Assault of SnowClan!! [OPEN WindClan Snowball Fight!!]

OOC: Welcome fellow WindClanners to our first(and most likely last due to the soon-to-be end of Leafbare) Snowball Fight!!

As per usual battles, everyone has 48 hours for participants to post in the topic before the battle begins, 36 hours after the battle begins to make your first move, and 36 hours to reply after your opponent has posted.

There is no limit to how many cats may join this fight! A post will be made after 48 hours to split the characters into two teams and they may begin the snowball fight <3

Everyone has 30 HP and unlimited stamina. To fight, each character may throw one snowball per turn and roll hunting dice to determine damage from snowball:

1-3: miss
4-6: 4dmg
7-9: 5dmg
10: 10dmg

Last team standing wins and is exempted from Dawn patrols for a quater moon! Have fun~!

Sootstorm stretched, flexing each of his claws as he waited for the arrival of the rest of his clanmates. It had snowed heavily the night before, leaving a thick layer of snow across the moorland that engulfed the world in white. The sun's reflection on the white powder blinded him more than once, and his paws felt numb whenever he stayed still for too long, but it was completely worth it. He had invited any and all of his clanmates to join him for a snowball fight, hoping to bring some fun and cheer into the Clan's daily life, and now he waited eagerly for them to arrive. The thought of smacking a ball of freezing powder into, say, Tigerstar's, face made him laugh to himself. Oh, they'd all have to lick themselves dry after this to prevent them from catching a cold, but for once he couldn't care less. It wouldn't be Leafbare forever, so they had to make the most of it!

Cloudypetal was the first to arrive - it had a bit of a nostalgic factor to her. She remembered playing with Quickfrost and Galekit doing this exact thing. Her eyes sparkled with nostalgia and excitement. Today, she'll make new memories at their new home.

She approached, sitting across from Sootstorm. "Hey Sootstorm!" She mewed, her tone laced with mischief. "I bet an entire moon of apprentice duties on my team winning." It was a big gamble! But she believed in herself. She laughed at the absurdity of this whole thing, wrapping her bushy tail around her paws.

Galestorm

Galestorm had just arrived after a patrol and was feeling full of energy after the recent, fresh snowfall. He noticed his sister, Cloudypetal, looking mischievous, and stalked up to her before throwing himself at her full-force! He tackled her into the snow with a playful yowl.

"Gotcha!" he announced, his tail twitching playfully as he stuffed a pawful of snow in her face. "What are you doing here, you big furball?" he asked, leaping backwards, before noticing Sootstorm standing close by. "Oh - am I interrupting something?" he asked, a bit sheepishly. "Sorry." His ear pinned back against his head in embarassment at his kit-like outburst.

Rapidpaw flicked her tail back and forth happily as she looked at all the snow. This reminded her of her kitten days when they had the big journey back from the lake in all the snow. She was born in the storm and was used to all this snow.

So getting one last snow fight in was everything she could have wished for.

She ran over to her dad's side.

"Ohhh I wanna be on your team dad!" she purred as she pawed a bit at him.

"Father and Daughter VS brother and sister!?" she declared looking at Cloudy and Gale

Oatpaw padded across the snowy fields, his tail high and flicking gently and cheerfully in the brisk air. He was running a bit late, but they hadn't started yet! He was excited beyond belief - he'd never been in a snowball fight before, and it was possible that this was the last snow of leafbare. He was determined to make the most of it!

A small smile crept its way across his face as he padded up to the group. Sootstorm, Rapidpaw, Cloudypetal, Galestorm... they'd all been in the last mock battle with him, hadn't they? A rush of warmth melted away some 0f the chill under his fur. He wasn't afraid to admit that they were some of his favorite cats in the Clan. He really looked up to the warriors, and he had shared a den with the siblings for a short time. And Rapidpaw... well, Rapidpaw was his friend, after all!

"Sorry, guys!" Oatpaw yelped as he reached them. His ears flattened slightly in embarrassment. "I didn't mean to be late! But I'll have you know, you should all say your prayers now - you're going down!" He cheered, hopping as he did so and managing to look anything but threatening, in spite of his words. Did he even know how to make a snowball? Oh well - it couldn't be that hard!

Rapidpaw tried to keep herself from actually jumping up and down in happiness when she saw her good friend Oatpaw joining. He was the best! She loved his energy so much. "Oatpaw! Over here, come be with my team!" she purred waving her tail for him to join.

This was perfect... if he joined she could use him as a snow shield of sorts and throw snow at Gale from behind him.

Oatpaw perked up as Rapidpaw called him over. He broke into a big old grin. He'd take any chance to spend more time with his friend! "Rapid! I'm so glad you're here! We're gonna win this so hard!" He declared, his gaze glimmering with determination. Of course he'd be with her team! As if he read her mind, the tom lit up with an idea. "Hey, you know what? You should use me as a barrier! I can shield you while you just rain snow down on 'em! With your white pelt and me protecting you, it'll be impossible to hit you!" Oatpaw laughed, his eyes bright and dancing with giddiness. It was the perfect plan! His broad shoulders could keep her safe while she took the opportunity to get as many hits as he could.

