave them to die. Not on his watch.
His pelt ghosted against Fernpaws as he moved forward, shooting a warning glare at the outlander-- if he turned and saw anything suspicious, he'd cut him open as quick as he would the fox-- and vanished into the shadows. He kept himself low, drawing forward, and parted his mouth. Fox stank, but at least a nicer smell would soon follow. And taste.
Then, like a shot, he burst out of his hiding spot and clamped his teeth down on the back of the foxes leg, a furious growl rumbling through his throat. Metallic, tangy, warm. His pelt stood on end but not out of fear. Exhilaration.
Wolfpaw used Ankle Bite, dealing 8 DMG and using 30 SP! The fox's damage is halved for... one turn!
Fernpaw studied the nomad's movement, impressed by how quick and stealthy he traveled despite the unfamiliar terrain of Shadowclan's swamp. The apprentice tried to keep pace and emulate the soldier's soft steps, which was easier due to his lighter weight. Just as he grew familiar with the quiet stride- fox scent filled the air. Steadfast announced a plan. Fernpaw felt a tug of excitement on his maw, yet he traded that grin for a solemn nod. He and Wolfpaw would watch each other's back while nobly working together to take down a fox. The tom's white-tipped tail flicked with energy.
He turned to his brother who was already moving past him. Fernpaw eagerly followed before splitting to take the other side, keeping both Wolfpaw and the fox in his sight. He circled with as light of steps as possible, moving quicker when winds rustled the bushes he stalked through. Then the fox paused. It lifted its nose in the air. Fernpaw stopped breathing, afraid the wind had given his scent away. Those heavy, silent moments watching the fox seemed to stretch forever. Where’s Wolfpaw?
The amber-eyed tabby sprung forth with jaws open wide, his teeth shiny and fierce. Blood hit his nostrils as the fox whined. He knew firsthand that had to have hurt. Following his cue, Fernpaw sprung out of cover to strike the vixen’s flank. His claws caught the spot just above its back leg, tearing his claws through its russet pelt. He joined his brother’s growling with a hiss as he backed away, legs still tense and prepared for retaliation. The apprentice anxiously looked for Steadfast. What next?
Fernpaw used Front Paw Strike on the Fox, dealing 6 damage and costing 7 stamina.

The spicy little apprentice that gave him nasty looks during their journey was just as nasty in his fighting. The speed and accuracy of his strike was perfect, but it almost seemed as if he was enjoying this. Whatever the clan kitties taught their kits wasn't any of his business, but how could you enjoy something like this? The tom didn't let himself dwell on that too long as the final -paw joined his clanmate in the battle.
True to his word, Steadfast was quick to follow the two at a breakneck speed. Mere moments after the -paw slashed at the fox's leg, Steady struck, slamming himself into the beast and pushing it back as it struggled to react. Teeth bit down on the back of its neck, and a matching pair found themselves embedded in his chest.
Steadfast used Snap, Dealing 10 HP and Costing 7 SP __________________
Rustling could be heard faintly, then bodies burst from the tall grass, each one coming with claws and teeth that ripped into it at every angle. One met it head on to exchange chomps. A slight whimper escaped the fox as it felt more clawing at its heels.
Fox used Iron Bite, Dealing 9 HP and Costing 30 SP [Halved Damage from Ankle Biter: 1/1]
Fox Deals Half Damage [1/1] 42/60 HP (-10) 180/180 SP (-30)

Wolfpaw Apprentice | ShadowClan| he/him "You don't believe me? You will. You will become a true believer."
Fernpaw burst out from the marsh, and the outsider thus followed. Wolfpaw only ripped his jaws from the fox's leg when the outsider barrelled into it, and with a pivot of his paws he turned to rake his claws along the fox's flank-- Or whatever he could find purchase on, really. His throat rumbled with a brief purr.

Fernpaw jumped back as Steadfast tackled the fuming vixen. He watched both viciously dine on each other, sending a chill down his spine as though his blood had gone cold. He needed to draw its attention away from Steadfast. The apprentice focused himself and darted for the same tender spot Wolfpaw tore moments ago. His brother had already moved onto raking the fox's flank, which he was enjoying perhaps a bit too much. Fernpaw took no pleasure in hearing the creature's whines of pain... Except for maybe a hint of pride as it ceased its grip on his ally.
