Been So Long [Rapid]

It had been a long time since he had been out on the territory. Even longer since he had brought an apprentice out here. With everything that had happened since the end of leaf-fall and the start of leaf-bare made getting out in the territory not much of an option, especially for the younger generation. Once he made it to the familiar spot that he usually took apprentices to, he turned to face Rapidpaw. "Alright, we are going to start the day with some light sparring. Nothing to intense, and no claws. I just want to get a read on how much you know, and we will build from there." Tigerstar stated, looking at his apprentice. "We can start whenever you are ready."

Rapidpaw followed quickly behind her leader/mentor. Her shorter legs scurried as she kept right by his side. She had already found herself very fond of her mentor and wanted to do her best possible for him.

She was a sweet apprentice, doing what she was told and tried not to let him down. However, she did not go out of her way to please him just to please him. It was a decent balance.

She gave a heavy sigh however at the mention of sparring. She was decently familiar with it... her siblings Crake and Heather seemed to like the subject much more than she did however. She had picked up the basics from them however and would do her best to show that now.

She gave a nervous nod to Tigerstar. She was used to sparring one of her siblings or maybe in the case of the practice spar earlier if it was on a get to the bush first thing like in her dad's practice event.


However, a 1 on 1 spar with the leader had her nervous and unsure. She wished that she could be hunting right now. That came so much more naturally. But she also recognized the importance of spar practice.


She wondered where Eveningpaw was... if they could team up on their mentor maybe they could get him together. She shook the thought away trying to stay focused.

"r-right" she meowed her usual enthusiasm replaced by absolute nerves.

She thought what she had seen Crake and Heather do time after time, whichever of her siblings got the first hit in usually threw themselves in with a running start.

She pawed at the ground and ran for Tigerstar and launched at him in an attempt to bowl him over

"That is a good start, its always good to try to get the jump on your opponent." Tigerstar stated, moving so he shook off Rapidpaw. He couldn't make his own attack if the apprentice still had her weight on top of him. As soon as her weight was gone, the striped tom rounded on the she-cat lashing out with a single paw.

Rapidpaw gave a little yelp as she fell off her mentor and squinted her eyes at him trying to think of what she would do next. She froze up for a second not really sure.  How did heather and crake always seem to know what to do here?

She shook her head trying to focus and ended up just charging at him with no real plan at all figuring whatever happened would happen.

She did not even know how it happened but she managed to get lucky and slid right under his paws and was able to be right under him. Being extra careful to not claw him knowing from experience from crake how much tummy hits hurt she pawed up at him.

She hit not too hard but enough to get the point across that in a real battle she could really deal with any enemy with it