Sycamorepaw peeked his head out of the apprentice den. He had been hiding away because of the snow, but the ruckus outside drew his attention. He saw Oatpaw padding over to a group of cats and he decided to investigate. ""What is going on over here?" He purred as he approached the cats.

It wasn't long before he was greeted by Cloudypetal and Galestorm, followed by his daughter, Rapidpaw, and her friend, Oatpaw. Finally, Sycamorepaw joined them, though a bit hesitant. Sootstorm greeted his clanmates, then beckoned the former loner forward with his tail. "We're having a snowball fight!" He proudly declared, "Cloudypetal, Galestorm, you two are with Sycamorepaw. Rapidpaw, Oatpaw, you're in my team! The goal is to 'fight' until no one on the other team is left standing." The deputy beckoned for Rapidpaw and Oatpaw to follow him to the other end of the clearing, then lowered his voice to whisper to the two apprentices. "Here's the plan: Rapidpaw, you'll distract them with a snowball, and while they're dodging that me and Oatpaw will come in and bombard them with snowballs! Is that fine with you two?" His eyes narrowed in a playful glare as he looked over his shoulder at the other team, tail lashing back and forth in anticipation. Cloudypetal had swore a moon's worth of apprentice duties? Well, if he lost, he'd clean the elder's ticks for the next moon!

Rapidpaw nearly squealed aloud when Oatpaw came over closer AND he spoke aloud the same plan that she had thought about. Oh stars, he was so precious. When dad announced the teams and confirmed that herself and Oatpaw got to be with him she gave her friend a toothy, happy smile.

I'm glad your here!" she purred in fellow greeting and went to stand by his side. She listened to her dads plan and gave a little nod. This could work out really well, mostly she just wanted to see Galestorm's look of surprise when she got a snowball at him. She already liked this idea much better than typical sparring. Even so she was getting more used to that too.

"okay, good plan dad!" she purred happily and looked to her apprentice friend, "and if I can draw them out we can do your part of the plan too" she purred trying her best to keep her excited voice down so the other team would not overhear.

She glanced at the opposing side, it sure looked like they were ready. She nodded to her team one final time and scraped at the ground to free some snow up.

"Here goes nothing!"

Rapidpaw flings snow at Galestorm! rolling dice:

It was a solid hit right at him. Impossible to dodge as the snowy slush oozed down the warriors pelt. She put her front paws over her mouth giggling a little, "oh brrr... Galestorm that looks cold!!" she giggled and ran back slowly ish towards her side wanting to get him to chase after her to set their teams trap

Oatpaw beamed as Sycamorepaw bounded up, but he was crushed when Sootstorm announced the tom would be on the enemy team. I guess it can't be four against three... Still, they'd have fun! His heart beat faster as Sootstorm hatched a brilliant plan. He nodded determinedly, brown eyes aglow with friendly competition. It would be super entertaining to watch Cloudypetal and Galestorm take his apprentice duties for an entire moon. He giggled.

Oatpaw smiled appreciatively at Rapidpaw, glad his idea hadn't been forgotten. He would make the perfect shield, he was sure of it! He purred at his friend, then turned back to the opposing team. "Come and get me, Sycamorepaw!" He taunted, jumping into action after Rapidpaw. "I dare you!" The mottled tom scraped up some snow, squinting to make out the white apprentice's fur against the blinding white snow. Oatpaw formed a messy snowball, packing the dense snow together until he had the perfect lump.

"Take that!" He yowled with mock ferocity. The snow-lump hit the lanky tom square in the chest, and Oatpaw grinned. "Gotcha!!"

Oatpaw rolled a 4! Sycamorepaw got hit with a snowball for 4 damage!

Galestorm

Galestorm's pelt burned upon his arrival, assuming he had been interrupting some kind of training session. But his ears perked and his head tilted at the deputy's words. A snowball fight? he mused, but isn't that for kits? Galestorm remembered the time Cloudypetal and him fought against Quickfrost in a snowball fight, back at the lake. It feels like so long ago now. The memory felt blurred now, as though he could just barely grasp it.

His amber gaze shot to Sycamorepaw and then Cloudypetal. The dilute tom loved to be paired alongside his sister during training and games. It reminded him over and over of their strengthening bonds after their fallout before the great journey. At the time, Galestorm never would have thought he could recover his relationship with his littermate, but time and determination had proven otherwise. His whiskers twitched as they met eyes now. It's just like when we were kits, remember, Cloudypetal?

His attention turned back to Sootstorm.
"Oh, you're so on," he meowed, his tail lashing. "Let's get them!" he announced, bounding forward and throwing up a cloud of frost in his wake. He glanced back over his shoulder, just as an explosion of ice cold smacked his chest, and Galestorm stumbled to a halt. Before him was Rapidpaw, looking mischievous as she taunted him. His lips curled into a playful toothy grin. "Good shot!" he told her, "But just you wait! I'm gonna get you back twice as much!"

Galestorm made chase, stopping to bunch up snow beneath his paws as Rapidpaw retreated. He built up a huge snowball and chuckled to himself before throwing it, with all his strength, towards the apprentice.

Rolling... rolled a 9 for 5 damage!

The great ball of snow plummeted down on the apprentice, covering her pelt in icy crystals. Galestorm cackled in the distance, rolling onto his back with the force of his victory.
