Mottlestar's ascent to the highrock had much in the way of grace, little in the way of gentleness as thoughts mulled through her mind. Endless forays of strategy, pieces of a greater puzzle that she had to try and decipher from afar. Much of her had wanted to convene with Perchstar; but for the moment, she would be stalled as there was something even more important. An apprentice due their name. Her tail lashed at the idea of naming one of her Clan's precious young, only to send them into the midst of battle, and it was a mental note to herself that she would prevent it at all possible costs. There would be no distribution of a name simply so they died with a name they were owed; no, this was a name that was to be given, and would live.
Looking among her clan with an exhausted gaze, Mottlestar straightened herself up as she yowled, "Let all cats safe from the bramble's thorns gather beneath the Highrock for a clan meeting!"
Happiness can be found, even in the darkest of times.
Littlepaw padded out of the apprentice den at Mottlestar's call. Whether it was good news or bad news, she was curious as to what the leader had to share this time.

For once, it would indeed be good news that came from the leader's call. Her tail swished once, and once the apprentice in question had gathered, she stepped forth to call. "We gather to recognize the efforts of an apprentice, one who has worked hard to earn her warrior name. Littlepaw, step forward." As customary pause was given to allow any emotions to surge and paws to move, Mottlestar would then continue. "Starclan, I ask you to look upon this apprentice, as she has trained hard in the ways of your noble code. Littlepaw, do you promise to defend the warrior code and serve Thunderclan, even at the cost of your life?"

Littlepaw's heart skipped a beat as her name was called. She took a large, confident step forward and met Mottlestar's gaze with a fiery one of her own. It felt as if she had been waiting for this moment for moons, and now it was finally here. She had a whole life ahead of her as a ThunderClan warrior the moment that she said the words...
There was still no denying the spark of hope that the tortoiseshell felt whenever she heard those words come from the maw of an apprentice. They had completed their training, and now had an entire life ahead of them. Filled with promise, with joy. Even if it was also filled with the strong chance of sadness... it would be alright. They would be spared a better future.
"Then from this day forth you shall be known as Littlewolf. We honor you for all you have done as an apprentice in Thunderclan, and we welcome you as a full warrior from now on. Tonight, as the Clan sleeps, you shall keep silent vigil to honor your new role. Until then, Thunderclan, let us welcome our newest warrior!"
