Former proud warriors, beginning as distant friends and slowly growing to life-long companions. Although tensions between ThunderClan and RiverClan trended towards the better at the time, it was well known that the slightest brush of code-breaking might kindle that sparked another moons-long war. Sleepycloud, a well-known half-blood whose very life had beget violence from her birth, was especially weary of the shame and punishment that may follow them - should their relationship ever be uncovered.
It was Sleepycloud's idea to flee the clans. Leaving meant abandoning their clan-mates and the only lives they had ever known, but they agreed that the distance between them couldn't last forever - and at some point, their luck would run out. They met at Sunningrocks and fled along the river, letting the steady stream erase their scents and paw-steps forever; or so they thought.
Close as they had become, it was almost inevitable that kits would come into the picture at some point. Stormsong in particular had been thrilled at first, until reality sank in. They made Rogue-life work for themselves, but caring for a little felt near impossible.
'It takes a clan to raise a kit', he had joked.
Quietly, they both understood the truth behind it. With coaxing from Stormsong, the pair made their way back into ThunderClan territory with plans to plead with Mottlestar for forgiveness, or a place for them to keep the kits at least. He had come up with most of his speech by the time they'd reached the borders of his old home.
The borders that had been up-kept for countless generations had disappeared completely. Instead of their old family, old friends, they found fellow Clan outcasts and loners - young and old, using the former ThunderClan camp as shelter.
With news of all the clans having fled, the two of them have decided to stay in the remains of ThunderClan camp for the time being. Sleepycloud has only begun to show, but they are already determined to do the best they can for their new family, clans or not.
Biologically, the children will be 1/2 TC; 1/4 RC; 1/4 WC; and 100% slick as silver.
Not too worried about how close they are in appearance to their parents. Genetics are funky anyways, so any coats work.
Considering their current situation, I think it would make sense for them to be in favor of adopting any kits who need a family. (For TC)
